Having observed my rescued dumpster cats, I think cats do not have problems adapting to new food.
Only some cats have that problem.
I initially gave my dumpster cats only concentrate. Then I found out that these two eat anything that's edible.
They eat my porridge, they eat gizzard, they eat even onion soup and no negative consequences.
They eat everything that looks like food. I cannot let anything lie around because the small ones would gobble it up. No diarrea.

It took me two months to transition my cats from free fed kibble to twice a day raw. They already liked canned food so that helped. But it just takes some time to transition cats to Raw. But once they get there they’re fine.
Happy Sardine Sunday. I was feeding wet and dry food when Panda got sick. The only thing she could keep down was raw ground beef. Colbie never got sick. When Panda got better, I found your channel and started switching to homemade. They still won’t eat a lot of raw food, so the chicken gets boiled a few minutes. The salmon gets poached. It’s an ongoing process. Most of what my cats eat, I eat, too.Finding you was serendipitous, in that I am now eating healthier as well. Shalom!

Hey Jess. I have a question about making foods. How do you know the nutrient levels?
Cashmere - became seriously overweight after neutering. Everest did not...he remained slim. After reading one of the comments, I am concerned about his weight. We feed our dogs raw, but just blindly bought kibble and canned food for our cats? I'm not that stupid, but life was busy and there you have it. I want to do better. Where do I start and how do I address the normal weight and over weight cats?
Im here cause my picky eater cat wont eat cat food anymore. We have been feeding her raw meat but I want to do it better cause its just been chicken breasts and ground meat so far and I know it needs to be better. When I saw in the description that this was for picky cats I thought it ment cats that wont eat cat food not the other way around! lol 🤷♀🤷♀

Nothing makes my life easier.
My small rescued cats eat it all, even French onion soup. If it looks and smells like food then they eat it.
My 9 months old cat eats almost nothing. She doesn't eat fresh food or cooked food. She used to like whiskas but nowadays she even rejects that. Sometimes she eats only a little bit of it and at night she eats dry food, but not much. My nine-month-old cat also doesn't eat or drink in the presence of the two little cats. Dont know what to do...
Onions are toxic to cats so I would not let my cat eat onion soup. And cats are often cautious (aka picky) about fresh food whenever they have dry food in the diet. Make small, gradual upgrades to better and better food to help them get used to eating it. @@jesscaticles I am a first-time cat owner and got my first cat 7 months ago. Lately, I have adopted two more cats from the dumpster.
My first cat always ate Whiskas, Felix or Chunky kibbles for kittens and now she's scared, thinks twice and eats a third of what she ate before. Even if I feed her in my bedroom. I cannot even leave the food on the floor for my cat to eat it later because the young ones come and eat it all.
@@jesscaticles I was eating onion soup, had to get up to go to toilet and in the meantime my small cats found the onion soup and started eating it.
@@live_long_and_prosper sounds like the issues all started when he brought in the new cats. Cats don’t necessarily want friends.
@@nogames8982 now they sleep together under the sofa but my 9 month old female is not comfortable eating in their presence. However, two weeks ago my older cat was still eating normally, the entire portion. Now she rejects most of the food I offer her and if she eats something then she only eats a third of it. However, as soon as she hears a noise, she immediately stops eating.
