I think we need an updated video of how to unlock, "repair IMEI" band locks to get the fastest bands etc on the M1
Finally someone that explained this sep by step, bro. You are The man!
Another UA-camr helps me to solve a critical issue for mobile broadband. Thank You.
Michael Moeller thank you for watching!
easy step by step video. Awesome video. You the man
Thank you for this video.
S P you’re very welcome!
WOW what a great explication I have just one question when you show locking into the bands I see you group all Verizon bands into just one line by doing that dosnt it lock onto the strongest signal?
Super Awesome Content Presentation!!
Thank you!
Excellent video and I liked and subbed
Thank you!
Great Video Thanks.
Wiw fantastic video
This did help, a lot thanks mate
Anytime ! Glad it helped !
So do I have to unlock my device if I want to use existing AT&T only bands? I'm using a Netgear Unite 815S.
will only use the mobile hotspot data only?
Thanks for the video man, very helpful. Any other recommendations for people wanting to use a tablet data plan sim in a nighthawk? Is making the router IMEI match the tablets IMEI all you recommend? Are there any other steps to protect yourself from getting found out? Thanks in advance.
On the nighthawk there isn’t much you can do besides connecting it to a router that allows you to change TTL settings and manage your data try to stay below 400 GBs/month
Would this work on phones too? I have a xiaomi i want to change the imei due to my cell sp blocking it.
Finally! someone posted how to do this.... thanks
Dannyboy Thank you for watching !
bERRy gOOd jUICe no problem! When my m1 locks itself to band 66 i get killer speeds but it doesn't last long and switches to 12 or 2 and slows down🙄 Thanks again
Thank you so much. I used these instructions to repair imei on mr1100 to be able to use the at&t unlimited prepaid *phone* plan on my hotspot. Had to change the apn to "nxtgenphone" but it works perfectly after I repaired the imei w a old phone I had 🥰
With this being said, do you know if I would get better speeds if I did switch bands? If so, how would I find out what to switch to?
@@AnonMom use cell mapper or another resource to find out which towers are around you and which bands they broadcast try to use bands that are 20mhz or wider for better bandwidth
@@profitgee1 thank you so much! Very helpful
Pimp I got a question . I got an iPad Pro but is not the LTE version . Can I use its IMEI ? Or does it have to be the lte version for it to work ?
Yeah you'll need an IMEI of an ipad that has cellular not just wifi
I need help brother it's telling me two network adapter has same ip subnet! Please change network card or router ip address to different subnet. What am I doing wrong I turn on ip pass-through. Any Advice will be very much appreciated
Can you connect it through pc with Ethernet instead of usb cable?
Thanks for the video,You would think dc unlockers would explain with tutorial videos how to use their site and add bands like you did,But they do not.I did a 815s repair on their site and it did not work and lost 29 credits,When asked on the live help about the issue,He never did say I would receive a refund for the 29 credits and never got back to me with a solution to their software problem. It made the start up interface dashboard page different than the netgear default page with overlapping numbers and letters and totally different format that the user could not change any settings,I had to do a factory reset which undone the repair.
This worked for me. I've been running into an issue when I'm connected to a VPN on my computer where my phone provider marks that data usage as hotspot data instead of regular cell data. I have a data cap on my hotspot data, so I want all traffic to appear as regular cell phone traffic. Do you know of any way to fix that?
I followed your video instruction expect for the IMEI part as I didn't have a new IMEI and just renewed the old one which it was but after adding my bands sadly it isn't connecting to any of them did I miss something or I have to change the IMEI any help, by the way, doing this from Saudia Arabia , any suggestions
@Mansor Khan no you don't have to change the imei # to edit bands assuming you edited them correctly select all LTE bands from the cellular menu and see which band you were connecting to before and make sure if you are trying to connect to new bands that they are available in your area. Also If you lock to verizon bands but have a Tmobile or At&t sim card you won't have any connection. Side note you're not adding bands these are the bands the M1 already has you're just creating lists to tell the nighthawk which bands to use ...Let me know if this helps
I wanna make a switch to router/ modem what’s the best to use w/spectrum ..thnxBjuice
I’m not too versed in cable modems , if it’s coax then companies like Netgear and TPlink sell modem/ router combinations but if it’s fiber you may have to use Spectrums modem but you still may be able to attach your own router
Hello get video. I was wondering if you can make a video about the bands that you created. I have the att 6500 netgear and I unlocked it.
To use activate the band lists created I believe you have to use the mobile app to select the band list. You can't just choose the band list through the gui of the 6500. Then you have to reboot the 6500 to get it to actually activate that band list.
@bERRy gOOd jUICe I'm having the same issue as others. I plug in the Usb C on the M1 to my Usb on my laptop and I can't access the management page to alter the settings. If I change the settings while my M1 is connected and then try the DC Unlocker detection, I receive the modem not found error. Any suggestions?
Da Crusher make sure the power & tethering option is selected for your USB port on your M1, IP pass through is ON (these require a reboot) then try taking out your SIM card before detecting your router with DC unlocker. (Remember you have to connect to the internet with another network on your laptop) this should work ...if not the support @DC unlocker is very helpful ! Try doing a live chat with them! Let me know if this helps...
yo bro wont let me send the bands because dont have login and my login says on the app says its not a valid user or password
Need help , I change the setting on my nighthawk and once I’m ready to change the IMEI i Guess my laptop hooks up to my nighthawk and stops the process even tho I’m hooked up to my home internet anyone got a fix ?
How do you tell which band is the best band for faster download before initial setup?
I’ve only been able to determine the faster bands though trial and error but as a rule the higher frequency bands have faster download speeds than the lower ones. For example Band 4 @ 20Mhz will more likely have faster speeds than band 2 @ 10Mhz
Honestly this is the best and easiest step by step guide I've ever seen...now..how do I stop internet slowdown/throttling? Would a really good vpn do it alone? And can this website help change the TTL ? thanks man..
The only way i know of with the nighthawk is to attach a a router with either TTL settings or a VPN router to it. Give the attached router a static Wan IP address (matching the one the nighthawk assigns to it) and dont connect anything else to the nighthawk to avoid double nat hopefully that should do the trick
@@profitgee1 man, you definitely know your stuff, but how would I do that? I bought a router with ddwrt and a vpn option , just waiting for it in the mail..So basically the nighthawk will assign the number, so how do I make the router and the M1 show the same numbers? Hook it up to the ethernet from m1 to router ? Wish you had a site or contact info..I'd pay you man! Lol seriously though
Thanks bro, when DC lock detect the router, did you use USB to connect router to computer?
Yes I used USB to connect the router. Make sure the USB is set to charge & tether in the M1 settings
But....what if the nighthawk pushes a auto update to the firmware. Will that reset the imei number back to the original imei number? Or, could it be that the nighthawk won't update anymore because of the change?
Not sure...my nighthawk hasn't updated since I edited my imei but I did do a factory reset on it since the 1st time I edited the imei ( for an unrelated reason ) and i just re edited the imei # again with this you have unlimited edits on the same router you'll only pay more credits if you want to do a different router
I have to change the IMEI?
I have an att locked nighthawk mr6110. It detects my visible sim and switches to verizon's apn automatically, but won't pick up the signal as it is carrier locked. Would switching the imei number to the imei of the phone the plan is for fix this? Or am i hardware locked to att with this device
Switching the imei should help you
any chance you know how to flash the netgear software so you don't have to use AT&T?
MikeTeddy you don’t have to flash any software just unlock the device from the carrier. In most cases if you contact the carrier (At&t) they will unlock the device for free or you can pay to get credits on DC unlocker and unlock the carrier with this app (3:48 in this video)
I just purchased an unlocked mr1100 unit with the purple screen. Not sure on the difference between the blue and purple screens. It's not letting me connect to any LTE bands. I've tried multiple apn settings, only having success with one and it's only getting 3G or H/H+. Not really sure what to do at this point. Device is unlocked. Wondering if you have any idea what's causing this issue or if going in and adding bands or changing the IMEI to match an existing phone that I already have would fix the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have a $250 paperweight at this point 🤣
Did try switching the sim card? If not I'd try to switch it with a post paid plan sim ( if you have one) if you trying to use a regular phone pre paid sim , many are blocked automatically from working in a hotspot or throttled to unusable speeds. Good luck!
Can you explain how you purchase the credits? Is it through paysera?
As far as I know you can use a credit or debit card to purchase credits 2 years ago I used PayPal
bro if i want to change my sim card i lose all my bands? or the bands are saved on the hotspot?
The bands are saved on the M1 not the SIM card so you’re all good!
Can you toggle through different bands to see which one is better?
You’d have to make a band list with each band to try each on out, you can always re edit the list after you determine the best bands
I have two Netgear Nighthawk MR1100s. Both are already unlocked and I don't need to change the IMEIs. Will I still need any credits to change bands?
Unfortunately yes you will need to have credits because band editing is included with imei editing / or network unlocking but not an option by itself
I have that same nighthawks m1unlocked do u have to repair that imie to get more bands or no just get more band with out repair imie
,
You can't get more bands, you can only edit the band list to choose which bands the m1 uses and yes you have to pay for the IMEI edit (but you don't have to actually change your IMEI) in order to edit the band list
Hello , thanks for sharing , can i do any update after this hack ??? As I ‘m facing signal cut specially in the night and the last update looks line fixing this problem
Mehdi-Fahd Kaidi you can do any update you want if you have to do a hard reset on the M1 it will erase the IMIE edit and the band list edits but you can always go back to dc unlocker and re edit the imie and band list. Once you pay the credits the 1st time you have unlimited re edits with the same device.
@@profitgee1 Thanks a lot for your answer which is very clear, My issues those last two days I'm loosing the 4 g connection in the night and I have to remove the SIM and restart the modem to get working again , do you know for where this problem can come from , the modem has only one week
I'm getting my M1 this week and I got an unlimited plan that has unlimited data.. waiting for the SIM card :) I'll download the "other program" to do other things to allow my m1 new potential when they ask me the IMEI number when activating I gave an old iPhone I had laying around that I don't use anymore. So I need to match that same IMEI in the M1 using repair IMEI to the IMEI I used to activate service?
How do I find out if the nighthawk is unlocked or not? And last questions that no one asks, can I repair/change an IMEI that has been already repaired or it can only be the original IMEI that can be repaired once? Thank you.
You can change the IMEI number as many times as you’d like on the same M1 once you pay the credits to do it the 1st time. And yes I would definitely match the IMEI to the device the service is activated on.
@@profitgee1 awesome 😎 thank you so much for replying back. You definitely won a subscriber and follower !
Is it easy unlocking a locked m1?
And the simcard do we put it after repairing IMEI or after?

hi, is there a way to add LTE Band 40 for my M1 US model, as it does not support B40 here in the mid-east, supposedly I have to buy the EUS model since it supports B40, but made a mistake didn't know the details?
There's no way to add bands to this device. You can only edit the band selection list so that you know which bands you are using or force your m1 to use
@@profitgee1 thanks for the reply.
with this M1 model I’m stuck in B3 only which is quite good during the day but terrible at night as it is crowded band, i guess.
If I change the bands will I have more bars/Signal
Not necessarily but you may get better performance out of certain bands even if the signal is not improved and even if the signal is worse bands that have a wider frequency generally have better speeds
How goes it, Say would you happen to know that when you change the IMEI out, can you clone it to an different mobile hotspot's IMEI ? So icould take my sim outta my crappy franklin t9, and not get noticed when using it on the net work... swapping sims between the two devices will that raise any red flags?
@Angels and Aliens I’d be more concerned about hardware compatibility, make sure the device you want to switch to has a modem that can use your network and it’s bands. Changing the imei number can make it appear to the carrier that it’s the original hotspot but it won’t help it to work if the new hotspot is not compatible with SIM card
@@profitgee1 pefrect, thanks, with a ton of digging i found a way to with CMD , set up a band lock with 18 different combos preset, so i can walk freely between Att, Sprint, T-mobile, and Viaeo. WIth the Right APNs, MAC CLONEs. DC-unlcoker CRacked is still availble on TOr. Peace
What happens if I repair IMEI and add band list with the simcard inserted and the nighthawk m1 cell data on?
Nothing. It didn’t work for me. But have at it if you want to try it that way.
It worked for me 🙂
I'm guessing I dont need the IMEI edit on mine, I just want to add bands or adjust bands once i move to the Philippines later this year. They have different bands there and once i figure out the best band download speeds ill make edits... changing the IMEI would be used for like a plan in the USA that is a tablet plan and i want to make the tablets (imei) not be on the nighthawk? thanks... I just got my M1 so just starting out..
You’re right , editing the IMEI is for those that have a different device tied to their plan , editing the band list will be helpful to aim the M1 towards the bands you want to use, providing they are available where you choose to use the M1
@@profitgee1 thanks a lot. I definitely will be saving this video to help me in a few months. I noticed the firmware that’s on it now is 12.06.39.00 just reading some Reddit posts some are complaining about it. I’ll have to figure out best once I arrive. Just glad it’s unlocked already.
Can I use an IMEI# from an at&t phone that I have thats never been activated? I use a 3rd party internet company (nomad) and one of my sims has already been deactivated by at&t for using this router. They sent me a new one but I am scared to install it because i dont want them to deactivate it again. How can I prevent this from happening?
Editing the imei number can possibly help to prevent the carrier from bricking the SIM card but there are no guarantees I’d also monitor data usage if I were you .....,AT&t is rapidly becoming the worse carrier in my opinion, their service is all over the place during the course of the day and they are quick to brick SIM cards even in this pandemic....shameful ! I wish. Had a T-Mobile tower closer to me and thankful I have Verizon because I definitely wouldn’t want to solely rely on AT&T
You sound like a GTA Character . :D
Can’t believe that most advance and most expensive LTE router doesn’t support LTE band lock feature . Doing this remove the warranty?
Thank you !!
No it's not doing anything physically to the router so the warranty is intact and any changes made can be erased via a hard reset
@@profitgee1 thanks !!
If you are still using the nighthawk. What internet plan are you using on it?
iRey I’m still using the DCP from At&t on it
I'm Already on band 12 LTE is band 2LTE better than band 12 or are they just the same?
Barclay617 it all depends on the cell tower in some cases band 2 may be a 5 Mhz band and band 12 may be a 10 MHz ...if that’s the case band 12 may have the faster data speeds in other cases it may be flipped flopped where band 2 gives you better speed and connectivity...The channel bandwidth is what usually determines how fast the band is ...
20 MHz > 10 MHz , 10 Mhz > 5 MHz ..etc also the amount of traffic on a particular band will affect its performance. The best way to find out is to try each band separate and see which performs best
Does this work on the MR5100 5G modem?
I’m not sure. Reach out to the folks at dc_unlocker they will have a definitive answer.
I have that nighthawk on visible mobile how can I get more speed I get 5mbs internet speed I think I have a cap on visible mobile is there a way to by pass that cap . Any setting I have to change need help

@Steve Tunes I’m Not sure but I’ll look into it
Does the dc unlocked work on the MOFI router to make IMEI repair ?
It has an option for the sierra wireless modem which is the modem that the mofi sim 4 version uses but i haven’t tried it on the mofi so i can’t say for sure
@@profitgee1 Thankyou for the response . When I log into the modem it shows a Sierra MC7455 but that modem is not on dc unlockes list. Everyone says the use dc unlocker on MOFI but I can’t get it to even recognize it
Do you have to change the IEMI to setup which band you want to use?
No. You can customize the band selection without changing the IMEI #
@@profitgee1 can at&t detect if you changed your imei number? I see on my plan that they are trying to keep people from using different routers on my plan...
@@DerBrandt no that's the point. That's why I recommend changing it while the data is off on the m1 The company sees the IMEI # and it matches the device the IMEI was assigned to whether its a phone , tablet, hotspot etc they can't tell that it's an M1 with an edited IMEI
Sorry if this is a repeated question but if I was using TMobile card I can use other carriers bands also?
You can select any of the bands that the M1 modem has however, The broadband on the M1 will only work with the bands T-Mobile uses and will only connect to the available T-Mobile bands in your area.

Splendid video Berryman!! Couple of questions. I have an unlimited little hotspot. It is a coolpad and it sucks completely. This coolpad hotspot has a Sprint sim card in it. Can I buy the nighthawk and change the imei number to match the coolpad? If so, what then. Do I take the sim card out of the coolpad and put it in the Nighthawk? How do I do this? The Sprint plan I have is unlimited but since I live out in the woods, the DL speed is about 5mbps and up is 3mbps. Should I try and buy an unlocked Nighthawk. Throw me a bone Berry...I need help.
Randy Lopez wish I could be more help but the fact is I don’t know if you could use a sprint sim in the M1 ( now that T-Mobile bought sprint you just might be able to) because I know for sure T-Mobile Verizon and of course At&t sims will work in the M1 but sprint has a history of making folks use sprint hotspots for sprint service an alternative to the M1 could be the Mofi (which works with sprint sims ) or you could build your own device like I did ! Good luck brother!
@@profitgee1 Thanks. Let's say sim does work would i just change imei on Nighthawk and insert sim that is on coolpad now?
Randy Lopez yes if it works in the nighthawk you could edit imei number to match your cool pad.
@@profitgee1 Thanks Berryman. Look, I know you busy so just let me ask this. I have my ATT iphone with unlimited data. Would that work or you think they find out that I am using nighthawk?

I want to be able to do a band lock on an ATT M1. do I need to unlock it first to get the band lock to work properly or can it work locked to ATT?
It can be locked to AT&T and you can still edit the band list
@@profitgee1 Thanks for the reply. With using DC-Unlocker to create my custom band lock list, if I want to edit the list in the future I assume it would take more credits to go back in and change?
@@neonrt1999yahoocom nope. For the same router you have unlimited band edits once you pay the initial credits... you can change the band list as much as you want
Hi 2 Questions...what is the benefit of changing the IMEI #? Where do I find a number? Is there a site that generates the number? I have Tmobile and I just want to get my NightHawk M1 to work again
The benefit of changing the imei # on the nighthawk is for it to match the same imei # on the phone or tablet that you may have activated your SIM card in to make it look like the SIM card is still in the phone/tablet to the carrier instead of in the nighthawk. As for it not working it may be that T-Mobile has stopped or throttled the data on your SIM card. Have you tried using a postpaid SIM card in your nighthawk?
@@profitgee1 can we reset back to the original imei if someone already change the imei of the m1 (previous owner)?
@@krabualfonsoo yes you can hard reset the M1 by pressing the button with a pin that's located where the battery/ memory card goes.
Great video. When you went over adding bands, that was a little over my head. Is there a cheat sheet somewhere about all those bands?
I used the one I found from LTEhacks.com, there's a spreadsheet that goes over the band translation in the forum for members
Do you have to buy the credits each time you repair an imei?
No not on the same device. You have unlimited re-repairs on the same device you use credits on
Hey brother quick question how I know what bands to use tobe exact?
@ peak device It depends on few factors .....which carrier your using? Which bands are available in your area / tower? The signal strength and quality and the width of the bands will determine how fast your speed will be ......for example Verizon uses bands 2, 4, 13, and 66 but on your tower Verizon only has bands 4 and 13. If band 13 has a 10 MHz width and band 4 has a 20 MHz width , band 4 will give you faster speeds even if band 13 has better signal strength

One more stupid question. How do I know what band I want to lock it to. Is there a program you use to check the strongest band
@@LarryRichelli not a stupid question use cellmapper.net to find out which towers and bands are in your area then it's trial and error to see which one performs the best remember strongest signal does not always mean best performance

Austin Smith cool and glad it helped!
@Ben Lewis which version of dc unlocker are you using? I know at least one version was having issues but when I contacted the live support on the website they gave me a link to an older version that worked fine also I believe they fixed the problem with later versions released after the version (I think it eneded in 29) that had the issue

Is there a software for changing the ttl??
OL' BEN so you have no problem changing the Ttl but worried about the IMEI #? ....as far as I know the TTL can be changed on a regular router connected to the M1 with ip pass through set to on giving you the same effect of masking your data as streaming vs tethered .

Hi @bERRy gOOd jUICe,
I have an unlocked M1 I'm using with an grandfathered AT&T unlimited plan. My speeds are amazingly fast however I'm experiencing an issue where every 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours my M1 stops providing service to any device that is NOT connected to a VPN. My devices show they are still connect with no internet and the M1 shows it's connected to AT&T LTE with full bars. When this happens I have log into the M1 and reboot it or manually power cycle it to get internet to be served to the devices that were not connected to VPN. Do you know how to fix this issue?
@TOO REAL unfortunately no im not sure why it's doing that. I use my M1 as a modem and have a router inbetween it and my devices with its own firewall settings. Do you use the Wi-Fi directly from your M1? If so how many devices do you have connected at one time ? You may want to consider using a router that can have a VPN on it connected to your m1 and connect all your devices to the router instead of the nighthawk
@@profitgee1
No sir, I don't use the WIFI on my M1 I have a router connected and all my devices are connected to the router. I didn't have this issue until I factory reset my M1 a couple of weeks ago. Before the reset I had zero issues. I contacted NETGEAR and they provide a replacement device but the new/refurbished unit they sent is having the exact same issue as my original.
@@TooReal512 it might be the firmware version that the nighthawk is using can you compare the firmware between the two m1s?

But both are overpriced for the specs they offer in 2021 there are better options out there for cell routers now and mofi is about to release the mofi5500 so unless you find the 4500 sim 4 for $250 or less I wouldn’t recommend getting either one
which mimo antennas to get on Mafi 4500 for att appreciate that replying back
Novice here. Verizon SIM wouldn’t work. I found out the M1 isn’t a “Verizon approved”device. Does this mean that I can turn my Nighthawk into a “phone” or “Verizon Orbic Speed” hotspot just by changing the IMEI number for them and then a Verizon SIM will work in it? Please tell me, “Yes!”
That’s exactly what changing the IMEI number is for! As long as you have hotspot data available on your SIM card you should be good to go, if not ymmv.
Mind blown. Can’t wait for my new SIM to get here. I didn’t want to have to buy their modem when I already have an unlocked M1 and external antenna. I’ll try the IMEI from the Orbic Speed I have. Wondering, though, is there somewhere one may obtain additional IMEI for other devices?Thank you so much!!
Is it possible to aggregate a 3G and 4G band together?
Thomas Shapland I’m not sure ...I guess it would depend on the modem and it’s aggregation combinations I’ve never tried to combine 3G with 4G or LTE because of the gap in data speeds.
@@profitgee1 Just curious if possible due to the availability of bands in a particular area!
hi I would like to know where do I get the new IMEI number from
You do not need a “new” imei number the imei numbers people are taken from phones or tablets that they already own.
@@profitgee1 i did thanks are you getting the Netgear nighthawk M5
@Life82 most likely not ...at least not for a long time there’s no 5G coverage in my area and probably won’t be any for a long time
Yo, fabulous tutorial!!! Question though. Once you do the steps as you stated, will this allow me to use the actual 4G LTE data usage or will it detect it as a "hotspot"? Trying to bypass this so my provider doesn't know I'm actually using my nighthawk as a hotspot. I believe it's bypassing the LLT ?
Rafael C it’s bypassing the TTL (Time To Live) and no the nighthawk itself doesn’t have TTL settings but you can tether a router that does have those settings to your Nighthawk’s Ethernet port
@@profitgee1 do most routers have the ttl setting? Or are there only a select few
@@profitgee1 wouldnt changing imei number to the phone active sim on work? i just started watching video so maybe you cover that,. oh wait ttl is probably different, and ... meh we will see
edit: it randomly worked for no reason whatsoever 5 minutes after i posted this
Hey man. I did everything recommended and was able to band lock it but I am unable to change the imei on mine.
No sim card in, tethering set to charge and tether (don't see anywhere about data), ip pass through, data off.
But something wierd is happening also and it's definitely related.
Even thought I'm connected to the internet via S9+ verizon hotspot, my download is fine but i have no upload speed whatsoever, which I believe is why it keeps aborting test servers on repair imei
That’s weird , glad it finally worked tho!
@@profitgee1 thanks for the video! I got hit the the mobile broadband disconnected and this is my only option for good internet!
SORRY FOR THE BOTHER, DC UNLOCKER says MODEM NOT FOUND i did every you showed but not found the modem HELP please
All I can tell you is keep trying and try switching between ip pass through both on and off maybe remove the SIM card if you haven’t just to ensure your not using the nighthawks internet connection…good luck!
@@profitgee1 thank you 😊
Hi...
It is necessary to change the phone number that appears in my iPad or the IMEI only? I can change it with DC Unlocker? Thanks...
No you don’t need to change your phone number and you are only changing the imei # on the nighthawk to match the iPad imei #
O.K., last question...
I found 3 diferent Netgear Nighthawk M1 for sale.
Which one is the one?
MR1100 100NAS vs 1a1nas vs 2a...
@@luisrobles7195i have the mr1100 100NAS its the unlocked one
So I should not buy the other two versions even though the seller says is unlocked?
Changing the IMEI in the M1 bypass att hotspot throttling in my att plan of that tablet? I am about to pull the triggers and I need these answers...
I need your help... thank you

How do you disable auto lock to lock it to a band?
Gary Faulkner you create a band list that includes only the band you want the M1 to use and it will lock on to only that band when it’s selected no need to disable anything
@@profitgee1 so why should I repair to new imei number ?
@@RSAF100 it depends on how you activated your service. Many people that use the nighthawk are using a data plan that they activated with a tablet , repairing the imei allows the user to give the nighthawk the same imei as the tablet or phone
What. Usb u using. Bc it says my modem not found
@Tony K The Usb C port on the M1 to a Usb A port on my computer ....make sure you have the cell data turned off and IP pass through is turned on and data tethering is enabled on the USB port ( same screen as IP pass through) before you connect the M1 to the dc locker app
U da man. But I’m getting a error 62. Ima figure it out. I’m up late tinkering with it. Good looking yo. They say not yo leave the sim in. But then it says it’s not connecting to server but
Tony K I’m with you now. I get error 62 now. Have you gotten past it yet?
Can u add a band like say band 17
For At&t band 12 &17 are the same. But no you can only use bands that are already on the M1
bERRy gOOd jUICe do you think it is for other countries as well?
@@876Tropics I'm not sure about other countries
Did everything you said, got to repair imei. Basically it is not connecting to the server. I have the netgear aircard 797, i do not see an option for tethering but i did do the ip passthrough. I feel like when it is connecting to the dc server, the pc thinks the aircard is a network and cannot connect? My laptop is connected to a seperate phones hotspot. So i am stuck because the pc seems to pick the aircard as a network priorty when trying to connect to the DC server after changing the imei
UPnP??
I recently did my neighbor’s Nighthawk and I ran into the same problem then I turned IP passthrough off on his nighthawk and it worked ...my wouldn’t work unless I had it on... strange his model is slightly different from mine maybe try it with IP passthrough off
Also, not seeing aircard 797 under supported models in dc unlocker.. but it has no problem detecting it..
Okay I was thinking about that but i wanted to hear from the pro! thank you for this amazing video. I will update you next weekend when i do it. They've only used around 40gbs this month so ill head back next weekend and see if that will work!
@@Slick_Willy47 ok good luck ! Look forward to hearing how it works!
Hey man, I used your method and has worked great. But today when I got home from work the nighthawk says "broadband data disconnected". I have tried rebooting it and it never gives me a signal just the bars. I've also checked my data plan and everything is good there to. It's auto renewing like normal. I dont know what to do, please help
Are you using the AT&T data connect plan? If so they will still take your money after stopping your data and once it’s stopped the plan is over so make sure you stop autopay and you’ll need a new data plan ....If it’s not the DCP then contact your provider to trouble shoot
@@profitgee1 yes I am using att. Its just odd it went out half way through the billing cycle. And I believe they stopped the 34.99 a month plan and I was "grandfathered" in. Have any other good plans I could use with this? And thx
@@austinsmith3931 yea it sucks and At&t sucks for shutting it down because of data usage when it’s supposed to be unlimited. If you want to stay with At&t there are resellers that are more expensive like Bix wireless or if T-Mobile or Verizon are available in your area Visible (Verizon) may be an option and T-Mobile has a home internet service for $50/ month
@@profitgee1 i have another nighthawk in the house with the same service as the one that isn't working. And it still works fine. If I change the imei number do you think that would make a difference?
@@austinsmith3931 not if the sim card is bricked ...it won't work in any device
Where do I get a new IMEI number?
Buy broken device off ebay is your best bet. As long as it's lte compatible with whatever plan your hotspot will be on. It's riskier to use generated imei #s.
Hello, I’ve managed to unlock, but can’t edit bands. Do I need more credit to edit bands and how much? Thanks for help
joe badabuchi aka MGD as far as I know you should be able to edit bands on the same router that you unlocked without any additional credits
New sub and ya got my like! I just bought a used nighthawk, turned out to be the purple screen non branded version. I just purchased a T-Mobile sim and data plan for 50 a month. My phones are through Verizon but T-Mobile was cheaper, could I change the slip one a Verizon card in a change the imei and run it off that for free? I’m trying to see the benefits of why you would change the imei if not. Trying to find some good forums on what all can be done with this thing. ThNks in advance!
Thanks for the like and subscribing! changing the imei number just makes it appear that the SIM card is in the device (phone or tablet) its supposed to be in and not the nighthawk but it may not stop any throttling the carrier already sets on the SIM when it detects its in a hotspot and not a phone
@@profitgee1 I figured it out! I’m learning!! Thanks for the help bro!! Much appreciated!! I need to learn now about how to bypass throttling on t-mobile and locking the bands, pretty cool little hotspot router!
@@jaminjim44 that’s awesome man!
@@jaminjim44 Hi, did you ever find out how to not get throttled on T-Mobile?
@@MacBookBro1 i tried some program and unlocked a bunch of other channels but nothing seemed to work to give me unthrottled i read you can get a business account and get unthrottled internet tho but haven’t tried it.

@iRey what are you talking about? There are no options to change specific bands in settings on the MR1100 only groups of bands
When I search for my device it says: Access denied! Check firewall, antivirus, try to launch software as Administrator!
Trying to unlock my Nighthawk to use with Visible
I am assuming it will connect once I create a login and buy credits?
@@realliveboss5381 it should connect even if you don't have credits also if you are just trying unlock it from At&t you can have at&t unlock the device for free. Contact them. Use this for imei edits and making custom band lists
Ok... thanks for your reply... not sure why it's saying that then... I have 2 Nighthawks and one won't recognize any sim and the other will only work on at&t Sims... I actually just contacted them about the first one yesterday... I have WiFi but trying to make use of these routers since the data connect pass was cancelled
Right click on the app and select run as administrator. It should work
Does this work on the lb1120?
Nope. The Lb1120 only has 4 LTE bands I’ve found with At&t if want it to switch from band 12 to band 2 , I just turn it off then when it comes back on it usually switches the band to whichever is best for speed
@@tdemaree its a hotspot so it has its limitations as far as range and no ethernet port to tether a home router but besides that it's a cat 9 modem with carrier aggregation. I actually had one when I first got AT&T for my cell phone a couple of years ago I tried to get the home base for home internet and they sent me this instead ( a much better device) but with only 15 GBs/month I didn't know about the DCP and sim swapping at the time so I returned it because the data plan was weak but I found the range to be decent (as far as hotspots go) but no where near the nighthawk when its on long range
@@profitgee1 I'd like another nighthawk, but the price keeps going up.. I'll keep looking on eBay.. thnks
Ty Demaree I just bought one of those kuwfi routers ( mofi knock-off ) can’t get it to work waiting to see if I can get help from kuwfi it recognizes the sim but can’t register the carrier yeah the nighthawks are crazy expensive now I’ve seen some for $700 .....that’s crazy!

anyone else having trouble connecting back to the router to turn data back on and ip pass-through off? any answers? i'm so close! also, thanks for the vid bERRY gOOd jUICe 🙏🏾
David Craig I had to do it a couple of times myself the 1st time I tried it ...you may want to make sure your laptop is only connected to the M1 once your done editing and not the other internet source
@@profitgee1 bruuuu.... THANK YOU! second go around completely work 🙏🏾
why can't you just add the new bands to the list without changing imei? imei changing is usually for network blocked/stolen devices
You can edit the band list without editing the IMEI , and no one is advocating to use this for ANY stolen device.
i keep getting modem not found
I did as well the first couple of times I tried it make sure all the settings are as per video then make sure your computer/ laptop is seeing the M1 attached to it but not using its internet connection. I prefer the usb connection over the Ethernet one.
