confession time: I binged all your video in a day and decided i will feed my kitten raw
Well my job here is done
@@PawsofPrey And yet, like freezer space, we always need more. xD
I did this too, i find her videos pleasing to watch. The video is well made and her speaking voice + relaxing music is quite lovely and easy to watch.
@Hevia Sierra I do not, they are already balanced
@@Okamisou i agree
I don’t trust myself to calculate out my dogs diet and balance it. I also can’t find any veterinary dieticians near me so i’m lost.
u can give them snacks sometimes, they can be on a kibble diet with snacks here and there, some raw food is better than no raw food
like maybe give them a chicken heart every once and a while :3
There are companies that can customize it to your pets and do it for you. I personally trust perfectly Rawesome when it comes to researching so you can do it yourself, or even purchasing a customized meal plan.
I love Viva Raw! I buy it in bulk and use it as a base for my car’s meals and add kelp, mackerel, blue lipped mussels, clams, oysters, egg, and vitamin E oil. His fur has never been softer
How does your car like it?
How much are you spending monthly when buying in bulk?
@@karaleigh_eva The website has a 15 lbs minimum to fulfill the order, so you can just do the math on your own which resulting in roughly $5-$9 per lbs of meat depends on your preference. Then you calculate how many oz of food your pet needs per day which can give you cost per oz/day. But Viva Raw seems to be the most cost effective option from the list, minus the toppings that you have to purchase separately like OP has mentioned
I just looked into Viva Raw because they seemed like the most cost effective and best option, but they wanted almost $200 just for shipping!!
@@BlueHorse17what do you mean by CAR?
I'm here to spread the word. My dog was vomiting, diarrhea, rough hair and shedding bad. Brought my dog to 3 vets spent $3000 to have him prescribed special "pre-digest food". When that didn't work I spend $2000 more bringing him to the university of Minnesota where they prescribed him another food saying he had a "soft stomach". When that failed I went to youtube and researched raw diet and was lucky to have a neighbor that sells it! It changed his life within days his hair got soft stopped shedding as much was energetic and had great stools! Now he only pukes if he eats too much uncooked bone that I give him to clean his teeth. He has been on raw now for 4 years without any problems. My neighbor is putting his dog down tomorrow and won't even give him a chance on raw which is why I'm writing this. I REALLY want people to be aware about how dried dog food absorbs all the water from animal's organs and ruins them. You will notice they stop drinking about 80% of their daily water because they don't get dehydrated on raw. Walmart sells food in tubes and so does Coborns if you have them. I use this in combination of Titan red or blue. Please do your dog a favor and make the switch. Don't let money thieving vets rob you blind and prescribe your dog garbage so they can earn monthly fees for the prescription. The bacteria BS is complete rubbish. Dogs are natural raw meat hunters scavenging anything they can find in the wild and I put raw steaks for myself on my counter and break eggs daily and have never been sick. I personally enjoy sushi and even was on a sashimi diet for a while. It's just a scare tactic. Just switch slowly so your dog can adjust from bad to good food. Thank you if you make the switch I appreciate you caring for your animal, unlike my neighbor :(

Thank you for taking the time to share all this info with us. 🙂❤
Thank you for the comparisons! Good general information to know.
Another great video! Thanks guys - y’all are awesome 🙏🏽
Live ur videossss! The editing is sick.Keep goin'
Thank you this is so helpful
Been waiting for this video , thanks , I use answers and Raw bistro
Yet again another fabulous video! 🥰
Thanks girl :')
Thank you so much for making this informative video! We are new to raw feeding and this review video really helped us !! I have saved many of your videos for future reference when we are ready to switch to DIY. Keep up the good work! : D
Thank you for this!!!!
This is an excellent video, and you consistently give absolutely excellent content, happy to subscribe and support your channel !
Have you considered doing a video on meat completers? They are powedered supplements to add to raw meat for a balanced and complete meal. If not thats fine just an idea! Love the video, it was very informative
I would love to learn more about these too! I haven't tried them but am curious
I've looked into them! There are certainly a few good ones
@@PawsofPrey I'd love a video on this. I'm just starting out in feeding raw and I feel safer using a good meat completers until I become more confident in balancing things out on my own.
Congrats on 14K!
Thank you :')
Love the video so much l!! Viva Raw looks so awesome too This makes me want to get some now haha
The Ziwi was great when we were traveling for our skinny girls... they loved it and it worked great in our camper when our messy wet raw food would not work great... 100% agree with your break down on it.
Thank you so much for your video. I feed my dogs PureVita kibble mixed with Primal raw food and Primal goat milk. They love it!!
omg thank you so much for this video. by far my favorite one so far. we use a+ answers pet food because of you, and our dog loves it!
Oh I'm so glad
I recently ordered the complete meals from Viva Raw. Very impressed decided to go with the chunk version. Max is happy and so am I meals a very complete and he loves them.
Love this video! If you find a good amount of other distributors I'd love to see a part 2!
Oh there are some I didn't mention in hear! My pet carnivore is also a great distributer. Hare-today and Rodentpro are great for whole prey as well.
Totally binge watching your videos! Interested in feeding Raw for our Maltese fur babies, as one of them just got cancer. :( We travel a lot, so these reviews on commercial raw definitely help in times of convenience. SO many new brands coming out, and really hoping you will do more reviews in the future! Thank you for all you do!!!
I’m so happy that you also like Answers!! My puppy has been eating this brand ever since I started him on raw diet.
Awesome! Such a great brand
Your chanal became my favourite channel.
Thanks
Thanks ! I am going on a road trip and wanted an alternative to raw frozen. It's been a challenge trying to find a good alternative.
This video was definitely worth the extra days wait the best video so far it's really what I have needed. I have us brought a small bag of the ziwi peaks cat food to go with my cats wet food he seems to love it. Thanks for teaching the world about pet nutrition
Thank you so much! Means a lot to hear
Can we do a part 2 of this. So many brands I would love to hear your opinion on
I really needed this video ! I want to feed raw but don’t have enough time currently for diy . Thanks :)
If you learn to buy the meat, organs and bone and prep it yourself, all you have to do is set aside 30 minutes once or twice a month and just prep a batch then freeze it in ziplocs; you just wash the meat in vinegar water to kill any extra bacteria and cut it in portions. It's really just a matter of making an effort and it ends up being cheaper than buying all of this. You can buy supplements like cranberry powder, dried kelp, fish oil to squeeze in there. Always good to have apple cider vinegar too. You can start with a simple basic recipe of chicken meat, a third teaspoon of liver, and a heart. You can build off and try other recipes from there.
Great video, like always 💕💕 have a great day!! 💕💕
You as well!
Such a great video. Would you be able to do a video on what one would need to add to make a viva raw meal balanced? What should be add and the various options?
Basically what I go over in my balancing video! It's PMR, just like if we made a homemade bowl with raw meaty bone, muscle meat, and liver. You do need to add a second secreting organ in everything other than the rabbit blend as well.
Was pleasantly surprised to see Ziwi come up. Also shocked that it's cheaper for you all the way over in America!
is it just me or do i save all her vids on a playlist called ''dog/cat raw feeding'' soo
:3
BEST VIDEO EVER!
I am currently trying a freeze dried food (not mentioned) for my cats because I didn't know what else was out there except diy. I am not comfortable doing that and confident that it is completely balanced for them and on a budget as well.
Thank you thank you thank you!
Now I can check out several other options! I appreciate you! 😺
I'm so happy to help!
If you're in the U.K. Bella and Duke is awesome, I've put my 3 Tortie cats on it and the results are outstanding and they have such soft fur and loads of energy
Can you please do more of these raw reviews please?
Your voice is very soothing
Thanks for the review! I'll give Viva Raw a try once I can get my kitten to get raw food :D
The reason Ziwi peak has such a high fat and calorie content is because here in NZ we have ALOT of working dogs that are expected to run, bark, herd and chase all day. We had our dogs working from 5am until 10pm some days on the farm so they need the extra intake to keep up with their super busy life style. Definitely would not suggest it to a dog or household who does not participate in a lot of activity.
How long do your dogs live if they are working so much?
Great info! Would love to hear your thoughts on Steve’s Real Food raw food for dogs.
They're ok from what I've heard, but do HPP on their food.
It's too bad most of these arent available in canada, either way, good info. Thanks.
It is too bad!
Hey suggest a diet for persian cat
@@anurajdatta443 they can eat the same diet as any cat can, you may just need to feed them a bit more food a bit longer than you would a normal cat since they're not fully grown until about 2 years old.
Where are you in Canada? I live in Ontario and almost all of these are available
@@flatboislim BC. I'm betting there would be plenty of alternatives back east.
Also heard Of Vital Essentials for freeze dried and Darwin’s for frozen raw!
Yep there's a ton of raw brands out there, just couldn't review all of them at once haha
I've been using big country raw its Canadian ( im in Toronto) price point is good selection is large and they also have a supplement brand called thrive that balances their blends, for joint health, immune support ect.
Hello!
I have been learning so much about Raw Food Diets for my rat terrier. I would love it if you could one day take a look at Bones & Co raw keto food and tell us what you're POV is...
This is a great video! Sucks that it's all USA raw food brands but I'm assuming it would be kind of hard to get premade raw foods from other countries! If you get the chance, it would be SO great if you could review premade raw from other countries!
Vital Essentials has a prey model frozen raw that is awesome!
Hello, thanks for this good video. What do you think of feeding frozen Instinct raw food ? That is I can find in Canada
My Pet Carnivore is a good company who sells whole prey grinds as well as ingredients for making your own. My cat loves their beef grind and prefers it over the beef grind from RFM.
Yep I love MPC as well!
Great video! Can you make a video of great freeze dried raw food as I am not confident in doing diy raw for my dog. What are your thoughts on we feed raw?
Raw Feeding Miami I love them was looking around their site.
Do you have a video of a list of meats fed for cats and dogs? Like list of protein meat, bone meats? Gizzard? Etc? Much appreciated! Love love your videos!
Just wanted to say, I'm a big fan of your channel and have been watching for months. My dogs are 6-8 mos. Thank you! I was wondering if you can do a second video with other companies featured? There's so many choices out there and it gets overwhelming. I struggle with finding an affordable premade option for feeding three large breed puppies. Currently feeding OC Raw and finding the 18lb case for $70 at one store, but trying to find additional options. I'm in a couple raw feeding groups on fb and I know others with multiple animals, including cats AND dogs, struggle with cost too. DIY isn't an option at this time. I'm in AZ if anyone has suggestions. TY!
Thank you!! Yes at some point I will! I just need to find the time to haha :p
Thanks so much for the video! I've been feeding my cat rawpaws which seems similar to viva and rawfeeding miami. I might give one of those a try next time I run out. I was wondering what is needed to supplement these types of food? I bought something called Alnutrin (for diets with bones) and have been adding that to the rawpaws, but I'd much rather be using whole foods to get those nutrients in. Thanks so much :)
Btw, fellow Virginian here! 😎🙌
This is a powder that should balance the meal so you don't need to add anything else. If you want to use whole foods I go over what you can add in this video: ua-cam.com/video/6yDyA0jh-sk/v-deo.html
Can you do a review on the premade raw brand: The Bones and Co? Thanks!
I’ve heard many great things about bones and co. They are a very transparent brand, and they are balanced. They do tend to be kinda pricey though.
Thank you for the review!! I just have a quick question: I recently purchased Darwin's Natural Pet Food since they have a pretty crazy first-time purchase promotion ( $15 dollars for 10lbs of chicken and turkey). I was wondering what you think of Darwin's? Thanks!
Instinct raw has great reviews, I started my puppy on it recently
out of all the brands what can you add in with kibble that I already added some other items to make it balanced I just need some form of chicken and beef to add to my pups kibble.
I’ve been feeding my dog freeze dried for a little over a month now and we both love it. Of all the brands she tried so far her favorites are Primal (Duck/Turkey and Sardine/Rabbit), Open Farm (Pork), and Woof New Zealand (Brushtail)! I want to try some commercial raw as well in the future, never heard of viva raw before but it sounds interesting!
Vom og Hundemat, Mush and Provit👌
@@vikingdogmanship umm... They only have those in the nordic countries. Have personally tried Vom og Hundemat cat food and Mush and my cat did great on them.
My dogs like the woof brushtail also.
Have you ever tried Albright's raw food and Texas tribe beginner's choice ?
I feed ziwi to my little corg and i feel like she's living the best life than when she was on royal canin. with that food she was at the vet once a month for various reasons
Is Natures Logic vegetables dried organic? Also do you know what N.D. stands for in their Fiber content for raw frozen pork?
Im surprised you didn’t cover Instinct. I feed their frozen raw to my shih tzu. No problems at all!
There are many brands I didn't review that are still good. I wanted to review a few lower tier and a few higher tier
@@PawsofPrey Thanks for replying! Also, i get reviewing some other brands that are common is fine.
Sad you didn't talk about feline natural/k9 natural :( I wanted to know your thoughts on it
can you do this video again with some new brands? specifically naturawls, big country raw, etc. those are some of the main brands available up here in canada
Any reviews for Small batch, OC raw, K9 natural and Nandi pets? :)
It should be important to note that just because a nutrient is added and listed separately does not automatically make it "synthetic". Many of these can be naturally sourced as well. For example, Vitamin E can comes in 2 varieties, naturally derived or synthetic. When listed as an ingredient "Vitamin E", it doesn't specify enough to know which they used.
Naturally derived begins with D- while synthetic begins with DL- when it's written out specifically.
Totally agree their is way to much bone is most of the raw dog foods ! It actually stops the dog from eating eventually. Causes compaction too.
What should I give to my cat to make the meal balanced while feeding them viva raw?
came ot watch diss videooo after a comment teeheee. luved it ofc!! but sad its hard to find them at an offordable price where i live ahah
I switched my yorkie to Nature’s logic a few days ago, he refuses his kibble now, even when it’s mixed in he picks the raw food out. I couldn’t even make the transition slow 😅 but he loves his new food
Don’t feed your pets kibble if you want them to live long.
@@vutomi9874 I understand where you’re coming from, but that’s not entriely true. I fully support raw feeding when it’s accessible, but my grandmother’s dachshund lived to 17 years old on pedigree kibble.
Have you reviewed Smallbatch? I haven’t found a video about them yet on your channel
UGH I MISSED THIS VID HOWWW I WAS W8ATING JSJSJSJSJJE
Any thoughts on We Feed Raw?
my favorite out of them all is VIVA RAW and it is tied with BONES AND CO for first place favorite
Can you make a more video like this
Could you please do a review on BJ’s Raw?
Answer’s pet now has different people running the business. Do you have any updated thought on them? Billy left Answers because he can no longer agree to the new leadership’s direction according to his Instagram post. Love and appreciate all the research you do👏🏻✨💕
How do you make the foods that are not completely balance , balanced for your dog? I feel some times they add so much synectics stuff it upsets my dog tummy
Got me hooked on the Viva Raw--but then dropped that they don't ship to the west coast! Hopefully they will soon :(
I'm so sorry! It should be soon!
What are your thoughts about Maev?
My dogs get ziwi provenance recipes along with home cooked and raw.
Have you heard of Rahraw? I'm thinking of feeding their Titan Blue mix, which sells for 88 cents-$1.99 depending on locally or online
I use them and like them. I usually get the Titan blends from them.
I have been looking at them too since they are local to me
I'm' curious to know her thoughts on Rah Raw too. The titan blends specifically, as they mention by-products. But the price is really good.
For viva raw, it looks like the beef protein is the only one that has liver and other secreting organ. I would only purchase that protein if looking for a complete meal.
Answers raw is interesting although it appears to contain dairy which may not be appropriate for all dogs. I used to make homemade kefir from raw A2 milk. I would drink it and I gave some to the dogs. Then I was having some gut issues and eliminated all dairy. All my problems disappeared. I no longer feed kefir to the dogs either and they seem fine without it.
I was recently talking to answers foods about their dry matter vases on their broths and sadly they didn't give it to me.
Also Darwin's isn't very transparent when it comes to providing nutrient analysis as well particularly their dry matter vases. This was according to the Feline kidney disease race oil page.
I will be be trying all (:
I checked their website they don’t ship to the uk 😞
Could you please do a review. K9 Choice beef fruit and veggie or you can call it K9 choice plus my dogs very much enjoy it but I like to get your view on it too
The Whole Prey Quail Grind from Raw Feeding Miami says cat owners must add a taurine supplement such as Alnutrin. Where is a good place to order this taurine from? Do you add anything else? I feed mainly Answer's for my two one year old domestic short hairs.
In past videos she's said chicken hearts are a good source of taurine. Or just hearts in general.
You can get a taurine supplement from any healthfood store or online! NOW is a brand I always recommend
How many servings are there per container? Or how would you calculate a serving size given your dogs weight?
Im not sure if it would be the same as the PMR calculation, but to feed a 60 pound dog about 1.8 pounds of any one of these brands daily would be ridiculously expensive.
I was hoping to see Steve's Real Food on the list. My dogs LOVE it!!!
Is the Calcium in Nature's Logic coming from the montmorillonite clay? Label does not mention bone. Just saying.
How would you balance the viva raw?
Can you review Maev??
What do you think of Northwest Naturals?
Do you know the ratio of additives to combine into the Viva Raw food to ensure its well balanced?
Alnutrin has some premade mix for easy adding
Is trichinosis a concern when feeding raw pork?
Hi, can you make a video on raw food brands like big country raw. I use BCR but recently quality the company seems to have started adding ingredients that I would consider unnecessary. Not required and unhelpful in the different foods
Is it ok to feed my cats both raw food and Ziwi Peak?
What do you think about Darwin’s Natural Pet? Is this one a good brand?
Thank you! My dog is very picky and I haven’t been able to get her on the raw diet. She ate it for about 3 weeks but refuses to eat it even if I cook the meat for her. I had to step in bc she wasn’t eating her meaty bones at all and she started refusing her muscle meats. She started out strong and just got tired of eat cut, even though I provide variety. She doesn’t like Stella and chewy either but I’m going to try primal
Maybe she will like Mush or vom og hundemat?
@@vikingdogmanship thank you I will look into those!
Try ziwi
@@nibunion she hates ziwi she’s so picky I keep her on a varied diet of dry and wet natural foods. She’s super small like less than 10 lbs most of my friends with small dogs refused raw and premade raw. she seems happy now but thanks
