28 minute quick guide 😂
I am interested in learning urban sketching and stumbled across your channel. I’m so impressed by your content and instruction. Your very pleasant voice is an added bonus. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
The longer the guide the better! I love learning everything about art
And when your “disposable” Micron/Pitts tech pens go dry, you can just pull the nib out and refill them with your waterproof carbon/India Inks and they’ll keep on going :)
I didn't know the Arches was expensive, I got my first A5 300grm coldpress Arches for like 10 US dollars (8 European euros or so). Maybe it's just me living in the Netherlands :'D
Watching in 2022 😍
Another great video, thanks! However, as I am never one to refrain from critical commentary, I would love it if you were able to describe how you set up & work when you are doing Urban sketching. I am in New York, and it seems like space is a questionable Prospect for most of my Urban sketching, so I've taken to using water brushes which are frankly very unsatisfying in terms of the quality achievable with them. I see your sketching walk videos and I see some of your compatriots with what looks like an entire artist studio spread out on their laps, where I'm just trying to juggle a small thumb-ring palette, a moderately- sized Sketchbook and a water-brush! I'd love to see your insight into space organization on one's lap, whether anyone uses a lap desk or not, two handed art supply manipulation (kind of like a lesson in brain surgery, y'know?), where the paper towels or rags go when you're done with them, whether or not you're carrying a suitcase size carrier for all this stuff, that sort of thing. Some of us are deep into this not just beginners, and I would love to get some insight from you and maybe some of your co-urban- sketch colleagues about how they "juggle." Thanks!
Excellent. Thank you! Please consider creating a beginner's series of videos. I think it would be a very encouraging initiative so beginners would be able to understand how to better start. I also enjoy the way you demonstrate the steps, its clarity and pace.
It’s great to see you showing Holbein watercolors, which in my experience are of the highest quality. For instance, the color “viridian” is such a great mixer for greens, and the Holbein brand does not break up like other brands. I love the “leaf green” color, which captures beautifully leaves as they are first unfurling.
Hello am a new fun of yours, sorry for having find only now your interesting tutorials, just wanted to ask you a q: do you think I can buy all these pens on-line ? Thanks 4 your kind attention..
Great video. It is amazing how quickly a nice picture can be created. Thank you.
TFS, Teoh! Occasionally I do a quick paint box sketch to swatch my paint colors. It does create some additional interest to my swatch charts! Great pens and inks type info also. 👍🏾🍁
I knew it all already, but watched the whole video anyway. Somehow you present information in a way that doesn't make feel like I waste my time.
Teoh you’re so cool! You motivate me to jump right in to making art just by sharing your process. I really don’t like overthinking creativity. Thank you for pushing us all forward man.
So much helpful information. Wish I had see this 18 months ago when I started painting with water colour, it would have saved me a lot of time and materials 🙂 Thank you Teoh, for your excellent tutorials
I loved it! Thank you very much for this video. I've been feeling burnout and I decided to start experimenting with watercolors. This helps very much! Thank you once again.
I really enjoyed this video. I may not be brand new to watercolour and yet it was great for remembering and seeing pen and watercolour combos
Very helpful video! Makes me want to pull out my little watercolor paints and doodle again.. two thumbs up, Teoh!
I really can’t stress enough the importance of testing pens for watercolor because there are some pens that say waterproof but sometimes blot or spread when water is applied, sometimes it’s the paper’s quality,so it really is important to test things and watch reviews.btw thanks for featuring holbein watercolors,it’s one of my favorite brands to use.
I have watched your videos for years and everyone is a pleasure to watch. Thank you
