hey man, super weird question but could you talk about how and why you hold your pen this way ? I can not for the life of me get that grip down. I always hold the pen so close to the nib.
@@emailsucks28 I don't understand why you can't hold your pen anywhere you wish. Grip the pen as you usually would but not firmly. Then with your left hand pull the tip of the pen forward until your right fingers are where you'd like them to be on the pen barrel. Now you'll have your own style of grip further back along the pen and more of the nib exposed like the video. You don't need his grip, I don't think the grip is that important, it's controlling the line length and width from the middle of the pen instead of the nib. Now it's just a matter of practice until the hand gets used to the new position.
Thank you for not speeding up your process. This allowed me to follow along and learn the technique. I found knowing when to stop quite difficult…very easy to keep going with more and more details. Beautiful art, thanks again.
You bring up such a potent point for me. When to stop... I had a middle school art teacher who told me to stop before I thought it was done while working on a wire sculpture one day. "you've communicated your idea... now stop before over-complicating it. you can always come back later."
Jaw dropping amazing. I just love the effect you create with simple basic lines. And thank you for teaching me that straight lines are not always necessary.
Love both the art and the music. Well done. You capture a very pleasant gestalt. I’d watch more of this if the video were sped up, but the music remained the same speed.
@@InkRebellion As soon as I heard the first seconds of the music, the hairs on my arms stood up! Beautiful music together with gorgeous artwork! Love it!

Did this type thing when I was a kid (1950's) with India ink and fine point dip pins!
I did it too when i was young, but i drew pirate ships and draw the little pirates invading other ships :p
Interesting.
Do you use any reference images or do you do this completely free? I love the style :)
Yes sometimes, not so much in this, I build shapes then imagine the textures on those shapes.
How about the score? Tracks? Great stuff
