Just installed my talon grips thanks to your video. Looks and feels way better! I can’t believe I went so long without getting this grip, makes a world of a difference!
Talon Grips are for those people who want a little extra "grip" without going to the extent of stippling their firearms. I've used the Talon Grips for a S&W Shield, Glock 17, 19, 23, 26, and 36. The rubberized version works fantastically for a concealed carry firearm. The granulated version really grabs the hand but will also grate your unprotected skin while concealed carrying.
Guys, I put G43 Talon grips on my G42. Had to make a tiny trim around the mag release, little extra to tuck under, but not a problem. Love the way it came out, no gaps on the back strap. Looks like it is all one piece. Great video!!
I got same talon grip and G42, thanks for the vid and showing how to properly put it on… the hair dryer really puts that perfect touch to it, i love it!!!!
Thanks for vid. Talon vendor at NRA convention 2018 said to watch demo online for getting right 1st time. His best advice was get rubber one if gun carried close to bare skin. I found it better to remove slide (safety of course) but more for ease of handling receiver while putting tape on.
I've had my talon sandpaper grips on my 19 for almost 3 years now.. the sand paper still eats my love handle a little when it rides.. I've been waiting this long to change to rubber. They won't die! Heavy use only looks slightly worn.
I've got a set of the granulate grips on my Smith & the Wesson SD9VE. While they work really well, when it comes time to replace them I'm gonna get the rubberized, because the granulate hangs up on my clothes. Another great review, as usual!
ya know Sootch, my buddy asked me "why do u have to watch a vidio to put rubber grips on"? I said this guy (you) has great vidios. than my buddy messed up his talons. I laughed so hard. keep up the great vidios.
Great video ! Finally broke down and ordered a set....wow. I am very very pleased with these grips.Only wish I done this years ago . I cant believe the difference they make ! Order put in for the rest of my Glocks ." These should be stared issue with all Glocks. 😎
Thanks for the video, I have a G43 in my rotation of carry guns and my wife carries a G42. I will definitely add them to ours. Keep up the good fight, RedriverChris from Oklahoma
Christine Strauss I keep all my brass for reloading or sending it in for credit to companies who reload ammo. No question is idiotic. It's the way we learn : )
Hey Sootch great video had a question for ya these talon grips for the G43 did you and Skinnymedic both use the rubberized talon grips ??? Or was either of them the regular like grip tape type talon grips ???
I have to ask. At the end of the video when you were plinking I noticed you were letting the trigger out fully before firing again. I find the trigger reset on a glock is one of its best features so you don't have to let the trigger all the way back out. Is there a specific reason you let it all the way back out? Thanks.
I like these, but i don't like how a lot of the edges don't quite line up (especially on the back of the grip). Whereas there are no edges when the gun is stippled. Any suggestions on getting the rubberized usefulness without the poor-fit-look of those edges?
Terry Free It's the same process with whatever gun you ad the Talon Grip to. I have them on a lot of non Glock pistols as well and they work like a champ. Thanks
The very rough sand paper Talon Grips and too abrasive for CCW. I really like the Talon product for EDC/CCW. They are very "grippy" yet easy on the over garment.
Funky Fresh Those type of grips do not hold up to serious use. I have used Talon Grips in Tactical Response Fighting Rifle and Fighting Pistol training classes and they held up well. Make sure you TRAIN with any gear you would consider for defensive, serious use.
Hey Don, I'm in the UK and I'm interested in getting my hands on a UK legal (22lr, 12"barrel, metal rod attached to make it 24" long) sig p226 or a glock 17. I was wondering which one you prefer to shoot? The sig is modified by Icon arms, and the glock is put together by Suffolk rifle using glock compatible parts. May be you could make a video directly comparing a sig to a glock? If I do get a glock I'm getting a set of These to go on it! All the best Cameron
Thanks!!! Great video!!! Will give me a leg up when I install talon grips on some of my range and comp style guns. This will save me time and the possibility of screwing up and having to order a second set!!!! Thanks Again!!!
My 19 year old tells me she thinks Skinny Medic is hot. I did tell her he has a wife. She told me I bet he duse with how cute he is.. Women Lol !! God Bless Gents.
***** If she finds out you guys are just upstate I may be in trouble. We are in the Lowcountry lol.. God Bless Don. You brother have been a blessing to us all.
+kornskydiver I have tractiongrips on 2 of my pistols and have used Talon as well. Tractiongrips are great quality and about half the price of Talon. I highly recommend them.
+kornskydiver Didnt like them, it may vary on some pistols but the traction grips were a multi-piece design where as the talon grips was 1 solid piece for my pistol. It was enough to spend another 10$ for me.
+David Red Eagle i just picked up a set last week for my glock 43 and the tractiongrips was actually in one piece and it even extended underneath the trigger guard. I'm sure they differ b/w models like you mentioned but im very impressed tbh. I paid $9 for the grips plus an addition $4 for three additional mag extension pieces. I will probably purchase a set of talons just to compare but the rubber material look identical
Ya, they seem to both offer similar rubber texture and a more sand paper like texture. If there good I might see what other pistols I would want to add traction grips to and give them both a try.
4 generations of unimproved grips. 4 generations of inadequate plastic sights. 4 generations of not being able to shoot lead bullets. I love how this video doesn't even make any remarks about how glocks can't shoot lead bullets... the only ones a prepper will eventually be able to use. So recommending glock as a brand doesn't follow. This is why scootch00 is a salesman and a total sellout.
Why mentally ill? All most of us do is prepare for something bad, that we hope doesn't happen. Social disorder and chaos is a part of lifeand will eventually happen here. Anything can cause a shit hits the fan, solar flare, meteorite impact, volcanic eruption, earthquake, terror attacks, massive electric infrastructure failure... Being ready for any of those things does not make us mentally ill, it means that us and our families have a much higher chance of surviving. How long would YOU live if something knocked out the electrical grid, for weeks, months, or even a year or more?
atomicdeath10 False, false, false, false, false and false. You can avoid all of those things and/or they are highly improbable. And if you can't avoid those events, then it would be unexpected... how do you prepare for the unexpected? You don't! That's why they call it unexpected. Preppers can use any excuse in the book that they want but ultimately prepping is just another cult where its leaders milk people of their resources and seek to control others. Those willing participants who are undoubtedly ignorant on the odds and probability of such events... probably don't even save their money at all. And this is where the problem really begins. When you look at the country's financial state... people aren't better off for some very good reasons: mostly ignorance. Preppers are ignorant on money matters. They tell you to buy gold but never suggest when a good time to sell is... (I guess that's never)... but supposing there is an earthquake, that gold becomes very worthless very quickly. I don't care who you are or what you think has value. In certain situations, those metals are about as valuable as pot metal.
campsite a Can you be totally prepared for every possible event and/or outcome? No, to think otherwise is ignorant. However you can give yourself an edge over those who are unprepared. Think whatever you want, I'll still keep my go bag in my truck.

Talon grips are nice upgrade to G42 & G43. Easy to install and definitely a plus. TY for the video
Good information. I have never been one to accessorize a GLOCK; but, these Talon grips may be the exception. Thank you and Skinny Medic for sharing.
Guys, I put G43 Talon grips on my G42.

That USA stamped on the slide.... Hell yeah.
You made a very good instructional video for these grips. The kind of video that the company should have put out.
Thanks for vid. Talon vendor at NRA convention 2018 said to watch demo online for getting right 1st time. His best advice was get rubber one if gun carried close to bare skin. I found it better to remove slide (safety of course) but more for ease of handling receiver while putting tape on.

"we're like Rhett & Link!" haha best comment in a sootch video!!

I really like the talon grips on my G43!
SkinnyMedic are you still carrying your G43?
Great instruction! I installed a Talon grip tonight on my new G43.
these really intimidated me, so I was going to get a universal sleeve. thank you so much for the great instruction! I'm sold: buying some now.
Great video. I couldn't feel how hot that grip got, though. Guess my touch screen wasn't working!
Have you decided if you're going to to get a 43?
Great video. Love the bloopers at the end. Keep up the great work!
ya know Sootch, my buddy asked me "why do u have to watch a vidio to put rubber grips on"? I said this guy (you) has great vidios. than my buddy messed up his talons. I laughed so hard. keep up the great vidios.
This video will Definitely help. I'm going to put a set of these on my G43x. Thank u good video.
Enjoy your work Don. I love the Talon grips on my XDS and XD
Excellent how-to video, as always. These are especially nice on small guns. I put some on my M&P .380.
Great instructional video. Talon however recently has gotten cheap. You now only get ONE alcohol pad. Thanks again.
The hair dryer was the key. I just put these on my G43 and it's a big difference for the better.
Great video ! Finally broke down and ordered a set....wow. I am very very pleased with these grips.Only wish I done this years ago . I cant believe the difference they make ! Order put in for the rest of my Glocks ." These should be stared issue with all Glocks. 😎
Thanks for the video and help I just installed some on my glock 43 Love the Talon grips they are amazing .
Just purchased a 43 yesterday I believe I'm going to order these
the Good Mythical Morning reference made me chuckle lol awesome channel
Nikolas Roque I've seen this video a hundred times and never noticed it until now lol.
Awesome!! Looks like some really sharp stippling!!
Just added them to my M&P Shield. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video, I have a G43 in my rotation of carry guns and my wife carries a G42. I will definitely add them to ours. Keep up the good fight, RedriverChris from Oklahoma
Please forgive this possibly idiotic question but you go thru a lot of ammo I bet, are the shell casings reusable or recyclable? Thanks.
Christine Strauss I keep all my brass for reloading or sending it in for credit to companies who reload ammo. No question is idiotic. It's the way we learn : )

Nice video!
How do these grips feel against the skin with the firearm concealed in an IWB holster? Is an undershirt required?
Jeremy
Jeremy Adley It's very comfortable. The Granulate style would need an undershirt.
Had these put on my 43, I liked the stock grip but like it much more now with the talon grip
Just earned a new subscriber. Please do more SHTF combat load out and battle chest rigs
Thanks for the review. Now I know what I need on my glocks.
If you dont have a heat gun get some tin foil shape it like a cone and put it on a stove on the lowest flame now youll have a makeshift heatgun
Nice job. Was that the rubber or granulate texture grips?
Does the Talon Grip still fit the Glocks with the interchangeable back straps? I have the Glock 27 as well for CCW and Glock 23 for on duty.
I like these, but i don't like how a lot of the edges don't quite line up (especially on the back of the grip). Whereas there are no edges when the gun is stippled. Any suggestions on getting the rubberized usefulness without the poor-fit-look of those edges?
Great instruction video....thanks for posting it.
Another great video Sootch. That's a nice watch you got there...what's the brand if you don't me asking'?
I love my talon grips on my glock 19 had them on for a h out 5 months jow w8th no problems
I don't have a hair dryer. Guess I'll have to use my oven to heat the grips.
Lol
I don't own a group but I do see the usefulness of talon grips!
I meant a glock
Terry Free It's the same process with whatever gun you ad the Talon Grip to. I have them on a lot of non Glock pistols as well and they work like a champ. Thanks
I appreciate what you do. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I want to learn how to be more self sufficient. So, I've learned a lot from you.
Terry Free Thank you my friend.
The very rough sand paper Talon Grips and too abrasive for CCW. I really like the Talon product for EDC/CCW. They are very "grippy" yet easy on the over garment.
Grip gloves do the job just fine for the guns I have that need it. Just slip on and off. No problems.
Funky Fresh Those type of grips do not hold up to serious use. I have used Talon Grips in Tactical Response Fighting Rifle and Fighting Pistol training classes and they held up well. Make sure you TRAIN with any gear you would consider for defensive, serious use.
Mine get the job done. That's why they make different types. One style does not fit all.
You should consider looking at the Kel Tec Sub 2000. I think it's a pretty awesome gun.
So I’ve put these on all my pistols so far, but I’ve been curious. When removed, do they leave any sticky residue?
Good grips i use the rubber ones they feel alot better for conceal carry
I really liked the model. :)
Don, show Skinny Medic how to reset his trigger when shooting.FWIW

The UK is so damn communist, you should move down to jersey. We can have pistols and real rifles.
kellyput1 You must live in a communist parish. which one?
Very informative!!! Thanks!!!
Did you say "we're like Rhett and Link"
Tactical Ultimatum Yep a gmm reference.
Gotta love the Talon's!
Does it leave the handles sticky , if you decide to remove them later ?
Thanks for the helpful video.
You didn't get the strip for the pinkie extension on the 43's magazine?
Are these grips available in FDE too? (For a glock 19 Gen 3 in FDE)
Delta6 No, just black.
talongungrips.com/grips/glock/19-23-25-32-38-new.html
Delta6 Good idea ! :)
Nice vid with you guys.
Are these the Rubber or Plastic option they have both listed?? TIA
Now I have to go out and buy a hair dryer.
Thanks!!! Great video!!! Will give me a leg up when I install talon grips on some of my range and comp style guns. This will save me time and the possibility of screwing up and having to order a second set!!!! Thanks Again!!!
Thanks for the video!
talon grips rocks!!
what material or fabric that they offer do you recommend?
Nice video
Bought some on Amazon for 20$ couple days ago
Wait he just dropped a GMM reference?
You make this application process look to be idiot proof……..now maybe I can do it too :-)
This is like installing grip tape on a broad.👍
How about the 2 round mag. extension?
Awesome
Are those sandpaper or rubber?
My 19 year old tells me she thinks Skinny Medic is hot. I did tell her he has a wife. She told me I bet he duse with how cute he is.. Women Lol !! God Bless Gents.
yankey4 That will give him the big head. I'll make sure I tell Mrs Skinny Medic to stay on her toes : ) Thanks
yankey4 haha your poor daughter may need glasses
SkinnyMedic Hehehe
***** If she finds out you guys are just upstate I may be in trouble. We are in the Lowcountry lol.. God Bless Don. You brother have been a blessing to us all.
yankey4 Thank you!
They're so up to date they don't even have Sig 220...
Does anyone know how these compare to traction grips?
