This channel is like the polar opposite of I Hate Everything.
I don't know about that actually. I feel like I Hate Everything actually speaks from a place of empathy & passion more often than not, where it feels like he doesn't want to just dunk on something but actively wishes it was better.
I guess I'm probably more of an antithesis of channels like MauLer or CinemaSins
Loverboy Media that's true. That's why I love I Hate Everything. Despite his name, he's a reasonable guy. I mainly meant the fact that most of his videos are titled I hate this and yours are titled why I love this. And god knows we need more channels to contrast people like MauLer and Cinemasins.
I feel Altair's arc in AC1 is kinda underappreciated... At the start of the game he's well skilled but arrogant and his overconfidence ends up ruining an important mission as well leading to the death of both brotherhood members and innocent people. He's stripped of his rank&status and has to earn it back, but throughout the game he learns to value and properly embody the tenets of the creed and becomes a true leader.
Another thing I think AC1 and AC3 did pretty well was the villains. Most were trying to do good things but they were using evil means to accomplish them. It's especially heartbreaking in 3 because Connor does so much to help the Patriots and yet Washington screws him over in the end.

I think with Altair, it moreso comes down to just how dry the voice acting is. He's amazing in Revelations, but he sounds so bored for all of AC1. It's definitely an interesting story with an effective arc, but it's still comparatively hard to relate to compared to Ezio, Connor or Edward.
Great video. I love AC2, it will probably always be the best AC game to me. This is just one of those games I can play over and over again as I've probably beaten it 15 times. Also that Ezio's family theme is one of the best things I've ever heard.
I really don't get how some people don't love the present day stuff. It's like 40% of the greatness of the world and story. They tossed it recently, and it's a damn shame, but it was great, the Isu stuff is amazing, the Abstergo stuff, Desmond, Shaun, Rebecca, Lucy, who doesn't love them?

Also, yeah, AC3 is fantastic too. And Black flag. And Odyssey. Yeah, Odyssey. It's one of the best in the series imho. Unity could have one of the series best too, but too many chests, a horrible technical lauch and a templar agent harrassing you every twelve steps is annoying.
And the soundtrack, not just in AC2, is the best aspect of the entire series. The best OSTs being 2, Revelations (best main theme I've EVER heard), 3 and Unity.
Oh boy, so many "and"/"also". I can't contain my love for this series. Can't wait to play the remaster!
plus, without that shell story, why bother with the whole idea of the animus/ancestral memories at all? getting rid of the modern day story would make it not assassin's creed and just be a historical action rpg
I became less interested in the real world stuff when Desmond died which was sad because none of the other real world characters that replaced him are not nearly as charismatic or interesting.
The scenes starring you make me look forward to your career as a feature-film director.
When you have to sneak into the Vatican and kill the pope is by far the most intense, nerve racking mission in AC history! I also love Brotherhood and really really love Revelations and the way Desmonds story ended was insane and so emotional!

Oh man, I loved watching Breaking Banter and JUST found out you have this channel (I rarely watch UA-cam, really). Also today I JUST thought what great games AC and AC II were. So this video is a massive hit for me, on every level of reality!
AC II is super cool; especially I like entrance sequence and the music by Jesper Kyd, it's so good I even learnt how to play it on my piano. In terms of story structure, pacing and execution AC II is much much better than AC (but I love the first one too). I finished Ezio's trilogy and, sadly, never ever played other games (I guess my graphics card is not too good for those); I think Ezio's trilogy and Tommy Angelo's story from Mafia might be perfect examples how to build the story and the character in computer games, how to use historical settting cleverly and how to approach vast possibilities of a story taking place in the past.

AC3 was my entry into the franchise so I never got the chance to play Ezios games. This video definitely helped me better understand the love for Ezio amongst the fans! So happy I found such a positive channel!!

Please talk about assassin’s creed iii and how it is grossly underrated.
I loved Assassin's Creed 3, am looking forward to downloading the remaster as soon as i get home. I'm a huge Revolutionary War buff so the setting is my favorite of the series, it introduced the best naval warfare system in any open world game and i really liked the base-building aspect of it (although i remember the pacing of the upgrades was off, you go a long time without being able to upgrade) and Haytham was by far the best villain of the first games. I think the biggest issues are two-fold, a lot of people didn't like the definitive end of Desmond's story (i did, i thought it was fitting, although it has led to the modern day story taking a hardcore backseat), and the fact that Connor was and is pretty much the most boring main character of the series in terms of personality. especially after 3 straight games of the highly charismatic Ezio
I'm definitely down for doing a video on AC3 because as I was making this video, I felt like I was slowly realising that 3 might actually be my favourite. It has the best story in the franchise for sure, and everything about it's characters and themes are so bold and uncompromising. Plus it's just so much fun to play & explore.

I stopped playing around unity and syndicate but I have fond memories of black flag, rouge, and AC2. I think I got pretty tired of the genre by then but I think I should replay II and III at some point. I did the last half of III over the course of one all nighter and honestly forgot what a lot of it was about.

It is the perfect game. And if you take Ezio's story beyond AC2, what's remarkable to me is not only the fact that it dealt with the maturation of a character, but how, at the end of all things, Ezio learned to accept that he wasn't meant to be remarkable at all. Where he started as your typical Renaissance man, convinced of his own greatness and flawed with hubris, he died in absolute humility.

@@Seasonal-Shadow_4674 If you mean the fisticuffs with the Pope, yeah, it was a bit silly but it was a necessity. History-wise, Ezio couldn't have killed him. If you mean the stuff with Those Who Came Before, I absolutely loved it. I remember actually saying WTF out loud even before Desmond did. It was such a memorable gaming experience for me, with the reprise of Ezio's Family as the credits rolled.

Yeah I definitely think the ending isn't handled in the most satisfying way (why is Desmond vs Vidic played with the credits over the top?), but I think the arc for this game is pretty much flawless
Loverboy Media I meant I personally didn’t like when Ezio killed everyone up to the point but when he fought the “final boss”, he refused to kill him, that felt really anticlimactic and unearned for me personally imho(but then again, it’s been years since I’ve played the game)

Despite it's saturation over the years, this is still among my favorite series of all times, probably favoritist (it's a word, shut up) considering i've played them all but Rogue at least once. I was always a history buff so I was intrigued by the idea from the start. I just remember getting the first one and the first time you crest the hill and arrive at Damascus, that's right up there with the first time you get to the Citadel as awe inspiring moments that really captured what video games could do.
PS Bring back berserk darts, i used to love sitting back and letting the brutes clear out areas for me
Same here, man. The only ones I didn't play at least three times are Liberation, 'cause I didn't really like it, and Origins and Odyssey, because... well it's been only a year. I'll 100% go back to both of them, they're amazing (I'm not a fan of Origins's story, and I'm SO FUCKING MAD about how they dumped Juno's storyline and never talked about it again). It's definitely my favorite game series ever. Two years ago I looked up on Ubi Club and found out I spent 1600+ hours on the series, not including AC1 which isn't on Uplay. So add to that 3 or 4 times 10-15 hours, the 84h of Origins, and 191h of Odyssey. Best investment I've ever made
If this video ends up doing OK in the end I'll definitely look at doing episodes on AC3 & Black Flag. Both are in my all time top 20
@@andiran23 i probably won't do origins again, didn't really get too into the main story and the map is just too daunting. I really really liked Odyssey though, it's probably in my top 3 for the series. Although whoever made the decision to allow the player the ability to complete Between Two Worlds before chapter 9 should be fired, getting that cutscene early completely negates the last 2 chapters and basically ruins the modern day continuity. that being said, i did pick up the season pass for Odyssey because i like Kassandra so much and it comes with the remaster for 3, which i can't wait to start downloading in an hour

2009 sure its excellent compared to ac1 but now you can see they just "upgraded" everything. they didnt go for excellence
