Very good Video Greg ! I’ve just been using my Casita for two years! Did the normal maintenance is about all ! So far , haven’t had any issues. I am totally happy with mine and getting me out of my tent after many decades!!! Lol thanks
Always enjoy your videos. Must have watched the lithium upgrade video a hundred times while preparing to do my own. Replaced the older WFCO unit with a newer version WFCO auto detect converter which adjusts the voltage for the battery type in use. Will see how it goes this Spring!
I found your channel a few weeks ago and have watched a lot of the videos. They are SO helpful! Especially for a newbie like me. Keep up the good videos. You explain things very well and I feel like I can do these things myself. Thank you!
I enjoyed your video. Quite comprehensive. I purchased a 2018 independence from a nice fella in Texas and will pick up in March and bring back to Connecticut. Thanks
Thanks for a very informative and helpful tour of your trailer. I really like all the upgrades you’ve done. We’re anticipating taking delivery of our Casita in late July, 2023.
Thank you for the update! We've had our Casita for two months now and have enjoyed immensely so far. I'm really interested in your latest modification to the table. We have an ID and have given up using the table. I think that your modification could work for us. Would you be so kind as to do a short video on how you did it? I've learned so much from your videos and they gave me so much confidence when we finally picked up our own. Safe travels!
I owned an '88 King Sleeper. Their quality had gotten better, but the frame and suspension was built for a go-cart. 13" wheels and 2200lb axle. After about 6-7k miles and I'll admit it was about 21 years old, the right side axle broke on the 4 lane. Was very lucky no one was around because the tire flew. All the windows leaked and the trim molding on the floor would never stay in place. A/Cs use to be almost floor level where the closet was. Burned up the compressor 2x because the air blew straight out into the wall on the other side of the doorway. Cycled too often. But on the good side, we had allot of fun with the kids when they were little.
Best Casita channel on the tube. First thanks for the great content always useful. Hope you have your Casita more years to come. We took delivery if our 2022 Casita Indy in Dec. Started the Victron BVM 712 installation your video is great help, I'm actually copying what you have done to a certain extent. Hope y'all have your Casita many more years and hope to see you down the road.
Outstanding review thank you! We have a 2019 Casita Spirit Deluxe. We had the same factory power distribution system that failed and I changed it out with the same unit you have. As for the Dometic refrigerator we had to replace the coils $2000.00 A new refrigerator could not be found. 😫 Today we are on our 2nd day of using the Casita that we acquired in August for the first time. Yes life gets in way! In West Texas the weather was/is perfect for a first shake down of our new to us casita.😀🛫
Say what?? $2K for just the coils? I thought the entire fridge was less than a grand? And I’m very curious why you couldn’t find a new one? Supplies still that limited?
Excellent video! I will watch more and have subscribed. Thanks a bunch for ALL of the tips and truths! I am curious how much the extra shelf and box in front increased your tongue weight?
Great video, very helpful. Couple of things: Where did you get the box sitting on your Strombergy-Carlson rack? Also, where did you get the hinges you use for your extended cutting board? You may have listed in another video but haven't been able to find. Thanks.
Thanks. Our liberty mattresses are 82 X 24. Here is the link who we used. www.magicsleepermattress.com/ You will have to call them to order for the Liberty.
What a wonderful video! I want a Casita but have a Bushwacker teardrop...for now. But all of this information is good to have and is relevant. Is the awning something I can order for my RV that is customized in size for the side?
Great video, I have a 2012 Casita liberty Deluxe 17' that I bought in 2015 and love it. if I may ask what you are using for your mattresses. We have the double bed, which I'm not a fan of.
Great video, Thank you for sharing. I followed your winterization video. We have a 2021 SD. Where did you get the fridge door hinge support? Ours broke and thankfully was under warranty.
Thanks again for this great information! My 3rd window broke (next to the stove on my Spirit) and I have only found one incomplete video on UA-cam. Have you ever found a video or a post on replacing a window? thx
Sorry but no. I did the upgrade before I started the UA-cam channel. If you have any questions email me at greg@casitarvlife.com and I will work with you.
Thanks for the great info in your video. I'm curious about the carpet on the walls. Have you ever had any problems with it molding? I live in Florida and it's humid. Would love to hear your thoughts.
We live in Florida also so we understand the humidity. We have never had an issue with moisture or mold anywhere in the trailer. We always open the bathroom vent and the Maxair fan when using the trailer. We keep the Maxair fan bringing air in on the lowest speed and it exhausts out the bathroom vent. We do this regardless of the AC or Heat being on. When we store the trailer we close all vents and place a large Damprid bucket in the trailer.
You mentioned you could put us in touch with someone to install the Katy's Closet, as well as other items. We will pick up our Independence Deluxe in April and would like to try and set it up while we are there, before we return to FL. Do you have the independence or is it one of the other models? It looks wider between the beds than the independence but everything else looks the same. Enjoy your videos and em excited to learn maintenance and mechanical tips from you.
Congrats on the new Casita. Here is the website for the place in Texas that installs Katys Closets. www.casitaworks.com He does amazing work and is very knowledgeable on the Casitas. @@CasitaRvLife Thanks so much. Appreciate it. Had been trying to arrange at another place, but their schedule is blocked out for that week. I will definitely check this out. I see they do installs on the Stromberg platforms as well. Several RV parks right there in the neighborhood as well.
Great video, I'm curious what radio you added that plugs into your tv and also, did you just cut the connection from the outside antenna to the factory box they have in place and add your own connections and if so, do you have a link to that antenna and connections you use for your wifi, Thanks again.
I used a standard under counter mount radio. Here is the link. amzn.to/3x4brwD I then connected the headphone jack on the back of the TV to the Aux in jack on the stereo. Sure, for about $20,000 there are numerous places that can do that. But you’d need at least six lithium batteries, a few thousand watts of solar panels, room for all that and even then you’d be lucky to run it for even four hours and that would require tons of perfect sun conditions. Not really practical for a Casita. Trust me, I’ve researched it extensively because that’s by far the one capability I wish I had and the only thing that interferes with 100% boondocking 😔
The trailer comes from the factory with the items to make a larger bed including cushions. We initially had it setup fro the larger bed. We prefer two separate beds so we don't have to climb over each other at night to use the restroom.
