We are Greg and Angela from Florida. We share videos of our RV travel locations and the trip getting there. Some of these locations will be major attractions but some will be out of the way places. We also share videos of life traveling in a small fiberglass Casita travel trailer and modifications to the trailer that make traveling life easier for us. We will also provide videos which include maintenance and repairs to our Casita.

We just returned from a trip across the country where we were gone over a month. We stated at name brand campground, State Parks and National Parks. All of these parks have water that is listed as safe and potable. I think you will be surprised when you see what the filter has caught. Casita Travel Trailer Clear 20 Water System
Wanted to reach out to say thanks for this video. My daughter bought us a propane fire pit for Christmas and I remembered watching this video so immediately bought all the parts and installed it. Your instructions made it a super easy install. Went camping for a few days and ran the pit from the trailer. One of my favorite upgrades so far.
Glad it was helpful and I hope you enjoyed your camping trip!
What motor do you have in your jeep? What casita model?
2023 Wrangler Sahara with the 3.6L
I have the 3.6L and we have a 2019 Liberty.
Enjoy your videos, thanks for making them. How is your keder rail attached ? I don't have factory awning but would like a keder rail awning, will the 3M tape hold rail ? Did you make a video of yours ? (21 ID)
Mine is connected using 3m VHB tape. ua-cam.com/video/NsqMEesQnzg/v-deo.html
@CasitaRvLife Is it still fine ?
@@Gonebad yes. We have had no issues. Make sure you clean the surface good and use the 3m adhesion promoter.
You don’t seem to link to any of these items anymore, I’m particularly interested in the shelves you have in the cabinet. Do you remember what they were called? I know it’s been a while. Thanks for the tips!
Here is the link to the shelves. amzn.to/4gQrnr1 We have links on our website. Casitarvlife.com
Thanks for taking the time to show your accessories. Our Casita is 22 this year, and very similar to the new ones. We do carry wheel chocks in case we have to park on a slope. Also wood blocks to put under the levelling jacks and tongue jack when setting up on uneven ground. On the other hand, we never used a water filter or surge protection. I can't remember having any problems with water or power in campgrounds and trailer parks. Standard quality sewer lines work just fine, lasting for years. The sewer line support seems a waste of money, too. The Casita sewer line connection is so close to the ground that there is rarely enough room under the drain line to fit in any kind of support that creates a constant slope. We do have a solar panel. The panel acts as a battery maintainer and helps us keep the lights on when dry camping.
That sounds great that you have never had any issues. We have lost a power convertor due to campground power. Not only once but twice. I have camped at remote campground where my water filter was brown after staying there. We do camp year round and have over 90,000 miles on our trailer now. I have camped at campground that require sewer supports. I just setup the same way at all campgrounds now just to be safe. We use the solar for the same reason. Thanks for you information and happy camping.
What size box are you using
I was using this box. amzn.to/3VRZveg I have changed one to the box from Stromberg Carlson and like it a lot better. Here is its link. amzn.to/4iMJKPz
Beautiful area. Thanks for sharing Greg.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Did you hike the Jenny Lake Trail? It’s beautiful!
Part of it and is beautiful
Great job, Greg!
Thanks!
well done video, im doing some research on this hitch... am I correct in assuming the ball actually spins inside the mount to match the movement of the coupler?
yes, it has friction material to help slow sway.
New to the channel! Great vidoes and camera angles! Keep up the great work!
Glad you like the videos. We are enjoyed our trip and tried to capture the beauty of the West!
As I try to assemble a basis tool kit for my new Casita, I know I need my 1 1/16 socket for the water heater rod, but do you know the size of socket needed to drive the scissor stabilizers? Thanks!
My scissor jack on my Casita use a 3/4 socket.
Real dumb question- I thought the solar port option on the Casita was a direct connection for my portable solar panels to the Casita battery, regardless of whether it’s lead acid, AMG, or lithium? Is that incorrect? I'm an old 5th wheel guy, but am picking up my new Liberty in February.
There are no dumb questions when it comes to RV's. I installed my own solar connector on my Casita. I did not buy the one installed by Casita. I talked to Casita about the Solar connector they install and they stated it was connected to the battery. The portable solar panel needs to have a solar controller built in. The solar controller is where you select what kind charge you want and what kind of battery you have. Casita does sell the portable Renogy solar panels that you can buy when you pick up your trailer but the same panel is a lot cheaper on Amazon. Here is a link to the panel. amzn.to/3ZA4f99
I ordered a backup camera the voyager but my deal was I ordered the side camera and geez I think I have to run a connector to the monitor so I will be returning these I thought it would be wireless !
I have never worked with the Voyager camera system so I am unfamiliar with it. On the camera I use I have to run power to the monitor but the video signal is wireless. Here is a link for the camera I am currently using. amzn.to/3ZLNCsE
Well done. We are looking hard at a shift from our teardrop to a Casita. Helpful. Thanks….
Glad you found it helpful!
👍
Thanks
Looks like you had fantastic weather. Great trip!!
Yes, thanks
Just stunning without any doubt. Cannot wait to get back there again soon. Continued safe travels....
Thanks, you too!
Thanks so much for this video!!
You are so welcome!
get yourself a small trypot before filming
Great vid, is there a good way to tell how much water is in the black/grey tanks or do you just guess at it?
Thanks. I use this to give me an idea how much is in my grey tank. amzn.to/3OobGLJ Here is a link to the video concerning tank sensors. ua-cam.com/video/mTKZ94ihzhw/v-deo.html
Excellent video! We've been to Yellowstone several times over the years and much like watching the rockets at Cape Canaveral, it never gets old! On our last visit, the crowds were so large and the road traffic so heavy, it ruined our experience. Loved your video. I believe we will go there one more time!
We really enjoyed it but the crowds were very heavy. We did most of our exploring in the early morning and late evening.
We so many stunning federal and state parks in this country. Thanks for sharing your trip.
You are welcome.
Thanks!! Nice video. Curious what time of year was your visit? It looks relatively uncrowded…
It was late August. It was very crowded. We did a lot of exploring in the early morning and late evening. You will see the crowds in Part 7. I was the most crowded National Park I have been to.
I love your videos and so appreciate that you do this. My furnace is making a clinking sound so I wonder if it’s trying to ignite and can’t. It went from working fine to doing this in the night sometime. Brrrr! Any ideas?
If you can hear the furnace clicking it is trying to light. If it never lights it is not getting gas to the burner. If you have propane in your tanks and the valves are open then the internal gas valve is not opening. You need to have the system check by a certified technician.
Any idea is the new Casitas (24) have any better components or would it be wise to upgrade them as well?
The components in the Casita are good components but I upgraded because I wanted more options.
Dumb question - is that winterized after this process?
Yes, Draining the water heater and blowing the water out of the system is the same as winterizing. The only difference is that I put RV antifreeze down the drains to the black and grey tanks.
Some stunning scenery there. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I was surprised to see how different the interior of your Casita is to our 2024 model! Our "kitchen" is on the left as you go in, and we have a 2 burner stove, with a folding glass top.
Casita has two models with the kitchen on the left and three models with the kitchen on the right.
Another OUTSTANDING video, with LOTS of useful tips, thanks again!😊
My pleasure!
What causes this to go out? I hardly ever use my water pump, but still it’s not working.
I really have no idea why they go bad. I have talked to people who use their pumps a lot and people who do not use the pump much. Both have had the problem.
Thanks for taking us along.
You are very welcome
Great video. Can you please share how you have the screen mounted in your truck? Wondering how obtrusive it is to your field of view while driving. I have seen the ones that mount to your rear-view mirror, which I guess would be less intrusive. Looking forward to your thoughts!
I have used two different ways to mount the screen. Now I use the suction mount that came with the camera. I like it and it does not interfere with my field of view because I mount it at dash level. They also sell a mount to attach the camera to the rear view mirror. I used it initially but prefer the suction mount.
Great video, Greg! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Another great ideal which I plan on doing to my Casita. I have a sailboat and do DYI canvas work, and buy a lot from Sailrite,. Are those awning already made, or were homebuilt? Is the blue material Sunbrella? The snaps definitely looks a more professional and appealing installation. How do they stow against the Casita while in transit? Thank you.
We made them with material from Sailrite. The material is Sunbrella
Great idea for the Liberty model, I think the Independence model also has the single side bunks. Those tracks you used are tracks designed for rack mounted computers that side out for maintenance. Great use of space.
Thanks
Great video. I'm sure the pressure switch is a less expensive solution than the whole pump. Just bought a 2006 Spirit Deluxe, and took a spare pump of the two, and put it in the Casita so when it does go south, I'll be ready.
Always plan ahead
Excellent review
Thank you kindly
I loved this episode- I grew up in this area and you made me homesick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
excellent stuff. Just curious after many miles now, how you evaluate your Jeep as a tow vehicle. From my perspective I love your tow vehicle/trailer combo, but I am not the driver...continued safe travels...
Been towing with it for years and we love it
Thanks, enjoying traveling along. What was the time frame for this trip.
Started in August and ended in September
Most Casitas have an exterior shower. Don’t forget to blow the water out of theses lines also!!!
Good point
Great video Greg, what month did you go there?
August
Great video! I can hardly wait to visit that area! Thank you
Our pleasure!
Oops!, Disregard I should’ve read more first
no problem
Is it possible to put the inside piece upside down so you could peek out? With the shade with fully extended.
ok
I am trying to add a light above the stove. I removed the stove range hood. Does the rivet gun have to be flush the rivet? The light where you would normally use a screw has a lip, a little less than a quarter of an inch. I can’t get the rivet to expand on the back side due to that lip. Any suggestions?
Yes
Drilling the head off the rivets is very important for one reason. You don't want to drill through the hole again, and oversize the hole, which would require a larger diameter rivet to make a sound installation. Coming from the aircraft industry experience, I apply this rule for every rivet, regardless of the equipment. In the case of an oversize hole in the Casita, it would not only be weak rivet, though the silicone would seal the hole, the strength would not be there. Enjoying your videos.
Thanks
If I was doing this, I think I would check if that new converter is capable of charging any battery other than lead acid, just in case a battery upgrade is on the horizon. Good video
Thanks for the input
