@@JoeyBecker Base on all the culinary experience that you had in Peru I can imagine you taking more than an hour to explain what Peruvian food is all about………LOL. The amount of research that you did before coming to Peru had allowed you to taste much more than any other tourist. did you try the pachamanca?.... or parihuela?.... you must try the seco de chabelo or a delicious ensalada de pata ... those are a very traditional dishes
Oh sadly, we didn’t get a chance to try those but I just looked them up online and they look and sound absolutely delicious. My wife and I are going to have to find a good Peruvian restaurant close to us so we can try these out until we are able to go back to Perú and try the real thing! Thanks for the suggestions!!

Advice: The most delicious peruvian food is served in any regular restaurant or market (inexpensive). The food you tried in Astrid & Gaston is too sophisticated and does not represent the regular peruvian food. Good luck

No hay nada peor que ser vegena o vegetariana y viajar a Perú, no tienen ni idea de lo mucho que se van a perder.
Tienes toda la razón. Mi esposa y yo somos 90% veganos, pero cuando viajamos no nos preocupamos por ser veganos. Comemos todos los alimentos locales y siempre disfrutamos de casi todo. No me imagino no comer carne cuando viajo a Perú. Probablemente simplemente comerías un montón de paltas. Jaja
