I did something crazy the other day. I pulled out all of my makeup and asked myself “would I get rid of this product, if it meant getting 100% of my money back?” I ended up cutting my collection in half. I sold, donate, gave everything else away and I’m so happy with everything I currently own! I think I can declutter more but for the moment, it’s perfect for me. :)
A video idea ( if you happen to notice this comment. I know I'm behind on all the content you are gracing us): drag makeup video. I would love to see you do a full on drag glam. Either the make up toi would do for your imaginery drag charachter OR a video where you follow a drag makeup tutorial. I would LIVE for a Trixie x HLP video or who ever fancies your soul.
The previous one played fine for me, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I will re-include my comment about Lisa Eldridge's video for Watercolor Blush Technique for using multiple blush colors at once😊
If you don't mind the recommendation, I find the NYX slide on eye pencils to be comparable to the urban decay ones. They come in a ton of colors and are often on sale at ulta :)
@@michelesalter9564 the lip pencil in nude suede shoes is my favorite. I've heard it's a dupe for CT Pillow talk! awesome to hear other people enjoy them too.
Laney they last okay on my tight line. Tbh I haven’t ever found a black eyeliner that stays as well as I’d like too. But on the skin / smudged out the nyx ones last all day on me. On the waterline They last as well as the UD ones do on me.
Saw the first one all the way through... but watching this one too - along with another thumbs up. Thank you for being thoughtful for your viewers and re-uploading. Say safe and well.
Watched this the first time - but thought I’d comment now anyway. I find this project really interesting! I would love to see more videos of you duping the vibes of something. I’m finding my time in lockdown (here in New Zealand) that I keep browsing and finding things I want to buy instead of using what I have. I need to get some HLP makeup playtime going!
I bought the MUFE concealer because of you and it's the first concealer that I've actually liked. I would love to see the eye look with the persona and roen shadows!
I have one mascara, one eye pencil, one eyeshadow palette and one lipstick (that doubles as a cream blush). I used to have a lot more, but I've decluttered almost everything because my taste in make up has changed drastically over the last few years. I love my minimal make up collection and I get so much joy out of every single piece, but I would love to have a couple more lipsticks. Even though the one I have is perfect and I never get bored of it, it would be nice to have a little variation.
Like others I’m really interested in how you’ve taken this concept further in actually using your ‘starting over’ set for a time. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and insights at the end.
The sad thing is that I’m much more sure about the stuff I wouldn’t repurchase that about the stuff I would. Which is so sad tbh, also, I’m noticing that most of those things are impulse buys. I mean, at this point in my life all makeup purchases is an impulse buy, I’m set on everything, but there’s a difference for me between getting that lipstick/eyeshadow palette that’s been in the back of my mind for months as a “present” and seeing something shiny, pretty “limited edition” and letting the magpie brain, as Mia calls it, take over. You said that it’s not like you can put on blush the same way you do eyeshadow, layering and stuff. Ma’am, I’d like to introduce you to Kackie Loves Reviews, the woman that has me wearing three (or four) different blushes in one go. Listen, I’m an eyeshadow woman like you, I’ve always treated blush like a gapstop between the shiny eye stuff and the shiny lip stuff, and turns out I was wrong.
The video worked well for me the first time, but I just wanted to say, I bought the cool-toned roen palette based on your experience with their eyeshadows, and I've had so much fun with it! The cool colors were the right choice for me, and though I definitely went through a learning curve with the formula, they are a staple in my collection that make me go outside the box in a way I love (I'm often an all-matte eye person). I even got a random complement on how beautiful my eyes looked from a stranger in a coffee shop, which is super rare living in Sweden 😁 so thanks for the recommendation!
I think I would only have four single eyeshadows (cream, medium brown, dark brown, black), a black gel liner with a silicone brush for my waterline, one mascara, contour, no bronzer, a cream apricot blush, one brow pencil, a concealer, a foundation, and a loose powder. That's it. Five would be repurchases (concealer, foundation, powder, brow pencil, mascara), six I know for definite which ones I would try (the eyeshadows, liner and contour), but I have yet to figure out what blush formulation I would get
So I have so many of your videos to catch up on. During this time, I was an essential employee. I love this idea. And after breaking some of my singles, I think I need to rethink my makeup
This was a really interesting challenge and I rounded up my must-haves - and did a lot of thinking about my approach to and actual wearing of makeup. Not yet sure if I’ll make a project of it, but this challenge is making me feel like I truly am ”over” makeup and I really just use it in very limited ways.
So I’m about to finish my one concealer that I use in a similar way to how you use it, and the Erin’s Faces one sounded so lovely that I went on their website to check it out and they only have 5 shades!! None of which were suitable for me; that’s super disappointing. I really wish that brands would be more inclusive. 💔
I'm also bummed out by the shade range not going lighter, but I understand in their case because they are truly a super tiny brand. I think they genuinely could not afford the overhead to product more. I'm hoping they will expand someday.
Its fun that you are doing this :) I’m curious to see how you feel about it at the end of your experiment. I actually went through the paces years ago and got to the point where I had soooo much stuff that I was overwhelmed with what I had. I spend several years after that decluttering my collection, to the point that last year, I got down to only one premade eyeshadow palette, and one small palette of singles, a couple of cheek products, and a handful of lipsticks. I’ve been so much happier with a small, edited collection. In fact, I have been considering going through it again and decluttering it even more as there are certain things I don’t usually reach for. I just find that while I love makeup and variety, its just not realistic for me to have a lot at this point since I rarely have time to do the most, nor do I end up wanting to when I do have occasion to go out. This video has inspired me to edit further. And honestly, with the shelter in place that we are under (i am in so cal too), things like this seem so frivolous to me now. Its really gotten me to think more about what is important and whats just not. I will never get rid of all of my makeup or anything; just an observation of myself :)
I'm wondering-- how have you been doing the lipsticks--red, gloss, voile-- anything without feeling a certain way with the masks...? i've been feeling strange about drawing any sort of attention to my lips not to mention that anywhere I go my mask is on... I wish I could wear my new Pat Mcgrath lipstick but I feel silly --and then I feel silly for feeling silly! ayayay la vie d'une femme
I was able to watch the first one all the way through, but I didn't comment so I'll seize this moment and comment now! I did the exercise too -- it was a real Goldilocks moment as i had to do it 3 times; the first ended up with too large a "minimal" collection, the second was too small, and the third was just right. :) It is 40 items -- I wasn't trying to get a nice round number but I'm pleased it came out that way. Three face products (powder foundation, spot concealer, and an ambient lighting trio I use as bronzer and finishing powder); five blushes; one eyeshadow palette, one eyeshadow duo, and five singles; four lip pencils, 13 bullet lipsticks, and four lip glosses; and one each mascara, eyeliner, brow gel, and eyeshadow primer.
I want to do this with my collection. My current collection is much bigger than yours, and much too big for me. And I know I wouldn't repurchase half of what I have, so I think it would be fun to see what I would pick if I had to start over.
I was just going to comment if u would experiment with those and find what will u miss...and u did so thnx. I been wanting to do this with my clothes since my makeup collection is curated to fit one makeup bag.
I just don't wear it often enough to merit purchasing it with my own money! I'd miss it, but I wouldn't spend the money on it (similar to the Natasha Denona palettes). It was originally a birthday gift to me, that's why I have it now.

That was literally my first thought when she said you could only apply one blush at once :)

Tova Strauss Thanks for the info Tova. Will check this out. ✨
I have been using the NYX eye and lip pencils and the value is great.
@@michelesalter9564 the lip pencil in nude suede shoes is my favorite. I've heard it's a dupe for CT Pillow talk! awesome to hear other people enjoy them too.
Tova Strauss are the nyx eye pencils waterproof? I have trouble with eye pencils wearing off easily and I’m looking for something for the waterline.
Laney they last okay on my tight line. Tbh I haven’t ever found a black eyeliner that stays as well as I’d like too. But on the skin / smudged out the nyx ones last all day on me. On the waterline They last as well as the UD ones do on me.
Had no problem playing the original version of this video, but will happily watch again 💕
Saw the first one all the way through... but watching this one too - along with another thumbs up. Thank you for being thoughtful for your viewers and re-uploading. Say safe and well.
It would be so fun to see a follow up on your picks for this year!

I would love if you reviewed the pillow talk medium
Forget about this channel.
So glad I remembered it.
You're great!
This is one of the most beautiful tops I’ve ever seen
I also had no trouble with the prior upload...I enjoy these types of videos so much...Love your style and approach in all of your videos🌞
Thanks for the re-upload - this was one I did not want to miss!

I love layering like up to four blushes at a time when I’m playing around. I just love blush. So glad we have so many options.
Thank you! I saw it OK the first time but wanted to watch again. So much good info!
I had a feeling you were going to say the Clionadh stained glass
Just here to say that I loved the video!! Thank you for working so hard and giving us so much content

Same
Just a Lil comment to boost engagement. Already watched it and loved the video! Have a great day!
alexmayday007 me too! Great concept and gets you thinking about what you have and what you would repurchase.
thank you!
I love your new project! I can't wait to see how it goes. :)

This is SUCH an awesome idea! I feel like this would be a fun idea for anyone to do with a shop my stash.

You're so 'engaging' to watch... clicked, liked etc. again for you! Happy weekend Hannah! x
I’m glad you re-uploaded. I was super bummed out the other one wouldn’t play for me. This was awesome
Please do a version of this but for brushes!
Ideally I want to own about 30% of what I have now. While watching this, I actually found about 7 palettes I can easily live without.
So I have so many of your videos to catch up on. During this time, I was an essential employee. I love this idea. And after breaking some of my singles, I think I need to rethink my makeup
Love your top/ dress today; you look stunning 🌸🦚

Omg you're so pretty! 😍💖 I love your hair
thank you!
Hannah WHERE is that top from? I need it in my life 😍 p.s. your content is really getting me through this month!
it's a super old sweater from H&M, years and years old! Maybe available on the resale market?

My jaw is DROPPING at the absence of Wild Ginger!!!

I will watch this again, just for the views :) and algorithm count
Azurien same 😂
thank you!
Should be a fun experiment!

Thank you

Just dropping a comment for the algorithm! 😁 also I’m going to join your challenge on Instagram! It’s a very project panner friendly idea 😉
thank you Lauren! xoxo!
Video worked just fine for me but here is an emoji🐱👤
The previous video was fine. If some had a message, it was an error at their end. X
