My Hudl froze on thanks to you I was able to remove the back {no damage} disconnected the battery for a moment and hay presto Hudl now working. Many thanks.

Thank you great tutorial, just need to be careful around on/off volume switch as theirs a tiny ribbon cable just under the join, we broke ours & had to replace it. All working fine now. Mike.
Great demonstration! buf i have a quesrion and im not sure youll no the answer but here goes. i was replacing my screen because i had accidentaly cracked it. it going great until i took the ribbon cable out but as i was doing that the black and white clip came out with it. Now it won't charge and im assuming that's the reason. So please i ask is there any suggestions on how i can fix this as i have lots and lots of school work and pictures and more.
Beware, if you use this method to open a HUDL2 the on off switch and the volume bar are integrated into the cover. do not introduce anything under the edge here, it is very easy to damage the switches and you will find, as I did , you may not be able to use them after. I managed to repair the on off switch which was lucky for me because I cannot find a source for replacements.
The battery is going on mine , I'm still reluctant to change it . It's all very well demonstrating how to take the casing apart . But unless you have the correct tools and are careful damage to the casing or innards is going to occur . There is obviously a reason why it is difficult to change a service item like a battery without disassembly. The manufacturer wants you to through it away !!. Hudl isn't the only one of course. Their reasoning is the item will be obsolete within a short time frame anyway .
Is it a common fault with these Hudl's ( feeling V.V.WARM VERY QUICKLY) 😮😮😮 is it normal for these units to get like this. I DON'T THINK SO. I have had mine checked over ( YES IT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW) & nothing found wrong with it. 😕😕😕😕😕😕

Get a broken hudle on ebay. Batterys cost around £30. Broken hudl cost a tenner at most. Its what i did for the battery and charge port. I just wanted to have a go.

suction... like a sat nav window suction.. like a plunger kind of thing.. grip the back make sure its got hold of it and use a bit of force to pull it apart

Could of used the reset hole on the back. Didnt have to remove the back mate.
Just fixed my sons Hudl2 (new charger usb port). I used a couple of plastic car trim removal tools, worked a treat and no marks on the cover.

so do you have to actually break the rubber cover on the tablet or is there a fine gap?
Theres a fine gap. I forced my spudge in there. It came apart after a bit. Try to be patient but persistent. You be delighted once you manage it. :)

I know what to do, but you'll need to wipe all your data. Turn the device off.
Then, press on and volume up. Then you'll get your android recovery.
