I saw MCR in 2011 right before they broke up for that long period of time and I gotta say it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to. It was in a little club and when they started playing this song during the chorus it was like being in a wave in the ocean, that's how amazing the crowd was jumping and just enjoying the music without recording with their phones. I'll never forget that concert.

Saw them headline taste of chaos way back whenever that tour was.
Their sound was horrible. What turned me off was gerard had a tendency to always hold the mic out for the crowd 90% of the time so you barely got to hear him actually sing. So it's not that they didnt play well it just affected the overall sound.
Still like rocking some of their tunes every now and then, though.

It's freaking awesome that you do a bit of research beforehand!! It kills me when people miss out! If you'd like to react to an album, The Black Parade is a concept album, so it'd be perfect, but if you wanna check out a different one, there's no reason to hesitate! Also, Conventional Weapons was released just before they broke up, and only one song off of it(I may be wrong) has been performed live as of december 2019 at their reunion show! I hope when it's safe to have concerts in the future that they'll perform a few more off it : )

Aside from "Not Okay", ou should check out "Skylines and Turnstiles" by MCR of their first album, which is a song that Gerard wrote after watching a plane hit one of the twin towers on 9/11 and it inspired the creation of the band. Its a great and beautifully tragic song.
Also "Our Lady of Sorrows" also off their album, it's short but oh so sweet and its their most metal song. The story and lyrics are cool I'd love to see n your take on them
Gerard said that he was in the Cartoon Network studio that day and he witnessed people jumping from the tower to avoid the collapse.

Hey bro! Just throwing in "I'm Not Okay" as a suggestion. That video alone fueled the beginning of the entire emo/scene era, as well as bringing up several subjects such as mental health and sexuality which were still touchy subjects back in the early 2000s.
It was what EVERYONE was talking about back then. The hair, the clothes, the angst and the emotions!

Hey, Alex I love your channel and your reactions are great to watch. I'm a long time MCR fan (read: millennial who wore black and didn't have a ton of friends). As a musician, one of my favorite things about this song is the combination of Gerard Ways vocals and the very blues/rockabilly guitar riffs, especially the walkdown at the end. Keep it up, man! Also a lot of comments are suggesting "I'm Not Okay" so I second that.

46 yrs old and MCR is in my top ten fav bands. I was supposed to see them this october with my niece...was so excited beginning of this year when we got tickets. I literally screamed like a teenage girl lol. Was such a downer to have concerts cancled but its recheduled for next year. Hopefully it will happens. Fingers crossed ...i Have to see them live before my time on earth is done and i never got the chance when they were touring. I had wanted to but was never able to pull it off
