- In this cut of the deadlift-off between Stan "the Rhino" Efferding and Dave "Zeus" Zyski, Mark Bell and Silent Mike offer some more insight into these lifters' different styles and how Stan has rebuilt himself to be fitter than ever.
Stan also teaches us how and why to start incorporating squat conditioning into our training, either with an introductory exercise, or cutting straight to good old-fashioned 20 rep squats.

I'm 9 years old and can deadlift more than Rhin- actually, no, I can't.
holy shit.. that vein on his head... (Rhino)
thats fucking crazy
Unbelievable
pivot500 thats his horn XD
Loving these videos thanks for putting them out. Mirin' the Rhino's strength speed technique, and tan
stan deadlifting 705 for a triple with no belt like its nothing
Looked at a video from 2009 with rhino pressing the 215's and fat mark in the back spotting him. Showed mom the difference on the two between this video and she said it looked like mark had started working out lol. It's damn impressive with stan's strength considering the change in size! Cool to see zeus match that 771!
Rhino is such a savage, Zeus is such a savage & Mark is....... Well Mark is rich
Rhino has that perfect deadlift technique
I F**KING LOVE You Mark! Awesome Footage. You really sealed the deal with those last clips of Kim Valentine. You had me laughing the whole video. You are a true inspiration. Please check out my youtube channel where I have my Sqwatt! and Deadlift from my first meet last July here in LI, NY. I was in the 275. As well as footage of my first eating challenge that I annihilated. In 5 weeks I have my first Strongman competition up in the Hudson Valley. Lift for Autism. I'm competing in the LW amateurs and that footage will be posted shortly after April 18th. After watching all those Rogue videos of the Arnold Strongman I'm Excited and Hyped. I'm Confident I'm taking first. Thank you for all the amazing videos from Supertraining as well as the Powercast which I am a devout listener of as I cook my scambby eggs and oats. Keep on Poopen on Big Brother of Iron.
Rhino's DL form seems to have improved from the video of him from 2012. Inspiring.
i love how he says super training DYAAAAT tv
So let me get this straight with what Stan was saying at 7.20.... So by less eccentric load you mean you take the terminal swing portion out with stair sprints. I don't really see how it's less impactful though (unless you have a hamstring injury) as you would be putting your knee through a greater range of motion. Not saying that's a bad thing for most people but someone please clarify.
No body motivates me more than Stan the Rhino Efferding and Mark Bell . Two humble individuals who is passionate about helping others .
Too often, I see lifters who have a good routine, but that refuse to change it or improve upon it with time. It is quite sad. It's okay to plan your workouts or use someone else's. In fact, I would recommend it if you have trouble with being self-motivated, but if you can find a way to improve upon it then you shouldn't hesitate to do so. Mark, at least recently, has shown no fear of changing things up if it suits him and he should be commended for it. Also, I like the new Rhino, but he needs his man beard back.
Rhino = GOAT
Jesus pulls..what point do you suggest adding a belt to training? 315+?
Whenever you want
If you can work heavy with a neutral lower back you really dont need it, obviously you could probably pull more with a belt but what I mean is that there nothing to worry about if form is on point!
70-80% is a good time to add a belt
Not to sound obnoxious but shouldn't Kim's butt be a little rounder from squatting?
Was that Dan Kovacs walking around at the last part of the video?
2:35 are you serious?
?
Just a casual 705 for 3 beltless
Julian Franco Film ya im serious...
705.... for a triple.... dead stop.... no belt....... ok. I am inspired
Why is acceleration from the floor important on a dead-lift? Is it to prevent fatigue or grip fatigue? Reason I'm asking recently got into some heavy weight for myself 320lbs on the dead-lift may not sound heavy to most but for me past injuries and the fact i'm 27 and started 3 years ago not knowing what the hell I was doing and just now following a decent strength program. I've went from a 135lb deadlift - a 320lb deadlift in 6 months, squat 95lbs to 330lbs in 6 months, bench from 95lbs to 240lbs in 6 months and ohp bar to 152 lbs in 6 months. So i'm doing awesome for my strength but i mean 320lbs is heavy and its slowly moving off the floor is this bad or just keep training the way I train. 5 x 5 style for all lifts and 1x5 for the deadlift.
Man what a gym. The people you have in there. Awesome.
love both of them...... srsly would love to just breathe the same air as the two...... Rhino is the man belt less and when he does use it it's for 771 or some crazy number too damn high to count
you're breathing the same air as dinosaurs, so I'm sure you breath the same as rhinos too.
Mike great video.Rhino is amazing :} that back workout you done with Rhino few days I just repeat the same workout OMG am still sore .
Thanks
Does anyone know where Dave and Kim went?
Great video mark! Really have dreams of being as strong and successful as you and the super training crew one day! I recently posted a video of some deadlifts and was wondering if anyone reading this comment would go see if my form was correct? Trynna stay safe
The quality has always been great, but wow, these latest videos are looking amazing! Thanks for the content!
Awesome meeting you the last day of the Arnold, US!
Keep up the great work, Mark!
Watched bsf just now srs
What type of band is stan using at the begining- name of band and tension...? Great video btw
Mark can you do a video on your favorite over all programs and maybe even put out your own program?
Man all these videos are just awesome and you and mike are great together. I need to start deadlifting more often.
This was an awesome video.
What is it that he smelt before his lift
is it just me or was the footage where mark squats, speeded up?
can you squat and deadlift and same time? would help get stronger?
If you mean the same day, yes. Powerlifters do it all the time
In general, but depends on your program. Sometimes it's best to deadlift main lift and do accessory with higher reps squats (and vice versa)
thats one very healthy brain vain
Mark great videos keep them coming
Awesome vid. Zeus and Rhino are monsters!
I was told years ago to never squat after doing lower back work. Is this a myth or does it only apply to particular movements?
Totally a myth
supertraining06 thanks bro. I can rearrange my split now. I've followed that advice for years.
9thwardJust It's actually not a myth, my coach hurt his back when doing heavy squats after deadlifting...
I guess you can do high rep squats, but not heavy/lowrep
"Here goes Zeus with the diaper look..." lol
How has Stan such freakin big arms, but his legs are lookin quite tiny in comparison ?
No hate, but what does he do man, his arms are about to explode this just looks unreal
Genetics. He has small calves.
skip leg day every now and then you're welcome and up the accessory work for everything upper body srs no leg gains for years
Mr.Mirin Cant be the case here, Stan held the Squat World Record in his division wrapless I think for some time. He has probably really I mean really really good arm genetics. Man fuck his biceps is bigger than his shoulder
BadBlueBoyZG86 lol I was referring to the memes
Strange Garage Customs and Creations you know that rhino is ifbb pro?
oh my god it's a rhino!
Damn Rhino is still damn strong
Love it. Inspiring to say the least.
Blooooooody awesome
great video!
Great video.
He looks a lot healthier
These were some of the best videos.
beasts
What happened to Zeus ????
But George Leeman tho!
loving the Stan tips!!!
Damn, a lot has changed
prolapse extravaganza!!
So reps is now cardio?
For 20 reps, yes
Those 20 reps for 3 sets is a good cardio
Use a weight that would be challenging but not super hard for 10..... And do 20...even once... Let alone for 3 sets. Trust me you'll know you did cardio. 😀
Someone never squatted before... lol 20 reps for 3 set is insane..
Rafael Hide this is nowhere near cardio
Buff voldemort
I can leg press 800+ for sets of 4-8 reps but can barely squat 225. What the hell is wrong with me?
just means your legs are strong, on the other hand your whole body is used to stabilize for a squat. need to build up the rest of the body to support more weight when squatting...so, squat! >.>
You're a bro who doesn't even squat m8
probably doing half reps on leg press
Lol a 10 year old can leg press 800+. Leg press is easy as fuck because it's a machine not a freeweight.
FlexGunner Yeah, show me a 10 old that can press 800 pounds...fucktard.
go CONAN go
Those arms look extremely suspicious.
