You are the best teacher ever. I’m not your colouring and I’m not your shape, but I want all your fabric and all your patterns 😂😂. Thank you for all that you do to for us novice sewers.
I appreciate seeing your pattern and fabric manipulation without distracting false fingernail extensions and colourful nail polish. I obsess on the distraction on other channels. Some beautiful lessons with distracting nails prevents me returning to those videos for repeat instruction. Thanks for this interesting video. You tell the story of cutting and construction very well. Bright lights too!
It’s a beautiful dress. Love the sleeves. I like how you are teaching how to alter a pattern without fuss to fit your body. As I was learning to sew I was amazed what I could do to a multi size pattern to adjust it to my body. If only someone would have taught me those tricks! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. 😊
I love it !!! Beautiful construction... perfect grading for your cute figure... darling make for you... the more I see you reason out grading for your figure with a big 4 n woven you give me hope for finally making up my 80s n 90s patterns that I love... thank you thank you thank you... your camera n lighting looked just fine to me... happy dance you have such a stunning dress to get out n about to enjoy... 😊
It turned out absolutely gorgeous, Marie! You did an amazing job of blending all the sizes so it would fit you perfectly 👌 And the fabric is so pretty! 😊
Cute dress... Looks like something you could wear to a fun garden tea party. The sleeves are definitely screaming 80's. Not something I would be comfortable with, but they're cute on you.
I love the floral fabric. 😍 It’s got so many pretty colors that could be used for coordinating pieces/accessories. I can never wear this type of commercially made dress without big adjustments either. I’m a pear shape & usually swim in the top part if the hips fit.🙄 Your dress looks very pretty & feminine. Thanks for sharing your work. 🎊
Absolutely beautiful looks great on you. The fabric, print looks great on you. Loved how you took on the pattern and still made it work for your body. The birds at the beginning are beautiful too. The lighting looks good on my screen. X
Hello Marie! Your dress is so pretty and your decision to make use of the multi-sizing certainly paid off. The fit is fantastic and the colorful fabric is a nice expected bonus 😊. Thanks for sharing another great video and enjoy your new dress❤
That is so pretty! I love the fabric. The pleating is really flattering. The sleeves certainly are very 80’s, aren’t they. I had a taffeta skirt & top outfit with sleeves like that too 😂
Absolutely gorgeous, both the dress and the maker. 💙❤️💙 Thank you for this tutorial, I think I’m going to get this pattern and make it. I’ve got the same issue with arms so tight fitting sleeves rarely fit me.
I think you have the best sewing channel. I have learned so much from watching your videos and it is notised in my sewing and my curriage to even start cutting my patterns and fabric has improved🥰
I’ve been working with a linen blend and have been using a small grid ruler with my hole puncher. I thought that might be weakening the pincher so cut out a piece of leather and tested it and it was fine. Marked the hole son my top and it cut holes in the fabric. Duh, live and learn. Your projects are always so,brilliant. Love the bright colors and design of this dress.
I love the choice of fabric and love the dress style. I learn so much from you and get so much inspiration. Thank you! Please keep these videos coming ❤
Happy Friday and my relaxing time to watch your sewing. Dress looks nice and it goes with your personality. Looks wonderful with your hair and skin. Thank you again.
This was a great video. Fabulous dress. Love the fabric and it looks wonderful on you. Congratulations. You are an inspiration to me as a newbie sewist.
I just searched for Simplicity 6892, to no avail. Lol😂. It’s Butterick!!! But never mind, I found it, bought it and hope mine turns out as lovely as yours did. I never thought to check the width of my zipper tapes….big learning point there. Thx.
Just love to watch your videos, so thorough and well done. I honestly do not see that there is any difference in the lighting. I do not think it is too dark I can see just fine.
I haven't noticed your videos being too dark, it looks fine today. when I saw that pattern I thought sheesh, I'd just put it up all those lines overwhelms me...
You seem to use Butterick patterns more often than others, is there a reason for this, when I sewed years ago, Butterick always seemed more involved? But I can see where they would be more interesting to someone with your talent👍🏻
We ( maybe just me but I doubt it )wish we went in at the waist and out at the hips like you! 🩷 Love the fabric and colors too. The new lighting is working really well. 👍 The colours come across bright and clear. I have 2 questions but I'll just ask one. Have you ever tried a womens pattern rather than a misses? I'm thinking of the bust area. Ty 🩷🇨🇦
As it sometimes happens, seeing the pattern and the fabric at the beginning I was not really impressed. Neither of these would draw my attention while searching for a new garment to make. However, as the video progressed, I began to really like them both. The finished garment is so very cute, and it looks really good on you. I assume the sleeves were lined to offer a bit more stability and “puffing “ ability. Another winner.
I have had this pattern in my stash for a while. I have a size 18 bust, size 20 waist, and size 22 hips. Straight skirts are not my friend. Your sleeve choice coupled with the straight skirt helps me to see how this style could be flattering. Thank you.
Beautiful make, I need to gain the confidence and grade the patterns for fit. Do you ever trace your patterns? I do and honestly it’s time consuming and I am realizing I don’t like tracing. I am always looking forward to watching your channel, thanks for such inspiring content.
Thank you, no I don't trace patterns. I know other people do and if they enjoy it good for them. But for me it seems like a waste of time, especially because if I ever wanted to make it again in a different size usually I can find them on sale at some point. But everyone has the choice to do it their own favorite way.
I'm sorry, I'm really not familiar with that machine. But I do know that there are a lot of vintage needles out there. If you figure out the size number and you can't find it new, you might be able to find it on eBay
Very beautiful dress, Marie!!! Your choice for the print is beautiful. Adds to the femininity of the pattern. You really nailed this one! May I ask: Where did you purchase your fabric? What company manufactured it? Thanks so much! 🥰
Thank you, I purchased the fabric at Joann.. I don't know the manufacturer, it was in with some of their cottons that they had on display. Unfortunately I don't have a name for you. But perhaps if you're at the store, and you can show the clerk the picture of it maybe they know. Sorry 😳

Oh. Look at all those hummingbirds!

Very classy! I always love a floral pattern on a dark background. It seemed as though it would be complicated but you make it all look easy.
You have me rolling at “ample hips”! I’m in that club too! Pretty fabric. This is Sally, my comments post under my husbands name.
Another fantastic make Marie and as usual some very good tips. Thank you and look forward to next week's make 😊
I like that so much , going to get that pattern beautiful🥰💯
Ooooh my gosh your dress is absolutely beautiful! It fits you perfectly!! 😍

Oh my!!! Thick leather for the backing, like a man's belt. 😳
@@mybucoliclife it was jacket leather. Now I know what my mistake was.
Wow that style is very becoming on you. Thank you for walking us through the process. I learned some good stuff today.
Really pretty on you! Love the fabric! Good job!
Absolutely beautiful!!!!❤❤
I love this dress 👗 it's very pretty on you. The sleeves are stunning 😊
That’s so cute, and it fits you so nicely. I would still put a snap where the front crosses.
By far one of my favorite projects, the fabric is beautiful 👍🏻
I like the dress. Marie, you chose a pretty fabric.

I love your hair up. Great work.
Just love this dress. I think it needs pockets but it might be too much.

I just buy patterns as they are on sale and then pick from my stash at random as I make things. No real favorites though. 😊
It looks amazing!

@@mybucoliclife thanks for answering, when on sale I can buy two, I am done with tracing. Happy sewing.😊
Love all your videos very much thank you :) Would you know if we can still buy needles for a New Williams sewing machine? Thank you 🦋🌸 Caroline.

Marie, do you have a favorite erasable pen? There are so many to choose from on Amazon. Thank you. Dress is fabulous. Looks great on you.
I buy generic, and in bulk...they are most all made by the same formula that look like the ones I use.
Beautiful pleats love the overall look, I am not a fan of puffy sleeves 😮
Video is still a little dark.
your video is still a little dark at the table
Fabulous fit ❤
