Interesting that James White is aware of Bryan Denlinger. James White does a pretty good job showing Denlingers flaws in how he interprets things and seeing conspiracy where there isn't any. The King James is by far my favorite translation. I just love the "old school" language. I also prefer the TR. That being said, I love the NKJV, HCSB and the NASB. I've had moments where the "onlyism bug" bite me, and what I've realized was its so far from Truth. There is so much hate and destruction in it. Twisting the scriptures constantly! So sad....😪
What is the TR? IF you are referring to the Textus Receptus - it was printed in 1631, but do you have a copy? While I have many dozens of ancient Bibles, I do NOT have that.
Don't throw out the Geneva Bible of 1560 and 1599. I love it! Also the William Tyndale 1527 NT is available as an updated spelling volume called The October Testament. It even has some of Tyndale's notes.

Bryan Denlinger's logic is very easy to follow. It makes sense. If you're against Jesuits, why would you associate with Jesuits, why collaborate with Jesuits? Simple logic.
I've watched several of Bryan's videos, several of Gail Riplingers videos, a few of Sam Gipp's videos, and so forth. I've read numerous KJVO articles online, was raised KJVO. 12 or so years ago, I started researching Biblical textual issues for myself. I use the KJV but also use the nkjv and MEV based on the TR. I also use the Critical Text versions such as the NASB, the ESV, even the NLT, which I use more and more for just reading. I like the World English Bible, available for free online. I just bought the Literal Standard Version, an update of the YLT, an excellent translation so far. Bryan is blinded by his cultish belief that the kjv is the only Bible that can be used.

You might have misunderstood the video. The person Dr. White is criticizing is someone who heretically holds a version of the bible up above other versions. And in such a way that anyone who disagrees with that one version being the only version of God's word, would be damned. KJVO asserts that you can only have salvation from the scriptures of the KJV bible. These people worship a version, not the God of Scripture. Know who turned me on to James White in 1996? My Independent Fundamental Baptist Bible College I went to. Every semester I went there, the more I saw how bad the "education" I was getting. So whoever they preached against-went out and bought their books. Of course am no longer a IFB.
It just seems like legalism to me. There's no grace in it, it causes divisions among the body. Like Paul asked the Corinthians to be one in understanding and in conviction (or judgement). The body is called to be unified. That's the truth, the reason the church has been SO WEAK for such a long time is because the unity of the church is lost, the love for each other has grown cold and we have become focused on the concept instead of the person of God and we've relied on out own striving instead of living under grace.
I used to be a bit of a KJV onlyist. I wasn't as bad as the kjv onlyists that think that people who used other versions aren't saved. But I did think that kjv was the best version and that the newer versions were inaccurate. I seen the arguments people made such as "The newer versions have missing verses!" or "The newer versions changed these verses!" And I just accepted these arguments as true. But when I actually began to learn what the Greek manuscripts said I've come to the realization that its not the newer versions that are in the wrong, but the kjv. The KJV added a lot of verses or changed verses. One example is 1 John 5:7. In the kjv it is written "father, son, and spirit" but the earlier Greek says something completely different. Now I'm not saying the kjv is a bad bible. Its my personal favorite version to read. But its not the most accurate as kjv onlyists would have you believe. The kjv only ideology is simply fueled by misinformation and lack of understanding of textual criticism.

I like the KJV to be read aloud. But I also like many other versions: for example, the Douay Rheims, a spanish Peshitta translation and the New American Bible (that I've just discovered and I find it startling!).
Hello all I'm a little lost on an issue concerning the Textus Recpetus. According to Dr. White and other scholars the term Textus Receptus first appeared in the Elzevir 1633 edition of the Greek NT. Concerning the editions made by Elzevir, I see no definitive manuscript or published works that Elzevir used to make his New Testament. Does anyone who is keen on the Elzevir editions know which published works he used to create his edition?
The Elzevir Greek NTs are essentially reprints of Beza's printed edition. The places where they differ are very few. Elzevir consulted no manuscripts so far as I know.

@@kundetjenesten Begotten is a very important word though, it denotes that he is God child from his heritage, because we are sons too, and so are angels, and if you only use the word son, that can mean anyone, or an angel, and ad the jehovah witnesses claim, that it was Michael the archangel. So, without having the word begotten in there, that verse can support their doctrin, that it was an angel that sacrifice himself, instead of God in the flesh.
the ironic thing to me, upon reading the comments, isn't the profound ignorance of church history, archeological findings since the 1500s, and the development of best practices in bible translation that are shown by those who think there can only be one manuscript, like those who are kjvo. We NOW have some 5000 in Greek alone, dating back to the second century with a possibility of even the FIRST century. Another standard is other language Bibles that were translated from the Greek and Aramaic texts in the first and second centuries - and later - before the Catholic church began to insert IT'S opinions, etc. into the text - and before their method of copying inserted errors upon errors into the text. WE KNOW they did this - sometimes intentionally - in 1522 or so Erasmus wrote about WHY and WHEN he inserted the CJ into 1 John 5:7 - while admitting that his Greek text containing that, was unlike any other Greek text in the world - THAT's in the KJB but doesn't belong there as its NOT inspired - NOT in any Bible ever before about 800 AD - neither are the other 33000 or so words ADDED over the years by scribes and priests - and religious quacks. NO scripture and verse is available to prove that - EITHER way - verses about GOD preserving his word are always a twisting of the verse, like Ps 12: 6&7 Preserve "THEM" (or "US" in many accurate translations) can ONLY refer to PEOPLE - but the KJO cultists claim it refers to words - IMPOSSIBLE in Hebrew to be so. One of the most bizarre KJV only claims I've personally heard is "the KJV is in biblical English". If that's the case then you need to add Shakespeare's plays to the canon.

I'm glad to hear James explain how there is a cultic version of KJV onlyism and a non-cultic one. However, I've watched, listened, and read a lot of Ruckman, Gip, and Riplinger material (not all, but a lot), and I have never come across where they say or imply that if you don't agree with them on the KJV, or if you take Dr. White's position, that you are going to hell. I'm highly interested in seeing where this is the case. Even if this belief cannot be directly found in their material, it would also be interesting to me to see it being taught by any of their followers. A 'satanist'? Are you kidding m8? I've heard this kind of language by KJV-onlyists before. It's unbecoming of a Christian. And yes, I do read the KJV bible. It was the first bible I ever read and it's probably my favorite translation overall, simply because it's so sharp and poetic. To me, it just sounds like God's word should sound. However, I do not place it on a pedestal or anything and I give newer translation a chance (mostly the ESV and sometimes the NASB). KJV-onlyism is a stumbling block for anyone who tries to engage in serious apologetics with people like Jehovah's Witnesses, which I happen to do regularly. In cases like this, the NKJV is much better because it supplies you with footnotes showing where the TR differs from the Nestles text and the majority text. KJV-onlyism also places a massive restriction on you in terms of learning materials. I've seen KJV-onlyists refuse to try out excellent study materials like the ESV study bible solely based on the translation. You're seriously missing out on great resources by placing this unnecessary burden upon yourself.

I have many questions for the KJV Onlyist, knowing that most of these questions they would not be able to answer with a legitimate response. But one in particular is that if you believe that the KJV is the only perfect Bible then what did people (in particular in English speaking countries) have all of those years prior to 1611?
People were angry the first time their Latin version was updated ages before the KJV. In the future, when NIV sounds old-fashioned, some people won't want it updated to the next "modern" language. James White jokes about some people preferring the "re-inspired" Klingon version.

What's crazy is that I've been praying that the Holy Spirit reveals the answer this particular issue to me. This morning, before I went to work I was looking at videos of the man he used as an example, husky something, talking about the trinity and husky did not have a firm grasp of the Godhead so he was foolishly misconstruing scripture to make a point of something he thinks many believe when they do not. The trinity (Godhead) is three IN one and he kept making it seem as if many Christian people see them as separate. Yes Christ was the Godhead bodily, but what happened at Jesus baptism? The Godhead was revealed, the voice of the Father, Christ in the flesh, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. They are all God but husky was using poor logic to try to disprove something that i don't even believe. He kept saying the Trinity is polytheistic. Then I stumble on this video and many others.

When I read the Holy Bible, Our Lord wants unity in His Church. Christians attacking each other is not a good thing. Why don’t we help build each other up in the faith as maturing Christians? Also, we need missionaries out in the field evangelizing. The missionaries in India and South America have lost their lives in recent years, trying to share the Gospel with those who have not heard it. I think of the Korean ladies that went to Afghanistan or Pakistan and tried to share their faith. They were persecuted and lucky to get out of there alive. This is work that needs to be done, evangelism. Tearing down fellow Christians is painful to hear.

I never understood the KJV argument. If the KJV is perfect. Why aren't the Bible's preceding it perfect as well. Why did the find the need to make the KJV, if the Geneva was perfect? KJV is not modern English. Stop pretending like it is. There many modern songs using the expression suffer the children, because the average person doesn't know that suffer meant let in 1611. They should at least revise it using modern English. What argument can KJVO bring up that says that we should be using expressions like fetch a compass or suffer the children.

I used to defend those other translations until I saw videos that pointed out the outright lies and deceit in every one of them. Only the KJV says to rightfully divide the word of truth. Pretty important piece of instruction there missing from your favorite modern bible. James White was laughing at the absurdity of "Denlinger". "Denlinger" was establishing an argument of rejecting James White because he is of "unsound character" because of his associations with Jesuits and Catholics, therefor James White is bad and his arguments cannot even be entertained... I've read numerous KJVO articles online, was raised KJVO. 12 or so years ago, I started researching Biblical textual issues for myself. I use the KJV but also use the nkjv and MEV based on the TR. I also use the Critical Text versions such as the NASB, the ESV, even the NLT, which I use more and more for just reading. I like the World English Bible, available for free online. I just bought the Literal Standard Version, an update of the YLT, an excellent translation so far.

You might have misunderstood the video. The person Dr. White is criticizing is someone who heretically holds a version of the bible up above other versions. And in such a way that anyone who disagrees with that one version being the only version of God's word, would be damned. Like Paul asked the Corinthians to be one in understanding and in conviction (or judgement). The body is called to be unified. That's the truth, the reason the church has been SO WEAK for such a long time is because the unity of the church is lost, the love for each other has grown cold and we have become focused on the concept instead of the person of God and we've relied on out own striving instead of living under grace.
I used to be a bit of a KJV onlyist. I wasn't as bad as the kjv onlyists that think that people who used other versions aren't saved. But I did think that kjv was the best version and that the newer versions were inaccurate. I seen the arguments people made such as "The newer versions have missing verses!" or "The newer versions changed these verses!" And I just accepted these arguments as true. But when I actually began to learn what the Greek manuscripts said I've come to the realization that its not the newer versions that are in the wrong, but the kjv. The KJV added a lot of verses or changed verses. One example is 1 John 5:7. In the kjv it is written "father, son, and spirit" but the earlier Greek says something completely different. Now I'm not saying the kjv is a bad bible. Its my personal favorite version to read. But its not the most accurate as kjv onlyists would have you believe. The kjv only ideology is simply fueled by misinformation and lack of understanding of textual criticism.

I have been convicted from the King James Bible, have been inspired by the King James Bible, and ministered from the King James Bible. It is better English than the majority of modern versions, and certainly as if not more readable than those versions. The NIV reads like a communique from the European Union.

Hello all I'm a little lost on an issue concerning the Textus Recpetus. According to Dr. White and other scholars the term Textus Receptus first appeared in the Elzevir 1633 edition of the Greek NT. Concerning the editions made by Elzevir, I see no definitive manuscript or published works that Elzevir used to make his New Testament. Does anyone who is keen on the Elzevir editions know which published works he used to create his edition?
The Elzevir Greek NTs are essentially reprints of Beza's printed edition. The places where they differ are very few. Elzevir consulted no manuscripts so far as I know.

Begotten is a very important word though, it denotes that he is God child from his heritage, because we are sons too, and so are angels, and if you only use the word son, that can mean anyone, or an angel, and ad the jehovah witnesses claim, that it was Michael the archangel. So, without having the word begotten in there, that verse can support their doctrin, that it was an angel that sacrifice himself, instead of God in the flesh.
the ironic thing to me, upon reading the comments, isn't the profound ignorance of church history, archeological findings since the 1500s, and the development of best practices in bible translation that are shown by those who think there can only be one manuscript, like those who are kjvo. The standard is the oldest majority text we can find in the original languages. We NOW have some 5000 in Greek alone, dating back to the second century with a possibility of even the FIRST century. Another standard is other language Bibles that were translated from the Greek and Aramaic texts in the first and second centuries - and later - before the Catholic church began to insert IT'S opinions, etc. into the text - and before their method of copying inserted errors upon errors into the text.
WE KNOW they did this - sometimes intentionally - in 1522 or so Erasmus wrote about WHY and WHEN he inserted the CJ into 1 John 5:7 - while admitting that his Greek text containing that, was unlike any other Greek text in the world - THAT's in the KJB but doesn't belong there as its NOT inspired - NOT in any Bible ever before about 800 AD - neither are the other 33000 or so words ADDED over the years by scribes and priests - and religious quacks.
NO scripture and verse is available to prove that - EITHER way - verses about GOD preserving his word are always a twisting of the verse, like Ps 12: 6&7 Preserve "THEM" (or "US" in many accurate translations) can ONLY refer to PEOPLE - but the KJO cultists claim it refers to words - IMPOSSIBLE in Hebrew to be so.
Scripture and verse is SUBJECT to the study of its sources - and those sources used in the KJB were terribly corrupt - having come from 8 partial Catholic Greek texts assembled by a Catholic humanist theologian and dedicated to Pope Leo X - and subsequently approved for use in all Catholic institutions.

More false statements. Wesley has no use for the KJB and made his own translation - MOST of the revivals were based on the Geneva - NOT the KJB. The Textus Receptus was corrupted and that is right from Erasmus himself - the author of it. Johnathan Edwards was a Puritan - and as a group, they despised the KJB. They used the Geneva. Whitfield used the Greek and probably the Geneva. His quotation to Franklin: "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" is neither Geneva NOR KJB.
YOU would have a hard time finding a revival based on the KJB. I would suggest that extends to Major Missions as well.

As I understand it there is ONE Fragment of a copy of John previously dated to about 110 - that is NOW being considered for a date of 78 AD. I made the comment offhandedly - but I know its an accurate recollection - of P 52 if I remember right - - finding the support would take time as my office is being re-drywalled. I'm glad to hear James explain how there is a cultic version of KJV onlyism and a non-cultic one. However, I've watched, listened, and read a lot of Ruckman, Gip, and Riplinger material (not all, but a lot), and I have never come across where they say or imply that if you don't agree with them on the KJV, or if you take Dr. White's position, that you are going to hell. I'm highly interested in seeing where this is the case. Even if this belief cannot be directly found in their material, it would also be interesting to me to see it being taught by any of their followers. And yes, I do read the KJV bible. It was the first bible I ever read and it's probably my favorite translation overall, simply because it's so sharp and poetic. To me, it just sounds like God's word should sound. However, I do not place it on a pedestal or anything and I give newer translation a chance (mostly the ESV and sometimes the NASB).
KJV-onlyism is a stumbling block for anyone who tries to engage in serious apologetics with people like Jehovah's Witnesses, which I happen to do regularly. In cases like this, the NKJV is much better because it supplies you with footnotes showing where the TR differs from the Nestles text and the majority text.
KJV-onlyism also places a massive restriction on you in terms of learning materials. I've seen KJV-onlyists refuse to try out excellent study materials like the ESV study bible solely based on the translation. You're seriously missing out on great resources by placing this unnecessary burden upon yourself.

But one in particular is that if you believe that the KJV is the only perfect Bible then what did people (in particular in English speaking countries) have all of those years prior to 1611?

What's crazy is that I've been praying that the Holy Spirit reveals the answer this particular issue to me. This morning, before I went to work I was looking at videos of the man he used as an example, husky something, talking about the trinity and husky did not have a firm grasp of the Godhead so he was foolishly misconstruing scripture to make a point of something he thinks many believe when they do not. The trinity (Godhead) is three IN one and he kept making it seem as if many Christian people see them as separate. Yes Christ was the Godhead bodily, but what happened at Jesus baptism? The Godhead was revealed, the voice of the Father, Christ in the flesh, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove. They are all God but husky was using poor logic to try to disprove something that i don't even believe. He kept saying the Trinity is polytheistic. Then I stumble on this video and many others.

When I read the Holy Bible, Our Lord wants unity in His Church. Christians attacking each other is not a good thing. Why don’t we help build each other up in the faith as maturing Christians? Also, we need missionaries out in the field evangelizing. The missionaries in India and South America have lost their lives in recent years, trying to share the Gospel with those who have not heard it. I think of the Korean ladies that went to Afghanistan or Pakistan and tried to share their faith. They were persecuted and lucky to get out of there alive. This is work that needs to be done, evangelism. Tearing down fellow Christians is painful to hear.

I used to defend those other translations until I saw videos that pointed out the outright lies and deceit in every one of them. Only the KJV says to rightfully divide the word of truth. Pretty important piece of instruction there missing from your favorite modern bible. I could go on, but I would rather that you people with your new versions explain to me why you need it, especially since it is causing so much arguing and name calling. Give me a reason.

Is the Greens literal translation bible written on the same text as the KJV an acceptable alternative made in 1993, I know in my Bible there are 824,805 words, A reasonable estimate would be 1000 or outdated, another 1000 would be on their way moving out of the dictionary & daily usage, Why is it that no one is talks about this, Why do we hear everything but this, Solve the number one problem at a time, First things first, & Then solve the rest.
