Wow wot a piece to take on but as always you are winning it’s looking very beautiful. Looking forward to seeing it all finished take care and see you soon 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
I agree, that this is a beautiful piece of wood, I don't think the remaining cracks will be a problem. Really looking forward to the finished product... It will be stunning! Great vid also!!
WooHoo! Your first trilogy, Doug! Fantastic looking bowl so far, even if it is giving you trouble. Looking forward to the exciting conclusion Cherry Burl Bowl 3: Return of the Bubba.
LOL, everyone loves Bubba! Everyone loves this burl, too, from the sounds of it. Just a beautiful piece of wood and a beautiful project. C'mon, Bubba, come work your magic on it next.
Doing a second part is much better then to hurry trough the projrct my friend. I love watching your videos, even though i am not a wood worker at all. I am also curious where it is leaking. Maybe we'll find out in the next episode. It will be another beautiful piece of art Doug. Thank you very much for sharing. 👍
Doug, Nice job! Apparently way more work than you thought. I have the same issue. Twice the time, twice the money :). Can't wait to see the inside turning. Thanks for the video.
You Crack me up! I love the design on the outside. The cracks actually give the bowl some character. I love how you mixed the resin into the bowl. It’s looking beautiful! I can’t wait to see the finished product. Have a good weekend!
I agree with you, I think the wider base is more aesthetically pleasing, but also will make that large pedestal bowl more stable. Happily awaiting the final product!
Hi Doug, That is huge and looks amazing. I didn't get a notification, AGAIN!!!!!, for Part 1 so you can guess what I'm doing next and looking forward to seeing it finished. Take care Doug. Cheers, Huw
Wow D, you are definitely wearing yourself out on this one! I'm glad you're sticking with it despite the continuing issues. I like watching you think on camera and try to talk out the problems you're having and how to fix them. I do that talking through problems with myself quite often. I love your channel and despite keeping me hanging on for another week, I can't wait to see what happens next! Thumbs up as always!
Well, I watched part two before part 1. I've never been right lol. I look forward to part 3 and I will go watch part 1. It is beautiful and I'm hoping you can get it done on part 3. I always enjoy watching you work!
Next time just get a bucket of CA glue and fill them all up Looks great so far Doug!! That burl is beautiful in itself Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Your night have to fill that hole with resin. It could have moisture inside. Lot of repairs on this one and large and in charge piece. Beautiful Doug.. hope all is well, take care
@@PohlBarnProductions you’re welcome Doug. I wouldn’t sweat it , it happens. I’m sure you have a lot on your plate . We can only do so much … Take care.
Thank You Dennis, my OCD is playing hell with me on this one and it's causing me to over think the process for perfection, I spent and entire day fixing cracks and re-sanding it each time it cracked, UGH ! lol
Thank You Ken, I might stretch it out a few more episodes! LOL , yes I wish I had one, I have this piece of RED WOOD BURL I refuse to touch until I get one, 12 x12 x 5 I think it is somewhere in that ball park, sent to me by a viewer in CA,
looks so good! and waiting to work on it might get that strange drip situation to stop. I know its sealed on the outside, but when you get deep enough on the inside the drip may return. extra time may get it to stop. :-) cant wait to see it completed! your work is always amazing.
Fingers crossed! Thank You Nicole, the only thing I can think of for that resin being runny is the acetone some how reached it down in side but it should have evaporated and allowed the resin to set up and cure like the rest has.
It’s looking great so far… I’m looking forward to your next round with this beautiful beast! As far as the leak… my theory is that it’s caused by solar flares… (sorry, family joke… anything not easily explained is always caused by solar flares.) 😉😁
I don't know if you're trying to show us your full commitment or how much you kick butt. Maybe you're trying to earn a name for yourself. "Tenacious D"? Regardless, I declare that Doug deserves a problem-free project, soon! Seriously, Doug, solid work, commitment and demonstration of many repair methods. You've taught me a lot with this trying piece. One last thought. We had discussed resin shrinkage, specifically when we were both working with a pear-resin blank. I finally cut into mine today and discovered my 2x4 waste blocks had turned into spurce-crete. I guess three days to set meant that resin was stabilizing the whole mess. Anyway, I learned from it, have it cleaned up for a second pour, and I'll order then next batch after clicking post. Have a great weekend.
Yay! A series! 😄 It's looking gorgeous so far. Glad you are taking us on the whole journey instead of trying to rush it. Thank you!
Thank You Leigh, You are so welcome!

You mentioned adding acetone. I wonder if some of that soaked in and mixed with the colored resin and is causing your leak.
Thank You, it's shouldn't have bothered the existing resin like that but it's a possibility, and I have though of it
Hhmmm...good catch..I forgot about that...it's a mystery for sure...following for his reply...🌿🌿🌿
Temps dropping? Shop cooler? Not stirred enough? LoL Who knows?
This is sure ending up pretty, Doug! 💜

Thanks for the tips! Thank You Lois, sound like a new excuse for me as well !
What an awesome piece! How weird that its bleeding red. Maybe wel find out why when you turn the inside. Great stuff Doug
Thank You Luke, lets hope it's not a whole cup of resin in there that didn't set up ! that would be messy
You should name this the Bleeding Burl Bowl. It looks beautiful so far!

Thank You Jay, I've only used pine a couple times, I find it leaks resin of it's own and it tends to soak up the resin if it's dry.
@@PohlBarnProductions Yup, I learned the hard way. Oh well, new resin is on the way and the blanks are prepped for a second pour.
