Thanks for watching! If you're new here, I'm a Clinical Pet Nutritionist who also worked as a cat sitter with 100s of cats for 3 years before starting my online business.
I've learned the hard way over and over again with so many cats - diabetes, CKD, liver failure, obesity, cancer, stroke, and shortened lives.
And I finally realized that overly processed dry and canned cat foods are the opposite of what our carnivore cats should eat.
So now it's my mission and purpose from YAHUAH to help cat parents transition from commercial food to a homemade diet.
If you'd like to give your cat the best life possible so you can both THRIVE then you're in the right place ♥️

Great info Jess. Thanks
You're welcome!
Jess what do you think of MY PERFECT PET CAT FOOD?
You are absolutely correct!
😽♥️
Really great information!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great information on a Sardine Sunday by the Voice! I posted a couple of pictures on IG of Panda watching this video. What I have learned from you is a big reason she got well and is doing fine now. Shalom!
Love that pic!! I really enjoy the shots of weird faces I make while inbetween saying words lol Shalom brother!
My Clary Bell is going on 7 years old now after raising her on a kitty bottle. She loves the buffalo and chicken meat. I bake or broil everything. I get Indian commodity and we get a lot of meat and fish.
Plus i feed her iams and Sheba in those little plastic containers. She does get a lot of variety.
Filtered water to. I hope i am doing right with her, I'm senior and low income social security. My vet says she is doing great.
Just be mindful that muscle meat on its own is not complete. If it's just a fresh food topper here and there (~20% or less total daily intake) that's fine to add to already complete food. But cats do need more than just muscle meat! We do our best to recreate whole prey as mentioned in the video.
Great point.

Jess, how do I use the kelp?
It depends on the recipe and the brand. You would have to use formulation software to add the right amount. Or use one of my recipes (:
I want to try giving my cat a chicken wing, but I’ve heard different stories about what part of the wing he can have safely. What do you do? It looks like he’s getting the whole wing and not just the wing tip.
I give the whole wing but cut up into 3 parts and that's part of his complete diet. I don't give them randomly (:
How much of the kelp granules and how often? Thank you
It depends on the recipe you're using. Most premixes already have iodine so you would not add more to it.
Hey Jess, great video as usual. I was wondering could you elaborate on the comment you made about fish making cats, picky, eaters? Thanks.
Sure! Cats often get picky because fish has a powerful smell. So they may turn off food that doesn't have the fishy smell when given too much of it. There are other reasons to avoid too much fish but that's one of them!
@@jesscaticles when would you say is an appropriate to use fish? As a treat or topper? How often would you use it? Thanks for the great content.
hey, by any chance do you require a video editor ?
My cat gets quite constipated on her raw diet. Is there any harm in adding zucchini to help move things along or something use you can suggest to add in to make things move more easily 💩
Hmmm I'd check the bone content and adjust that.
My mother yelled at me for feeding my cats raw egg yolks because my cat could get sick from salmonella. She refused to listen to my explanation of cats being Obligate Carnivores and are supposed to eat raw meat.
I am just wondering what is your experience when you dealing with vet that do not support raw feeding?
My 3-year-old cat had soft stool for 3 days, and it turned into diarrhea, went to see a vet and told him I am feeding freeze-dried raw and wet food (I did not even mention I feed her homemade raw). The vet was not happy about it, pulled out an article from AAHA, and kept saying raw is dangerous to pet and human as well. The vet also had an opinion that my cat likes to eat grass, he thought this is not normal.
We ran some tests, blood work is normal, fecal test came back NEGATIVE no parasites, still waiting on the third test. Gave me Hill's prescription diet ("with chicken" but the first ingredient is "pork liver"🤨), he also suggested feeding cooked chicken and rice, rice?!. My cat would not touch that at all, went back to her normal wet food with sprinkle freeze-dried duck liver, and my homemade raw (her favorite), finished right away. 2 day later, stool became normal.
My daughter has a rescue dog that has several health issues. The dog is on a vet recommended diet of dry food mixed with frozen raw food. Go figure. I'm glad your cat got better.
Hmm well at the end of the day you are your cat's best advocate and you make the decisions. More and more vets are waking up but there will still be some who do not like raw feeding simply because the institutions tell them not to.
My cat is allergic to beef. What then?
Find something else that works (:
Chicken Gizzard is good and cheap
In the US, chicken or turkey are inexpensive alternates. Also lamb. There is a butcher shop near me that has other meat, such as bison, venison, etc. It varies. Raw food and whole prey suppliers have different birds and rabbit. Jess has videos on most of them. Happy Sardine Sunday!
I would not give any raw pork or raw chicken to my cats unless you want to invite parasites or bacterial infections. My small cats like all type of chicken innards, but I cook them first, just enough to kill parasites and bacteria.
My big cat only eats gizzard cut into small pieces when it comes to unprocessed food.
None of my cats eats fruits or egg.
I test Jericho's feces yearly and they always come back negative for parasites. It all comes down to sourcing and handling.
@@jesscaticles that might be true when you live in a country where you can trust the meat.
At our pet shop they recommend deparasiting the cats every 4-6 months.
This is a research. A pickle of common sense on top of your cat's nutrition.
