hi friends! Thanks for watching. In the opening shot of this video, I'd accidentally left a product in one of the boxes that hasn't been released yet, so I had to cover it up in post! That's what the weird white bar is for. All will be revealed later this month :)
This is such an interesting, elucidating moment in your current project - thank you for sharing it with us! My heart did a little leap of joy when you started talking about Schiap, observing and allowing the feeling that we have about extraordinary things that sing to us regardless of how much practical use we get out of them. I just caught myself grinning at that phenomenon presenting itself so clearly to you. I'm getting ready to KonMari my belongings... but once I do, I think I'd love to try a project like this.
This is a great idea. It helps you organize your stash according to real-life utility. When you're looking at your stash in its entirety and thinking about what to declutter, you're operating more in theoretical terms ("I MIGHT want to this or that") and don't declutter as efficiently. This method makes you think about what you will actually use, according to your own style. It's almost like a capsule wardrobe but for makeup.
This was a great experiment! I loved that you had a chance to think about what you missed...and in a way adding more things to the set was like shopping your stash! Had a lot of fun watching this. I might do the same!
I love love love this series so happy you're continuing for the next few weeks!! This is so genius for ur project. It's probably going to end with a glorious declutter (as u speculated) and I'm so excited!!
Your first video really inspired me to buckle down and weed out the products I've been dragging around thinking I'll finish it up someday. I found extracting just the ones I love really freeing somehow. It feels like I can finally have the makeup collection that I actually want and need, if that makes sense
Lovely video!! Always excited to see you've posted :) Totally understand it might not be a widely requested topic but I'm disabled but LOVE makeup; so I was wondering what products you have that are the easiest/quickest/most foolproof of all? That use the least effort and arm strength kind of thing? And again, great video - take care of yourself!
my go-to makeup look for minimal effort/energy is always just cream blush on both the cheeks and eyes. I love the Glossier cloud paint for this because it becomes part of the skin and doesn't budge!
Hannah Louise Poston I’ve always been very interested in those! So glad to know they work smooshed (my scientific technique) on the eyes as well. Thank you! ☺️
After all of the times I heard you talk about Erin's Faces, I finally went to check out the site. Your description of the concealer intrigued me. Turns out she's totally local to me (like 15 mins away). Felt good to support a local small biz during this crazy time! Also, she sells samples of her products which made it super easy to figure out what color to get.
I absolutely love this series! I'm isolating far from my home and as a result I could only bring whatever makeup fits in my travel case and I've been seriously craving my Roen 52 degrees palette and my Sunnies Face lip dips. I just just miss playing with them so much!
I’m on day five of the project and I’ve already learned so much about my makeup preferences and my collection. The biggest take back I have at this point is that my decision fatigue around makeup is essentially gone. And I’ve only missed one lipstick so far!
It’s really interesting to see how this experiment is. Going, and it shows how well you know yourself. Thank you for all your videos, I appreciate all the time and effort you put in. But you need to do what’s right for you, and if that’s much reduced content, so be it! You being healthy is always the most important thing ❤️
I always get the urge to try these experiments alongside you, Hannah! But I've whittled down my own collection so much that I can't really do it, haha. Maybe I'll just imagine that I have other products I've intentionally put aside. :)
I'm so proud of you and happy for you. Thanks for making content for us, Girl! ...and thanks for the Sadie-Vision at the end...Adorbs!!! Stay safe and healthy, everyone! 🤗❤🙏🏽
Hannah! You make me want to try cream blush so bad! But I nearly exclusively use powder foundation, and the idea that you can't put a cream over a powder was one of the first lessions I learned in makeup! :(
I enjoyed watching the videos for this project. I have quite a small makeup collection but even so I want to reduce it to the items I actually love. Most notably I have learned that I only want to use my higher quality eyeshadows. Early on last year I purchased 2 cheap eyeshadow pallets (elf earth & sky) and Kara Duo before I bought the tartlette juicy and Natasha dedona palettes. I just can’t tolerate the poor quality even though I like some of the colours. I have 2 blushes both high quality (one pinky and one peachy) I love them both and don’t feel like I need any more. I have one foundation that I love and one that is meh. I’m still figuring out the primers and concealers right for me. I have a lot of concealers and don’t love any of them. I’m with you on the lipstick and glosses though. I enjoy the variety. That’s one area I would like to have more not less. Thanks for doing this series.
Such a great project and I appreciate that you share the journey with the side roads of discovery. I’ll echo many others, so lovely to have a Sadie appearance. Please take good care of yourself xxoo
Enjoying these hope to see more. I think I might do this with certain categories in my collection that are a little too large. Great way to know what you truly miss and don’t want to be without.
What a coincidence. I ordered roen 52 palette last week and it’s arriving today. I hope to see a look or grwm using this palette.. ❤️ 💗 FYI I listened to your recent swatch video last night and I was out like a light. Lol.
Hi. I hope you keep track of the items you had to have initially then never used or only used rarely because you added to the boxes. I think it would be interesting. ♥️
This is a really interesting subproject of your year of less stuff ! I was really surprised that your Tom Ford lipstick didn't make it back ^^ PS: my flatmate was passing by at the end of the video and wanted to say that Sadie seems really cute :)
You all are in our thoughts and prayers. We are usually in the same page emotionally so I'm grateful to hear your check in video. I love your new project. :)
I didn't wear Samantha's blush today (even though it would have been perfect, and I MISSED it. I'm dying to start the bronzer, I just want to work on my project pan bronzer for another couple of days.
I missed somewhere when you got the Roen Cool! I tried to find where you bought/received it, but I can't seem to figure it out. Did you spend your Beauty Budget on it! Just curious :)
@@annabookout8179 I cant precicely remember where she mentioned that little bit of info.. so im sorry I cant be of any lore help lol. Nontheless, I do not recall a dedicated review of the quad on the chanel ;)
You could make this a series.. You started over from scratch but future episodes, if you're wanting to add to it, could be like a shopping trip, but from your own collection. This makes sense in my head, so hoping it translates to this text, lmao
This is such an interesting project. I'm curious to see if after adding in these products if you will find yourself still missing items. I think it would be hard to not use the things I was missing, knowing they're right under my desk lol. My will power is weak I suppose 🤷🏻♀️. Can't wait to see how these next weeks play out 🤗
I find out i keep wanting to wear makeup even when isolated. Not just the evening of the face but creating some looks and being as presentable as i can for my morning calls. Taking selfies with red lipstick is just a hobby of mine :) but makes me Feel more normal. Another observation i had : you actually still do not miss faded clementine? :) i wonder if it is a loved fave in the vein of the givenchy blush. Something dear from another life. Of course this dats all our makeup now can be seen as coming from another time.
I love this project it's so interesting. I was actually surprised you said the Nars Lipstick because I feel like we rarely see you in it. I expected you to say Birken Brown or Bond Girl. Anyway, take care.
I thought you left out the neohighlighter the 1st time around and I was like what?! I have been paying a lot more attention to my collection now that I'm working from home. How old my items are, what I actually enjoy wearing etc. I want to keep my eye shadows for the most part, but I want to see what I can do with them all. I feel like I could get 12 looks out of the Identity 2 palette that I would enjoy. Same goes for a few other I have and I have at least 3 large z palettes full of singles.
It's so interesting - I obsessively watch all of your content, but my makeup collection is still smaller than this more edited collection of yours. =P I'm seriously considering purchasing the cool-toned Roen quad, per your raving about the formula. I'm on the lookout for an eyeshadow palette that features some sort of rich, satiny jewel tones. I don't know if that's a thing. Thanks for your videos, Hannah! I hope you're doing okay!
@@MoonlitSunflower ooohh I really love some of those colors, but I have so many warm tones. I'm looking for cool tones, but apparently errbody prefers warm these days! D:
@@darcyreadssometimes3904 Take a look at Viseart's "Bijoux Royal". It's a 12-pan of nothing but predominantly cool-toned jewel-tones, that have satin-to-metallic finishes. It's one of my favorite palettes. If you're interested, you should try to pick it up soon (if you can), b/c I think it's being discontinued. Plus, there are tons of sales rn. Alternatively, Persona's "Identity 2" is a more affordable palette to look at. Although it features cool, warm, & neutral shades, all of the satins & metallics are jewel tones. Also, the warmer shades are NOT orangey all all, they're warmer pinky shades.
@@darcyreadssometimes3904 it is really difficult to not find super warm palettes. I'm joyous at this point that neutral is coming back. I like a warm brown but would prefer neutral and I so do not want a bunch of orange in my collection. I I have a pop of orange in my collection and that is enough.

Scandalous!
I totally didn't notice this until seeing your comment. I just thought it was boxy white packaging. :|
I love this project because it works so well with the theme of “the year of less stuff”. ❤️
Now this is the quality content I signed up for! I just love these types of videos, they’re so enjoyable to watch!
