Thanks for watching! If you're new here, I'm a Clinical Pet Nutritionist who also worked as a cat sitter with 100s of cats for 3 years before starting my online business.
I've learned the hard way over and over again with so many cats - diabetes, CKD, liver failure, obesity, cancer, stroke, and shortened lives.
And I finally realized that overly processed dry and canned cat foods are the opposite of what our carnivore cats should eat.
So now it's my mission to help cat parents transition from commercial food to a homemade raw meaty bones diet.
If you'd like to give your cat the best life possible so you can both THRIVE then you're in the right place ♥️

I'm starting to transition both my cats to scheduled feeding and transitioning 1 meal from their regular meaty food to Smalls meaty food. Jess, thank you for the course you offer. It has helped me organize this transition without stress! I want my babies to live good healthy long lives!!!

Jess, I have been following your channel for a couple of years and I’m grateful for your knowledge and encouragement. My cat looks a lot like Jericho and I love how you teach a healthy, holistic approach to caring for your cats. Jess, if I’m correct, you are in the NYC area and you have been on my mind for the last couple of months, more and more because of an uptick in activities there that are frankly quite worrisome.
A couple of months ago I wanted to drop you a comment to consider moving out of New York. The more time that passes, the more urgent I feel compelled to reach out to you. If your business can operate through the Internet, and you can cut other ties there, then you have infinite choices for relocation. I recommend Colorado, especially from the El Paso county line south to the border of New Mexico. The Rocky Mountains are safe haven for many. I probably would never know if you chose to do that but aside from the cold, it is a wonderful place to live. In any case, I do hope you consider a hasty evacuation and you are in my prayers for protection, provision, and wisdom from our Heavenly Father.
    Be blessed, sister! 🙏🕊

Jess! I started Viva and I love it but one of my cats get cobstipated on it due to high bone content 10%. Do you know of other preground companies online in the US that either have 6-8% bone or boneless so I can add my own?

Hi Jess, I was wondering to start off my senior cat with raw food would be a big jump since she’s always has eaten kibble, is it okay if I slightly cooked up the meats and organs and mixed it up into a pate like consistency? Including the supplements ? Would much appreciate your advice, thank you!

This might be off topic but what would be the most calorie-dense cat food? My cat is a major scarf and barf and has had dental problems in the past. I want him to be able to get the nutrition he needs but he struggles to eat more than like half of a small can of wet at once. And having 5 meals a day get to be unreasonable.

I was wondering what your thoughts are on JustFoodForDogs cat food? There's a chicken and fish frozen version and I've just started my cats on it. I like to feed raw but my boys are messy and the bacteria occasionally makes me nervous. Is this a food I could continue to fees that will have similar benefits? And what differences do you think there are between gently cooked food vs raw?

Just food for cats is def better than canned foods because it's lightly cooked. However, we have to be mindful about bacteria with all foods. Still have to do the same cleanup regardless of the food we feed.
Raw will always be the best because it's what cats are designed to eat. Especially when feeding raw meaty bones. It's easier to digest, it's fresher, and contains more nutrient-rich food.
Just food for cats has a long list of synthetic supplements and lacks multiple secreting organs, muscular organs, etc. Again, better than canned food but it sounds like you want the absolute best. And for the absolute best I would always say homemade raw meaty bones is it.

@jesscaticles do you think adding some raw meaty bones into their diet a couple times a week would help balance out that particular diet or should I just commit and feed raw as much as I can? Thanks so much for your videos they're incredibly informative!

Hello there. I am desperately seeking help. I’m newer to your channel and I love your ethics and research and value your opinions when it comes to cat nutrition. I have been struggling with my cats nutrition for years. I have 3 spayed females. They are 13, 4 and 3 years old. My youngest is addicted to kibble. She will eat very little wet food. I always offer it to her. My oldest just recently had a dental and two extractions. She had problems with her kidneys at 3 years old but by some miracle we were able to reverse it. I want to give them all an appropriate diet but the expense and the pickiness of my youngest is really holding me back. Is there a canned food that won’t cost as much as raw that would be suitable for them? My youngest will eat wet duck and whitefish from wellness. I did look into viva raw and if the formulas are correct it would cost us about $180 a month to feed them just Viva Raw. That is very expensive but I was thinking it would be closer to $200 a month. I really would like to be $150 per month or less. I am afraid of the phosphorus and calcium levels in dry matter for Raw. I feel like it would be too high for my senior. Any help or guidance you can give us is much appreciated. Thank you so much for what you do for this community ❤.

I know it's frustrating and costly dealing with picky cats. But I've found that spending the money up front for healthy food is much more worth it in the long run. Better quality of life means less vet bills. I have a course to switch to raw specifically for picky eaters - it's in the description. Or you can search through my playlists and find what you need (:

Whiskas is high in phosphorus, 1.5% dry matter basis. Should be between 0.5 - 0.8 Good luck

      It's just matching numbers.
You look at the recommended daily values for cats.
Then you buy meat cuts that add up to those values.
Yeah, it takes a little more effort than opening a bag or can, but it is your pet's health we're talking about...
