You can tell how passionate Jim is about guitars; the way he looks at them before closing the case, like a father closing the bedroom door saying goodnight to his children.

That's why if I were planning a break in while Jim was out of town I would plan a bigger heist than 1 guitar. I'm going in with a friend so we'd be able to get multiple.
***** So you remember the store a lot like Best Buy called Circuit City that closed awhile back? Jim is a huge car collector and before that chain of stores closed he came down to where I live (St. Louis, MO) to look at the deals that they were having on car speakers, radios, etc, and I noticed him. I was so damn nervous lol I go uhm... are you Jim Root? He puts his finger over his mouth and was like shhh I am but don't tell anyone. Even if he had said that it wasn't him his tattoos were a dead give away! I found the Stone Sour Come Whatever May album, bought it, and he signed it for me. Too bad that it was stolen though from an ex friend. That's why they are a ex friend now...
he is an amazing musician but i have so much more respect for him for loving the instruments as much as he does and that dudes picture with the guitar is awesome... love it !
I like Jim, I think he has created a good new look for fender. They needed to step in that direction for a while and this was the right man for the job.
I agree, awesome guitars, not a huge fan of single coils myself and I personally hate Strats. But, since Jim brought out his signature models and such Fender released their Black Top range, which are basically rock and metal guitars but in Fender packages. Just bought an american standard telecaster that has a hardtail and twin humbuckers, very cool guitar!
Alex Chapman I agree to a huge extent. He's given Fender a more modern touch, especially at the time when Fender was known for making guitars for more traditional guitarists, like from the 60s. Jim Root (along with some other guys, like Chris Shiflett and Joe Trohman) have kids made Fender a bit more modern.
It's like a Flathead Showmaster, looks killer. Wish Fender would make production models more that aren't available only through custom shop. The new Squier Contemporaries look promising, though, so we got something, I guess.
that story about the photo he got with that 50's Gibson ES is so awesome. the fact that he keeps that value to it makes him an even more awesome guitarist in my opinion
I have no idea of guitars, have no clue what he's talking about with all those details, but his passion for these instruments and the sheer joy she has talking about them makes me come back to watch it again
I like to play this drinking game where I just watch a bunch of Jim Root videos and every time he says "you know" or "you know what I mean" I take a shot
I love the gear heads. Jim seems like a cool guy and I feel we would get along.. Because I too wish I had the Han Solo Millinium Falcon still in the box..
Good Daffy episode.....Duck!....You have desecrated the spirit of the lamp! Prepare to face the consequence ! Looks like Jim, you and a few others practiced guitar whilst watching Looney Tunes. 🤣
I wish I was rich enough to say "Oh I forgot about this guitar!" 😂
+Abraham Owen Or to buy a custom shop Gibson and not open the box...
+Abraham Owen Me too, but I bought his signature lunch box amp and love it lol. What a great little amp.
hahaha!
haha I'm far from rich, but i've said it a few times. Usually means it's time to sell some stuff.
Right the f on,dude.

Jim's comic book nerd impression gets me everytime lol
+TheMagicalManatee He actually is pretty nerdy, have you seen his Storm Trooper tattoo?
It was a cover-up actually, for his Stone Sour tattoo that he had regretted once he got kicked out of the band.
where did you get that from, he wasnt kicked out he left. Hes still in slipknot lol just not in SS

Imagine somebody breaks in while he's on tour and tries to steal one of the guitars get home and it's broken

I hung out with Jim last year in L.A. He's a super cool guy. I've met a lot of rockstars and he was by far the nicest.
That fender 24 fret with the dinky body is the goods. I wish I owned that one.
It's like a Flathead Showmaster, looks killer.

I thouched his beard once, and one sprouted on my face 2 nights later. Ive tried to shave it off a thousand times, but it just returns when I wake up
