    Great video. Thanks for posting - I was quoted $1500 by the dealership to do this - did it myself for the $80 part. I also did the backrest heater which is not covered here. Back heater is super simple while you're there - there's a green plastic connector that follows from the heating pad on the back. Unplug that - it only has two wires as it does not have the heat sensor. Connected them as per the video for the seat element - black to black and yellow to red. Plug the connector back in. Works perfect.

      How did you slide the new pad into the seat cushion? I was considering using something like cereal box cardboard to assist sliding the pad in, and then pull the cardboard out once the pad was in place.

    Wow you took the entire seat out of the truck, I replaced the seat cushion in my 12 Ram Cummins without taking the seat out, the HOG rings were a pain in the A but it's easier than pulling that heavy seat completely out and putting it back in . I thought about doing this but it slows down the cooling of the seat not completely but enough to notice a difference.

    • @KendorFarms
      @KendorFarms  4 місяці тому

      Yea it was more for the video but did make it easier and the seat is super easy to get out. Cooling still works good, haven't noticed a difference, but each to their own

    I have a 2015 1500. My passenger side works perfect, driver’s side will come on for 10 mins or so and just when it starts to get a little warm it shuts off. Any thoughts??

    • @KendorFarms
      @KendorFarms  2 роки тому +1

      It’s highly likely it’s in the seat heated pad. It’s probably getting too hot and tripping the thermo sensor. It could also draw too much current when it gets hot and trips the breaker. Good chance the seat pad needs to be replaced.

    Question. My heated seat lights don’t turn off but the seat NEVER gets hot. So what do you do about the back pad. Because it also doesn’t get hot. 4610125ac. Is the part number but I’m not finding anything for the back. Or does the back not get hot. Just the bottom

    • @KendorFarms
      @KendorFarms  2 роки тому +1

      Yea the back should get hot too. If there's a probably with either heated seat pad neither one will work. There are fuses involved which could be checked and there is also a brain to control it under the seat

      @@KendorFarms so what you’re saying is I should have it diagnosed and not just throw parts at it?

    • @KendorFarms
      @KendorFarms  2 роки тому

      Well that's always plan A, if throwing parts at it is cheaper then go with plan B. Atleast if it's diagnosed you could do the repair yourself

    Are you sure there is a back heater? I didn't think the back side had a heating element, that wire is just for the lumbar adjuster. Also If you look at the controls it only shows the bottom of the seat heater not the lumbar area. Just saying!!! Maybe I'm wrong.

      @@KendorFarms Just Installed mine this afternoon. Works great warmed my ash real fast, better than the OE one ever did. It does feel like the back heats up, but I'm still not convinced that it has an actual heating element in the back. I think it's just osmosis that makes it feel like it does. Did you see an actual heating element?
