Even though my mom never knit a stitch in her life- she encouraged me to knit and was very knit worthy! She wasn’t afraid to try embroidery, sewing, crocheting, drapery and upholstering, etc! Such an inspiration!

my mom has always been my rock! we live together, i'm 63 and she is 86 now. last week i was very ill and she took such good care of me as i was unable to. she balances that fine line of giving what is needed without hovering or being overly nervous. i thank god for my mom. btw she taught me to sew before i was in kindergarten, and has encouraged my creativity my whole life, which i am so grateful for. and i'm knitting my 5th emotional support chicken, using a bag of scraps!

I lost my mom in February 2006 and I miss her every single day. She was my Champion. I agree with Pam that in most cases, no one loves you as unconditionally as your mom. That was certainly true for me.
My mom passed in 2021 and I miss her cheerful, loving spirit! ❤
Dina and Pam, I love this episode. My mom's favorite saying was "get all the goodie out" and that was her approach to life! She died in 2021 and I miss her every single day. For my mother's day, I requested a museum outing and a walk on a less visited part of our San Antonio Riverwalk. While none of our children were in town, we very much enjoyed our outing.

I cooked dinner, with a little help, for 35 of my kids, grandkids, and great grandkids on Mother’s Day. I felt so blessed to have them here!
My daughter is making the Jethro with a navy background and bright colors. It is beautiful.
My Mom is so gracious, we recently lost my Dad and during the 7 weeks he was in hospital before he passed my Mom ate whatever meal was put in front of her, she never complained, always said thank you, even though those were the worst days of her life
I am madly in love with a change sweater, and will immediately be going to the website to try and purchase a kit! Give me all the sparkles! No, I did not make an emotional chicken. I can’t even believe how popular this is, but you know what my Mama used to say there’s a lid for every pot. 😂 I do use interchangeable‘s and have used theKnitPicks interchangeable‘s for years.

I don’t normally comment but I just want to say I love watching you gals. I have already started the Jethro. All my squares are done and almost all connected then I burned out. You have reignited the fire! So I’m ready to grab it and finish up. I think I’m going to do elbow length sleeves for a summer cardi. My colors are light pastels with white. More summery for sure. 👋🏻
`I’m in the middle of making 4 Jethros for 4 granddaughters ages 4-18 . The younger ones are getting acrylic. Then for my older 2 they will get the wool. I imagine my Daughter and Daughter in Law will want too. I’ll come last. I’ll be crocheting in my sleep. It’s fun -and they each have different colors schemes. Now I need to make one (all blue I suppose) for the 1st grandson. I love some of your kits. I’ll be back for one or more.

My mother died about 17 yrs ago and i still miss her. I was adopted at 7 yrs and I always so appreciated her since she really was my only mother She always encouraged to made God be first in my life and to be kind to others. So thankful.
My kids were with their mothers-in-laws….phone calls and lovely flowers keep me happy. My mother has passed so I know they need to be where they are. Your thoughts on mothers being your rock are so true…..miss mine so often. My mom was a knitter and stitcher…I do both as does my daughter. The one talent passed down. Knitting is my relaxation; as a result I am never bored or without something to do. What a gift!! Watching and listening to you both is a blast and so much fun. Thanks for letting come into your lives and share this wonderful craft we do. See you next time……
I’m so glad you highlighted Luminos today! I’ve been scrolling by it on Ravelry thinking it was a collar (or dickie as the garment is sometimes called), not knowing it’s a tee. I would LOVE to knit this as a KAL! Given its different construction I think it would be a great one to make alongside more experienced knitters. Get kittin’, kitten (as I imagine Stephen West would say)! So many options with this one! ❤
I'm so glad you mentioned that the Chiaogoo case is man-made and not leather... that's always the thing that dissuades me from buying interchangeable sets!!
I made a felted tweed sweater 2 years ago yes it was a little itch around the neck but it's worn smooth and it's a daily house sweater love the yarn.

Thanks again for your podcast. Lovely knits as always. Mother lived a good life. She taught me how to knit, sew, embroidery, clean, take care of myself and to be independent. She also taught me it’s okay if you have to rip out a seam or undo some of your knitting.

LisaR: some alpaca is dehaired- it makes a huge difference. Dehaired alpaca is super soft, especially baby alpaca;) Similar example is kid mohair compared to just mohair - kid is very soft ,super kid even better- after that " mohair " the fiber becomes coarser in general .. understandably softer in both alpaca and mohair equals more expensive, but gorgeous .
I knit mittens in Felted Tweed this past winter without a lining and it does not feel itchy.
Alpaca can definitely be itchy and I'm not overly sensitive. I avoid all yarns with that yarn in it, plus it stretches a lot.
Hi Pam. How about doing your sleeves two at a time but on two separate needles? Knit five rows on one then five on the other. No second sleeve syndrome. Diane from Boston

Thank you for being sensitive about Mother’s Day. My mom died in 2016. My ex’s daughter, whom I consider my stepdaughter as I helped raise her from age 8 through college, has never recognized me as her stepmother. I am alone and have almost no contact with my family and I never had children. Mother’s Day is very difficult and every year I say I should go out of the country because wherever I go people wish me a happy Mother’s Day and that is painful. And despite my well meaning friends who say I am a dog mom, that is really not the same.
