In this video we will discuss the history and development of the firearm, and provide side by side comparison with other popular models to establish scale and help visualize what it would be like carry this based on familiar platforms. We will outline all of the features, and how these features may or may not be important to you based on your personal needs. Range performance will also be discussed along with different tested methods of carry and how comfortable it is to carry on a regular basis. Last, we will provide an overall opinion of how this firearm stacks up for concealed carry purposes. Thanks for watching!

I picked the 43 over the 43x due to ease of carry, concealability, and less weight. Ounces can really make a difference if you carry everyday for 8-12 hours a day.

I'm an ex-cop and I trained heavily on Glocks. So, it will always be my "go to" firearm as far as familiarity. I just picked up a used 43 with Pierce +1 extensions on both the magazines. With a hogue grip, this gun fits my hand perfectly. I have a Sig P365 as well, which is also an outstanding gun, but a Glock for me is like a perfect worn-in pair of jeans. It just feels right. Glocks, you either love em' or you hate em'. I will always have one in my possession. Great review!

Hey brother. Been a cop for 15 years now and know exactly what you mean. Plus I'm a Glock armorer and a police firearms instructor so I train and train (and train) on Glock just about every day. So yeah, since a Glock is what I have by far the most experience on, Glock.

@@troytruong8246 been a firearms instructor for police officer (and im an active duty cop), plus I was a Small Arms Instructor in the military. Get asked (a lot) what gun should such and such carry. My answer is 100% of the time "the one you fight best with". The 365 is not inherently a superior platform to the Glock. In my opinion (mine) the trigger is better on a 43 (remember I have about 2 decades of experience on Glock so its what I'm used to and trained to) as I carry a Glock on duty everyday. The 365 has a higher capacity, that in of itself doesn't make it the better platform. It is a bonus. As I said before, stick with what you know. Where the Glock has Sig beat is reliability. And the more confident I am with my weapon the better I'll fight with it.

Excellent review. You helped change my mind. I own the 43, a Sig P-365 and a Springfield Hellcat (as far a micros are concerned). The 43 is by far the most comfortable to carry. It's smaller, thinner and for me most importantly the grip while it's textured enough to get a good grip, it's not too abrasive like that on the Sig and Hellcat. I can carry the 43 IWB all day and the grip doesn't feel like sandpaper against my skin. However, I got caught up in the whole "is 6+1 enough" mindset and started carrying the Sig @10+1 or my Hellcat @13+1. The rule of 3 you mentioned makes a lot of sense, so I'm back to carrying the 43 as my every day carry weapon. It's so damn comfortable it's almost easy to forget it's there. Thanks for posting such an outstanding review.

Scoot over, I’m in the same boat LOL. I bought a shield back in 2014 when a buddy was getting one and he picked one up for me. I’ve since been on that roller coaster of “maybe that would be better”, in fact, just recently picked up a p365x. But, as video says, and it’s something I tell myself often, chances of having to use one are rare, chances of needing more than 3 res very rare, so why carry a thicker, heavier piece all the time? I did get the Pearce +1 extension for the 43 and they don’t add any length over factory pinky extension, feel great and it gets you to 7+1.

Love my 43, switched to it after getting a 43x when I tried finding a lighter option for the spring and summer months. 43x initially was a good option but I'm sure it was just the honeymoon phase with it. Eventually I figured the 43 was the better option. Much smaller and with extended baseplates was able to make up for the capacity.
To me the added length wasn't worth it for 3-4 extra rounds with the 43x. At that point I'd rather just buy a Sig P365 or a Hellcat. Regardless my 43 serves its purpose. Super easy to carry and I can live with 6+1 and carry one or two spare mags with extended baseplates.

I love my 43! The reason I keep it over getting a 43X is because the 43 can go in a pocket. I've done the following to my G43: Trijicon HD sights, Talon Grips to improved texture, an improved trigger disconnector, a TLR-6 for light and laser, and Magguts +1 and +2 options for the 6rd mags gives me 7 +1 with a flush mag and an 8rd backup mag for a total of 16rds of 9mm Federal HST. Those upgrades and improved capacity is more than sufficient in any scenario that I can think I'd ever get myself into.
BONUS TIP: If you are a fellow lefty, a G43 mag is very easy to carry in the little watch pocket on the right-hand side of jeans! You're welcome!

I have a 43x that gets the nod most days but when I need maximum concealment and power, the PF9SS takes the cake. I’m good with 6 + 1. I don’t carry with a plus 1 because it defeats the purpose of max concealment for me. I’ll carry the 7 rd mag as a backup. Hell, I carry a 5 or 6 shot revolver quite often without hesitation. Decent video. I own a 43(polymer80 version), 43x mos, hellcat, a 642 smith j frame and used to own a sig 938. I owned a 43 until the hellcat came out. The hellcat vs 43 is the better comparison IMO. The hellcat has a better trigger, 11+1 with the flush round and factory night sights, all in the exact same footprint as the 43, plus the ability to add a light or laser, with much better grip to hang onto it. The 43x was behind the 8 ball when it came out with only having 10 round capacity. The hellcat with the 13+1 was slightly shorter on the grip, and so was the 365, and you still got a rail to mount things, a nicer trigger and night sights for realistically the same money. Now the shield arms s15 mags made the 43x relevant, but so did the hellcat releasing 15 round mags. The 43x does shoot a tad better for its size than the rest of the choices, but I still usually catty the hellcat.
People get caught on they want the most rounds, the most comfortable shooting gun at the smallest size. You have to pick two out of the three. The smaller the gun, the more harsh it is to shoot to most people, but easier to carry. The bigger frames are easier to shoot, but harder to conceal.

Two year old video, but it's useful and may help people that are new to conceal carry. I have both the Glock 43 and the Glock 43X MOS. Both pistols have their uses and I don't have any issue concealing either one, even though I'm tall and thin. I choose to conceal the 43 or the 43X MOS based on certain situations and the needs I may have based on those situations. When I'm in a more public area, where You could encounter a mass shooter, I want the pistol I can make the most accurate shot with. With the Glock 43X MOS having a larger grip you have more control over the pistol and can make long distance shots fairly easily. I use the Glock 43 for most other situations, usually less people and less likely to run into a threat. Now, this changes due to weather and temperature, since I'm a Floridian. You're gonna favor the lighter smaller pistol when it's hot and humid, since you'll want to pocket carry a lot. I usually go up in size when it gets colder, so I'll only use the Glock 43x MOS for colder months but I will bring out my Glock 19 when it's really cold, but that's pretty rare.

Love my g43x m.o.s. Put a trijicon rmr cc on it, put in a heavy tungsten guide rod, and a 3.5lb trigger connector. Shoots like a dream. As for conceal ability, I’m only 5’5 and have no issues conceal carrying.

I use many different modes of carry from IWB, OWB, belly band, pocket carry and pack for my G43. I was at first upset that Glock didn't make the 43X with mags to fit the 43. I began to realize that the modes I normally carry wouldn't support it anyway without printing or making it less comfortable to carry. I carry a NAA Mini Master as a backup. Both guns are comfortable and reliable to carry.

I love the G43. I own two of them! I also have the 26, 43x, 48, 19, 17, 17L, 34. I also have the smaller 42 (380), but I always come back to my 43 for when I need ultra concealability in a 9mm. When ultra concealability isn’t really needed, then it’s my 43x as my edc ccw.

All about choice and that’s what great today. I have the 43x. I feel like it is very easy to conceal. I can conceal a 19 no problem but when I want something smaller I have the 43x which is slimmer. I also have a 26 as another option. My only comment about the smaller pistols is I see a lot of people advocate for them but then carry with mag extensions. At that point you may as well have gone with a 43x or if you extend your G26 mag you may as well go with the 19. The grip ends up almost the same size.

I’ve had the Glock 43 since it came out I think (2016/2017?). Came with night sights. All I’ve done is put talon grips, installed a ghost trigger bar, and had a gun smith do the under cut to the trigger guard for a high grip. All this cost me under $50. For magazines I have a TT plus one which is almost identical length to the oem and a TT plus two as a spare. For a ccw in a blue state. This is all I need. I also bought the desantis slim tuck for the holster and it’s pretty comfy

One of the things I had an issue with with the p938, is that I have big hands, and I kept hitting the mag release *while* I was shooting. So that was a no go. I wanted something light, and I saw Glock had the G42, but I wanted my conceal carry in 9mm. So when Glock released this little beauty, I ran down and got one. I still like it better than the 43x, and with the z9 mags, you can carry 10 rds with it, which is sufficient for C&C. I loved the 938 when I first saw it, but the glock performed much better for me.

I also think that in most cases 6+1 is fine. But if you already go with this pinky extension you also could ad a +1 base plate which isnt bigger. Or Magguts offer +1 follower makes it a 7+1 with your flush mag or in addition to a +1 plate that is even a bit smaller than the Glock factory pinky extension which makes it a 8+1 without making the pistol significant bigger. I think these a great upgrades. And 9 shots are almost double the capacity of a 5 shot snubby.

good review. i carry a 43, and you must remember that it is purly a selfdefens wepon to be used withing 10 meters range. if your into long distance shooting than you may not be using the right gun or your not really defending youself. it is a gun that you have to practice extensivly in drawing and puting 2-3 rounds in center of mass without aiming. it is a bit jumpy so you should also get proficiant in hitting your target with the first round. that being said drawing from the waist and releasing a round should take about 1 sec. the same thing with racking the slid about 1.5 sec. I had yet to best 3.9 sec drawing out of a pouch .racking the slid and putting 2 rounds on target. always practice racking the slid , u never know when the gun will have a malfunction. it is ugly, there are guns out there that might fit more snugly in your hand but it is an efficiant tool, flawless in function and as reliable as can be

I picked up a Glock 43 right after they were introduced. I added night sights. I also have a Glock 19 Gen 3. I love them both they are reliable firearms. That said - EDC the 43 is for me the choice.
I am like you in that I know that if I have to use a firearm for defense it will most likely be in close range situations. I mention that to make the point that at the range I actually find that I have better groups at long distance with the 43. My double stack 19 I find that I will drop the barrel just slightly so my groups are low and to the left of the the bullseye. With the 43 I have tighter groups.
Thanks for the review - I concur with your thoughts.

I love my G43. I tried the 43X, 48. But just no competition when it comes to ease of carry and concealability. Magguts +2 is great. Anything more, than I switch to my G19.5 or G17.5. When in the woods, I carry my G20 or G29.

Yeah pretty much the same with me 43x feels great in the hand but it's just a little too big for me especially considering I like the pocket carry. Also there's many companies that make plus one two and threes for the magazine. Magguts adds one round to the OEM Glock magazines without adding any size 7 plus one pretty cool! 👍

It's still my favorite and most reliable. I have two smaller pistols, Taurus Spectrum 380 and my crappy Diamondback DB9 Gen 4. The DB has been in repair 4 times and not fun to shoot. In Texas heat you want the smallest to EDC. I do have +2, +3, +4 and a 12 mag though. I'll never get rid of it. In Fact I got OWB holster because we just got Constitutional Carry. It's so fun and easy to shoot and the most reliable of all my guns.

      Good Afternoon Bear Merica
Greetings from Georgia where Constitutional Carry is alive and well. Like Texas, it is extremely hot and humid most of the year. My EDC is a Glock 42 that I pocket carry. As you know, the price of .380 ammo is fugging ridiculous, so I'm definitely looking to add a Glock 43 to my EDC rotation. When I finally purchase the 43, I'm going to carry it in an OTW holster as well. Personally, the 42 is the largest firearm I feel comfortable pocket carrying. Which brand OTW holster do you prefer for the 43? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
      Take care

You could always put a Saf-T Block in the trigger guard if you are worried about not having a manual safety but still want the gun racked. I use one on my 43 and it works awesome. Pull the gun out of the holster and when you go to pull the trigger it pops out with hardly any pressure. Yet with it in you can't accidentally pull the trigger if you get it caught on clothing or the holster. Give me piece of mind for sure

I personally think the Shield Z9 mags changes the Glock 43's dynamics to the point where the 43 becomes a new pistol. I'm really in the market now for a Glock 43 and buying a shield arms Z9 package as my CZ P10S is just that tad too big for optimum Conceal Carry.
