Although I'm not in a position to own any travel trailer, (didn't think of traveling the country till retirement, didn't to the finances) this video is so much better than other videos by people who are into a house on wheels and what they are into for Must Haves. Your approach is real and PRACTICAL, thanks, having fun watching.
Here is a mod that I have not seen anywhere except on my nephew's trailer. It is an AC Soft Start which I hear costs about $350 to add on to your AC. It gradually brings your AC up to full throttle without the bone jarring start up that wakes up a light sleeper. Heard of this?
Its always fun to see and share how people modify and make their Casitas' home away from home. I'm looking into getting a propane adapter for my gas Honda eu2000...pricey! Thanks for the share.
Thank you. Here is a link to the box on Amazon. amzn.to/3noneSx The box is currently unavailable but this will give you all the information. The box Overall Dimensions: 23.6"(L) x 16"(W) x 18"(H)
Thank you for posting this video. I've yet to purchase my own Casita. But plan on buying a brand new one with what ever upgrades they offer. I was hoping to see links to items you purchased for your Casita. Can you possibly add them to you next video?
Glad it was helpful! We opted to do a website with all the links because of the number of links. The website is casitarvlife.com On the top left of the main screen is a tab labeled "ITEMS WE USE". This will provide you with most of the links to items we use in the Casita. If you need any other links drop me an email at greg@casitarvlife.com and I will send it to you.
Gas fumes from a gas can used with the portable generator basically killed my brother on 09 Oct 2021. They were in his SUV. He had a Casita he was towing, which I inherited.
Really nice presentation in your series of very helpful videos. If you haven’t already covered it, I’d love to know more about the brand and usage of your back up camera. I now need to hitch up by myself and would love any helpful strategies for doing it as easily as possible.
Sorry I missed your comment. The Andersen Hitch came with the trailer but Andersen has a list of dealers on the their website and I also know it is available from etrailer.com. The ladder came from Amazon and here is the link www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082R44JMB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Email me at Greg@casitarvlife.com if you have any other questions.
I noticed you were saying you could run your AC unit off of your propane generator…Don’t you need a soft start component installed to the AC unit in order to actually do that with a 2200 watt generator?
I have ran it numerous times and have never overloaded the generator. I do make sure I am not using anything else that draws AC current while I run the AC unit.
@@CasitaRvLife ..Very interesting…All along I’ve been reading and hearing that to use a generator to start up an AC you need a 3000 watt or more to handle its initial usage of power then it mellows down to where a smaller generator can handle it and especially the slightly lower power from using propane…Maybe the AC unit in the Casita is smaller or something?..I thought that it would just shut the generator down in trying to get the AC up and running…That’s good news!
Thank you for a great walk around video. My wife and I are trying to find a Independence model. We are old and don't want to crawl over each other in the middle of the night . How long is your twin bed, I am 73 inches tall? Thank you.
The dry weight on the trailer is about 2500 lbs and the tongue weight with additions is about 340 lbs with all tanks empty. When I fill the fresh water tank which is in the rear of the trailer the overall weight goes up by about 200 lbs and the tongue weight goes down by about 20 lbs. Fully loaded for a one month trip the trailer weighs about 2900 lbs. I have towed it with my 2018 Jeep Wrangler across country 6 times with no issues. I use the Andersen weight distribution hitch which also has anti sway functions included. I have never had any issues towing.
Thanks so much. I'm binge watching many of these videos!

Thank you! You too!
Thank you. Very informative!

Great idea on the extension cord reels for the fresh water hose. Would love to get rid of my Coachmen and get a Casita. Smaller and simpler!
Thanks. We like having a small camper that we can take to out of the way places.

I am so sorry to hear that. We only use a propane generator and the tanks for outside.

Coming soon! That video will be out in a few weeks.
Where do you store the accessories you showed? In your tow vehicle?
Some are stored in the vehicle some are in the box on the front of the trailer and some are stored in the rear box we added
Can you send a link for the metal box you put onto the Carlson tray?
The box I bought is no longer available but here is a link for a similar box. amzn.to/3liPXq4
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. Is that a 17' or 19'?
17 foot.

Thanks for watching.
so good thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Can you explain the purpose of the Casita battery key. Thanks
Not sure if you asking about the key lock on the battery door. The Casita came from the factory with a lock on the battery door for security.
Can you give me a link to the “Handerson ?”” rack and the ladder .. heck-- links to everything !

Do ever wish you had the wider twin beds
We have not needed them but our son would definitely need the bigger twin beds in the Independence.
Enjoyed the video. Would you be able to post links to items you purchased on Amazon?
Trying to set up all the links on our web site. It is not there yet but the web site is casitarvlife.com.

Great video! Does that 2200 generator require a soft start AC to start it or will it work on the stock Casita?
It runs my AC with no problem. Casita has changed AC on the newest trailers and I don’t know if it will run them.
@@CasitaRvLife Great to hear. I actually just put in an order for one. Hopefully the new ones work as well.
Let me know how it works and it will put the information out.

I bought it from Amazon. If you go to casitarvlife.com and select the tab “items we use” there will be a link for the box.
