Jim play solar guitar, ola play jim guitar...
My day is perfect
Jim played a Solar guitar ? When ?
@@Yats6417 On his ig. He bought a white one
@@TheTillhammer Sick !!!! [(sic)]
@@TheTillhammer I thought it was silver? 🤔
@@TheTillhammer *Silver. 🤘🏼
I really want a Jim Root Jazzmaster.
Do it!
Go for it 👍
Haha wonderful, Ryan! 😃
it is my one of favorite guitars i found a used one a couple years ago and never looked back.
Omg me too
It’s funny because Jim recently bought a Solar.
Really? Maybe Ola send him free lol
@@marcotaproot nah he bought his own
@@batzz3177 where u see it? Maybe they just gift each other
@@marcotaproot they actually both bought each other’s signature guitar. What’s weird is that it was not planned, just kind of happened
@@87BruceH 90 percent sure though Ola and him would get along. Jim seems like a kind and neat dude. He want to make one of his lines in Mexico so kids could buy a good guitar for a reasonable price and not have to play crap to start with. Gained a lot more respect after that. Long live the knot!🤘
Damn, that Psychosocial intro tone was spot on
Was that at 0:23 - seconds ? That was Bad ass either way !
i honestly think it's even better than on the actual song, the low end is much tighter.
@@bcz_akos sorry but what's low end means?
@@alessandro9740 the bass sound sounds tighter meaning it doesn’t sound muddy or slurred up it’s a more clear sound.
@@alexduffalo4353 how about high end?
is it means its too muddy?
I remember wayyyyy back when Ola was demoing the MTM2; took 10 years to get to Jim's guitar
Im thinking of getting the jazzmaster so this is perfect timing
you realy should man both versions are really amazing guitars i regret selling mine
I have one, best guitar I've owned.
I have the white one and it’s for sure my favorite and the one I always end picking up when playing.
I owned the Jim Root tele for a hot minute. Sent it back to Sweetwater because of a blemish in the ebony board that I just couldn't get over, HOWEVER, that guitar played like a dream and sounded killer! Had it in Drop C with heavy top slinky bottoms and was amazing. I ended getting a Charvel so cal style 2 in the long run, but I'll probably get another JR tele in the near future.
@@tenispirata the white one is so awesome looking. I love my flat black but the white is on my bucket list to own
Got mine in 2010 when it released for 8100kr (around 1000$) and still have it. One of the best guitars i have played!
2:47 SICK GROWL OLA! You should do more vocal stuff!!
I have one of the Jazzmasters and love it! All of his guitars seriously rip. I’m hoping that Fender comes out with the sandblasted one so I can complete my collection!
Whoa, that's some tone. When you started playing I legit thought it was the actual song I was listening too!
Nothing is as comfortable than playing a Strat, unfortunately not all of them sound good for metal. This one needs to be a permanent in the Fender line.
Agreed man. I’d definitely grab it if I ever saw it in my local guitar store
Agreed, I'm using a HSS which is pretty great but it would be great to have more choice.
Single-coils can sound thick as hell when going into a loud, non-M/V amp.
The problem is sometimes a bridge single-coil doesn't sound so awesome when going through a bunch of little 12AX7's cascaded into one another.
@@shp9477-q1m Strats are great, pickguard swap and you can stick anything in them. I put two humbucker EMG's in my wife's strat that had three single coils before.
From my experience with Strats, they all may look the same but they each sound different. My neighbor collects them. He has the Root model and it’s my favorite.
Just started playing again after 30 years. Had to stop because my hands and wrist would lock up. Well 30 years later it took covid and my heart stopping to figure out I have psoriatic arthritis had to get a pacemaker and put on meds. But now im way better and able to play gain. Been saving up for a Solar Ola is a legend
I’d love to see Ola testing out stereotypical 80s gear like Crate’s Blue Voodoo or something similar and trying to get a good modern sound out of it.
This is an amazing idea
I have the Jackson Mick Thomson and I love it🤟
Everything about that guitar is Badass!
Honestly speaking, can't say that I liked the tone of the rig, but overall Guitar looks sooo beautiful that i'd love to buy one. Ultimate Metal fender stratocaster!!!! What I would be interested in really is actually having same setup but switching emg 81 with emg 57, than blackouts. Thank you Ola for a review.
One of my favorite guitarists' guitar's demo on my birthday, thank you Ola!
Happy Birthday 🤘🎶🍻
@@princessrose1698 Thank you very much!
HaPpY BiRtHdAy MeHmEt :)
Happy birthday mate 😊 have a good one
Happy birthday brochacho!!!
almost bought the Jim Root strat man i liked it but i bought a JPX instead... still rave about that guitar..
Ola, everything about this Rig suits your style. Especially that guitar
I’ve never been much of a Fender Strat guy, but I’d buy that one!
Imagine him working on the slipknot new album and jus starts adding random swedish death metal riffs
You do know Slipknot's single biggest influence is death metal, right?
@@kampfkustomer2343 There’s a big fuckin’ difference between Death Metal and Swedish Death Metal.
@@ricksterdrummer2170 name them lol
Oh yeah - no crossover between those scenes at all, entirely exclusive 🙄
@@kampfkustomer2343 the HM-2 being the only pedal you're allowed to use haha
Death metal? Slipknot? IoI 🤦🏼♀️
I had one in white. I really miss it. I don't know they stopped offering that color. Yes, the case was incredible.
I might be the only one but, Jim Root Tele is the one to die for ngl.
My dream guitar.
The phsycosocial in the beginning was sick Ola! Love that song
That case looks like something Dracula would sleep in.
@clownwithagun you got it
I own the white Telecaster and it also came in the same case. Its funny to see your reaction, I had the exact same feeling. Its a pretty basic instrument, just plug in and play but that simplicity makes it awesome and they handle awesome!
Pretty nice guitar, considering to buy one as I have no Fenders at all, incredible Mesa stack too, super decent tone, tack for video...
The variety of styles in the riffs are great. Gives you an idea
Love that guitar and Jim's taste in guitars and amps!!!
Love it. They moved the volume knob, the only thing that stopped me getting a strat...!
Sometimes I forget how wicked badass Ola is when he actually plays. .
I absolutely love my Deadweald Audio Duality DX Overdrive Pedal!!! So glad this ones in the hands of Metal Master Ola Englund! 🤘🔥🤘
Lovely guitar. Would love to play one some day
I own both the jazzmaster and the stratocaster, those are my absolute favourite guitars
I have the Tele version. It’s been one of my lifetime favorite guitars. Thanks for this Ola, no how bout the YJM Strat.
This video started kicking the door, awesome guitar sound!
Hey Ola! I was thinking you should try the 24 volt mod for EMG guitars. It's a battery that is the size of a single 9 volt battery but it has 2 and half times the voltage. It really helps make the pickups sound less compressed and for people who don't like EMGs makes them more likeable. For about $25 it's a great mod that doesn't break the bank.
I own all the Jim Root models except the newest Mexico Jazzmaster V4. The Strat is by far the most comfy body of em all. His signature models really worth it guys. You won't regret it.
I love mine... such a sick looking and playing guitar! and it will look even more awesome as it ages!
Man what a beast of a guitar, ive never heard a strat that thick and chunky!
Filing the nut for a bigger string was a hard lesson I learned when the corner of the nut on my guitar broke off when trying to use Zakk Wylde custom strings. That sucked.
We have all done that lol
Dude, omg I want that guitar so damn bad!!
jim and dave mustaine got me playing guitar
Kirk Hammett made want to start play, but Synyster Gates and Dave Mustaine motivate me to keep playing it!
Ive never heard someone say jim inspired them to play, thats awesome. Hes definitely underrated
Mick Thomson, hetfield, Kirk, got me into guitar playing.
@@veenoir1991 he's one of my big inspirations! Made me fall in love with teles!
Hammett is always a big part of many players, also for me; Marten Hagstrom, Fredrik Thordendal, Vanhalen, John Mayer, Ernie Isley, Jimi Hendrix..
Ola played a guitar I actually own! LOL But for real, this axe kicks ass. I started with a Squire Strat, worked my way to a MIM HSS Strat, and finally got this one last year. All I ever wanted was some EMGs on a Strat and this guitar far exceeded my exceptions. Definitely feels smoothers and more quality parts than my MIM Strat.
Keep up with the awesome videos!
that tone is on point . made we play some slipknot riffs
He should’ve tuned it drop B instead, he’s playing a lot of riffs that are in drop b in drop a so it sounds off. Still sounds kick ass though.
I just put a black pearl pickgaurd on my jim root tele! I friggn love it! The case is super dope too...
2:20 and he said like: yeah you know
You know, that’s just Jim haha
I love Jim and I love Ola. Couldn't have asked for a better video.
2:48 that belch sounded like Seth Rogans laugh lmao
😭😭😭
I love the look of that Strat. I have the white Jim Root Telecaster and like it alot. Only guitar I prefer over it is my Japanese ESP E-II but that's on another level of build and sound quality.
I actually prefer the tele, I just like teles
Hello Ola, when you changed to a thicker gauge string, did you have to make any adjustments on the neck?
Cool tone man ! This is a very mean strat !
I just bought a Squire JazzMaster with active pickups! So awsome. Loved this Video ola
isn't Jim Root just the coolest man on earth!
fuck yes
yes
Yes
Been waiting to see this guitar demo, looks so nice! Stealth Fender Strat!
That's awesome ! Jim Root is one of my guitar hero and I'm often dreaming of having one of his guitars. Btw what is the riff played at 5:02 ? It sounds killer !
Not sure, it might be something from The Haunted which he plays guitar in
it's Devil in White from Feared
@@matheusneves7364thanks man ! Killer song
@@matheusneves7364 Thank you!
so I got one, and by far the best thing about it was ---- the smell!
the case smells beautiful!!
Whens the JP2-C review coming?!
I prefer a wound 3rd. I always go for D'Addarrio EJ21 for Dropped C/C#standard and lower tunings, and then go for EXL110W for standard and Dropped D. On a side note, I would love an affordable H-S-H fixed bridge Strat, mainly so I can use it as a partscaster, and immediately go and replace the pickups with a set that includes a quarter pounder style mid pickup and a drop-in P-90 in the neck, and active wiring. Probably from GFS.
I've always loved Fender. Their cases are usually really good, from my experience at least.
Edit: I am not a Slipknot fan at all, but this guitar looks and sounds fantastic. Great video Ola!!
I can imagine Bogners and Friedmans aren’t the easiest amps in the world to dial in with actives like the 81. Jim’s setup with a Rockerverb and BE-100 sounds amazing just through the ISO box he’s running though.
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TRY THE YNGWIE MALMSTEEN FENDER STRATOCASTER WITH YJM FURY PICKUPS AND SCALLOPED FRETBOARD
Seriously
@@unleashthefury111 what?
@@fredriklkken8415 I also wish he would try a YJM guitar
@@unleashthefury111 it would be really cool for him to check out that guitar because he said the single coil tone in one of his will it chug videos was interesting
@@fredriklkken8415 arent the Fury pickups stacked? Im pretty sure they will chug
0:04 Defender Jim Roots Strat!!! Wow
You don't need friends when you have a Slipknot playlist
But you'll probably end up making some if you play it loud enough.
I haven’t been here in over a year... Ola in 4K and playing Jimbo’a strat, fantastic.
whats the song that he plays at 5:09 ish

Glad I got mine right before New Years fender jacked all the prices up on these bad boys in the US
Hola ola
I love it !!! i want it !!! it's a incredible strat for use ! thanks for the video Ola !
So we not gonna mention the fact that Jim was playing a Solar on his Instagram story?
nope, most everyone is mentioning that lol
No
@@seansalo5117 Oh, didn’t notice. I was here pretty early tho so I haven’t checked the comments in awhile so my bad
i think this is one of the best sounding guitar ive ever heard
Coffee with Vogg from decapitated.
I've played that strat - it's a *total* beast!
That tone, so tasty 🤤
My one of my dream guitars
If doesn't matter if you prefer Black, trash, doom, heavy or death, we all love SLIPKNOT
Love it . I just lost my home in q fire on the 15 th. And with it it I lost both of my guitars.. I'm so sad.
Its so weird hearing that sound come from a strat for me.
What? It doesn't matter if it's a Fender Strat, a Solar, an LP or an RG. If you fill it with the right hardware and has a certain player play it, It doesn't matter what brand or name it has. It's gonna sound like that player playing his/her music. All the Solars, Charvels, Jacksons, Ibanez' and so on are Super-Strats, so they evolved from a Strat..... You need to listen to more music and get some knowledge about guitars if you're that stigmatic about what specific guitars can and cannot do. Jesus Christ.
Check out Obituary
@@TheKZOShow What he meant is that he's used to strats with single coils as it's the most common setup.
Don't be too harsh on him bro.
Everyone's gotta start somewhere.😊
@@TheKZOShow you've gone off on one here, I think you need to reign it in a bit. Certain guitars are known for their characteristics. If someone says they have a strat, the majority will think of 3 single coils, maple neck and an ash/alder body. This couldn't be more different than that, that is what OP is getting at. In fact, it's such a departure, it's surprising it bears the stratocaster name, imo. I agree with OP on that, and I own one of these.
Get some more sleep, or something to eat, you need to chill out.
It's weird hearing that sound at 1:48
Spectacular looking guitar, damn !
That guitar is absolutely great. Also, i love the Austrian audio oc 18
Emg81 and Emg60, same pickups of Mtm1 first gen., stunning!
I'm sure this video was recorded last week. But yeah Jim playing Solar the other day is good timing. Sounded great.
I had for a few years the signature Telecaster flat white a very good guitar, I think it looks like very good fluidity of the neck good classical components of fender I think it is a good guitar
I'm not always a fan of matte black, but it looks great here. The black tuning keys do it alot of justice.
Also? It definitely chugs😎
I know as a metalhead not liking matte black may be some kind of sacrilege
Great video as always. Classik guitar with a good punch, i woud love so get one
I want to build a Strat similar to this but with Devin Townsend Fishman pickups and a Wilkinson tremolo. I wouldn't get rid of the tone knobs obviously, you need them for the push pull on the pickups to go from the three voices.
Awesome sound again. Ola you do sound great with EMGs 😊
Where is the riff at 5:00 from? I’ve heard Ola play it before in other videos and it’s awesome 😎
Dude you’re a freaking awesome guitarist
2:21 Ola imitating Jim with the “y’know” hahaha
Absolutely love the green E model Solar behind you! It will be mine, oh yes
Nice video ! Would be could to have an In The Room video with the Engl Savage ! And maybe use one of your Solar models with active pick ups for an in the room? Could be interesting !
Not used to see a fender being played so heavy but its great
Just an absolutely beautiful guitar, thanks for the review!
Just awsome🤟 You mentioned filing the nut for thicker strings, how do YOU do it? Video?
That is a awesome looking strat though I want one! Sounds so good too
Probably the only Fender I'd like to own!
I was a fan at first, but kinda dig it now. No fret markers , ebony and the 70’s headstock.
Brah, that guitar and amp sounds like heaven! 🤘
