    Amazing stretches all of them. Thread the needle stretched my lat in a very unusual way - i felt it bulge and tense as though it's about to spasm, but i eased myself into it like you said and felt it relax and release and stretch. Felt amazing.
    First time i managed to lower myself into a proper flat footed squat since a long time.
    But i cannot for the life of me perform the seated straddle. I can barely get my legs straight. But once they are straight, i physically cannot bend forward. I'm tensing up just to maintain a forward posture. I feel like i need someone to push me forward.
    I modified it by sitting myself on a rolled up towel which helped. I felt my hamstrings relax in a cogwheel fashion until they were straight.
    Then thanks to the towel, i was tilted very slightly forward and i managed to lean forward. My elbows are still literally a foot off the ground, but i felt the stretch in my hamstrings, lower back, and even hip flexors. I held the pose for almost 5 minutes.
    Afterwards, i lay down flat on my back on the floor and felt immense relief. It felt like ive been doing heavy duty manual labour all day and finally lay down to rest.
    I can't believe 20 minutes of stretching did this to me.
    Cant wait to see progress in the coming weeks.
    Again, thank you so much for these videos

    These routines are amazing! One of my teammates recommended it and so happy he did. I’ve always had trouble committing to stretching, and found yoga a bit too intense, but this is the perfect balance for me! Stretching but fully accessible to anyone!

    Been following you on insta and from the old SuperTraining for a while and have always been a fan. I always wanted to check these videos out but due to other priorities and excuses I often skipped out. Well today I finally stretched out to this video and man it was so nice, relaxing, and I feel really good right now. As a bonus, I've been feeling super anxious/sometimes depressed lately and just something about the the movements, the music, and your encouragement really made me feel better. Thank you for posting these, I will definitely be incorporating them into my routine and sharing them with my friends.

Question: should I do a video routine a day and just repeat or should I stick to one routine for a period of time and then move on to the next?? I wanna be better for my whole body so I really want to dive into this!

    Any advice for beginners with tight hips? My upper stretches are easy and pain free where most lower/hip centred exercises cause cramping and are very hard to get into properly. It's an issue thats effected my squat since I began lifting and becoming a pain 😂 any help appreciated, cheers for a great series of videos!

      They were made so that you can just go to the next video. The only videos that are a bit more challenging are the challenge routines which you can do once a week. They’re longer (30minutes +)

    I am so tight I can not get into the seated straddle position in the first place :D
    I am really enjoying this content however man this is amazing!
    Edit: Well after adding FOUR plates to sit on I could finally do the straddle and actually feel a stretch. Do you think it would be a good way of progression to master each plate and then just take one plate off/repeat until you can do it sitting on the floor?

  • @zenvilla9999

    I don’t know if you will see this comment but I just wanted to say, this is great, I’ve been looking for a way to stretch before lifting weights and someone who said he knew you, Davonte, pointed me towards this channel for stretching to improve my mobility and your video has definitely helped.
    But, and it might just be me, but, I think if you would explain how to do the stretch a little more clearly along with where you should feel it because honestly I was a little bit confused with how to do some of the stretches.
    Keep up the good work!

    • @NsimaInyang
      @NsimaInyang  5 років тому

      Haha, thanks for the critique. I’ll try to be more clear in explanations. Need to try to do it but also not talk too much haha, I want you guys to concentrate on the sensation and breathing rather than my voice! I’ll keep what you said in mind for the next video!

      Thank you so much for replying! If you don’t mind I have one last question, I’m relatively new to weight lifting and I was wondering when is the best time to stretch and when is it not a good idea, such as before working out, after working out, or they day after etc.

    Man I just started bjj this year, I’m about a month in and after years of powerlifting and just a very static lifestyle I cant even get into the first position. Having my legs open I can even sit upright, if I don’t have my hands holding me up from behind my body can’t stay upright like that.
    Gonna be a loooooong road till I’m more mobile in my hips and hams

    Love it, looking to get more flexible and finally start doing some bjj alongside my powerlifting thanks to you. Side note - is a degree of lower back pain normal after a routine like this or am i rounding my back too much?

    • @NsimaInyang
      @NsimaInyang  5 років тому +1

      Acute discomfort is normal directly after the routine, but that’s why I mention that you should relax for 3-5 minutes and allow the muscles and your body to get back to normal.
      Also, make sure not to pull yourself into the position too much, let yourself fall into it. That’ll assure that there’s no over-stretching going on.
