Thanks for showing your adjustment to lower the waist dart at 5:18 and facing at 16:49. Wasn’t looking for that info, but just what I need for a project I’m starting. Beautiful dress. 😊
That's so cute! You have a great eye for picking fabric. I gave in to all the social media hubbub over the DVF wrap dress, and bought that pattern. I'm a fan of long sleeves, and I was drawn to the cuff. The DVF bust darts, however, are in the side seams, so lowering them will be different for me. Curses gravity!
Wow you look beautiful in that dress. If the dress look that look on me, I would make it my staple dress for all season and reasons, Thank you so much for your work and answering questions I never asked but should have. Blessings on your and yours.
It definitely looks like a 1940's style dress. When I was young I had a real 1940's blouse that was very like the bodice on this dress. Very becoming style that looks excellent on you.
I love a collar, they can be a very flattering feature and for my body type it seems to suit me, so I always try to find tops and dresses with collars - I have never sewn a collar but would like to try at some point!
What a lovely dress... you are such a smart lady. Your sleeve band is perfect. I am getting this pattern. Thank you so much for your fantastic sew along tutorials.
That fabric is beautiful 😻 The whole dart position change thing is 🤯 but I’m no garment maker.😂 Apparently, according to those I’ve watched for years, many UA-cam sew-along people have the fabric shortage issue at one time or another. I think it’s probably a “real world problem,” so demonstrating a method for saving the project is quite helpful. The clips for flexing and use of pinking shears is also very helpful for people who didn’t grow up with a seamstress in the family, unlike yours truly. Thanks for sharing your experience and your lovely new dress. 🎉
That is a beautiful dress! I have a wedding to go to in Oct and looking for something to make. I think in the right fabric this one might work and be comfortable for dancing lol
I love the dress 1940 is my favorite era. About the darts not matching, top to skirt. I believe that when you did the bust adjustment and you moved the dart down you also moved it to the left. At that time ( I know you didn't hear me) I tried to tell you to switch to the middle dart instead of the one designed for your size. That would have made up the quarter inch difference.
Thanks again for the great sewing. I watch very closely while you make your bust adjustments. You make me laugh at myself too. Jealous of your fabulous fabric. Can you give me a place to get some fabric colors.
Hallo teresa here loving your garment making I know you have a serger and it’s an older one is it a more solid make cauld you show us some serging as I don’t have one and need one I don’t know much about and have never used one.many thanks teresa
I was taught to wash and dry on hot as well. I want my prewash to be the roughest my fabric is going to be handled and I want ALL the shrink out of it. I’ve been looked at like I have two heads when I suggest pre-washing like that. It seems the current advice is to wash the way you will wash the finished garment. That’s fine, as far as it goes, but I want to make sure there are no shrinkage surprises if my clothes are poorly handled in the laundry in the future.
Marie, maybe I’m wrong, but wouldn’t it have been simpler to just drop the dart point by one inch and redraw the dart legs to that point, not changing anything else on the bodice piece? That is, assuming the bodice fits you otherwise.
Sure, if all I needed was to lower the bust. I wanted to add some extra fullness below to compensate for a fuller bust though so adding the extra length was needed for me. But each body is different. :)
@@mybucoliclifeI was concerned with the way you had dropped the dart point as it added 1” to the bottom of the bodice. I see it is not an issue for you. I have dropped the dart point by cutting between dart and under arm. For me, it works better as I do need the extra length in the torso. With sewing, there is usually more than one way to do things! Beautiful dress! Fantastic on you!
So pretty and so feminine. It looks comfortable, too.
That looks fabulous and your detailed explanations are great, another pattern on my list
That dress just lifts your mood straight away. Absolutely gorgeous. Colours fantastic. Roosters love it too clearly ❤❤😂
So true. It makes you smile.
Great dress wow
Super cute
Looks great on you. Enjoyed seeing your dart adjustment on the front. I will remember this as I need more room in that area too! 😂
I like this one a lot! ❤️
Very nice. I personally would crochet with wool the edges instead of the bias tape, and finish with fringes. ❤
Love the dress and fabrics. The accent blue- nice. Good tip about stabilizing the front diagonal edge.🧡👍🐓 the rooster found this one to crow about 😅
Love the dress and fabric can't wait for next video learning so much
Beautiful fabric beautiful dress. Looks great on you😊😅😅😊😊❤❤
Very cute wrap dress! Great instructions too! Thanks 💕😊

Hi Marie, another great job done. L like your way to show us to sew........ 😘
Adorable! Love your roosters too.🥰
I am as ‘the bigger and longer the skirt the better’ kind of person myself, but I love the dress on you. Looks great 👍🏻
Love the dress! Beautiful! Also, I really appreciate your camera angles and skills. Thank you for sharing your techniques.
Very cute, looks like good coverage for a wrap dress.
I would never have figured out how to do that bust adjustment. Thanks for sharing
Beautiful dress, it looks very nice on you. I like the way you did your collar. I think the rooster liked you dress too.
Love that dress and the fabric is summery. Love your way of explaining which and every seam.

Definitely a win❣️👏👏
You look wonderful, a great pattern, beautiful fabric, excellent fit. Thank you Marie for your fabulous channel. ❤️😁🌹
I love everything about this!
This dress is beautiful ❤
This is perfectly timed. I've been looking for a wrap dress to do for summer. Thank you again for so much great information.
Beautiful dress on you! I love that you use natural fabrics like cotton in your garment making. I am really getting into linen now.
Beautiful.
Really like this one! Gonna go find the pattern. Been learning so much from you - my sewing has gotten much more clean and precise, thank you

Looks great on you!!! Lovely colors

I would think so, but it was actually the back darts that weren't lining up. Which was odd. Oh well, the dress still turned out cute.
So cute!!

I am a sales rack at Joann's shopper, pretty much. Enjoy!
would you show us your daughter's finished wedding dress? I bet it turned out beautiful.

Lovely dress and fabric. Can you share where you got the fabric. Thank you
Love the dress and fabric. May we know where the fabric comes from.
That was a Joann cotton.
