What did your First GPU Mining Rig Look Like for Parts? Any Shoe Racks? Milk Crate? or Hanging GPU Setups? If you haven't built your first GPU Mining Rig yet, what are your plans?
First official rig was a messy custom aluminum frame with wrong measurements 😂. Shoe rack, hanging gpus but no milk crate for me :)) I’m lactose intolerant 😂
I have the same style frame which came from Jersey USA to me here in the UK England, have it sat in a small grow tent with 140mm fan as an intake through a multi mesh filter, have 3 120mm fans cooling the 3 cards I have on the frame with a high powered 120mm fan pushing the hot air to the vent where two extractors are pulling the air out. Cards are 2060 12Gb and will add a forth to finish this rig as have a 1660 in the case above also mining plus allows me to still watching video's at not much of a loss in hash rate.
All of the above (shoe rack, milk crate and wire rack w/ hangers). I'm all about the shoestring budget, at the very least, until I breakeven. "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid."
I have build this rig. Using the same GPU, a GIGABYTE B550 DS3H Super mobo, 16GB memory, AMD Ryzen 5 4500 CPU, 750W BQ Bronze power supply. Works like a charm. And it is very very silent. I can hardly hear the fans.

That's with NH QuickMiner (latest revision) using the latest Nvidia Game Ready drivers available...it's my kid's gaming PC when he's not earning Bitcoin.

@@TheRadiastral Thanks for the reply. I've got Samsung memory. I tried 780 Mhz core, anyway, but it didn't seem to change my power or hashrate much at all. Your settings get 30.4 MH @ 61W (0.497 MH/J). Almost within margin of error.

Hi any discords I can join for help because I want to start mining but I don't understand how it works without a PC connected I was going to buy a gaming PC and a rig but I don't know what to do should I buy a gaming PC or do I use my laptop and buy a screen like that???
Legend, now I get the how to use the mining calculator MH with the diff algo's, I didn't recognize any of those other (unheard of) algo names threw me I guess. some I see are h/s only too.
I had a similar problem with this exact motherboard. No video. Same setup but no video no BIOS no nothing. I am returning it to Amazon, to whatever seller then purchasing the same motherboard. If that fails, IDK what I am going to do.
So if you spent 2000 instead of 500 it's still a year and a half roi but not you have 4 times the profit after the year and a half mark. 90 cents a day 365 a year is 1314 dollars a year. So you can build two more every year and take 300 profit which will double by 1.5 every year after
@The Hobbyist Miner, Thank you for this video! As others stated you explain and show things as easy as possible which I am grateful for. This is my first time getting into mining so I have a few questions if you don't mind. 1. Can I use a MacBook? If not any recommendations? 2. Can I mine Bitcoin with this type of rig you built? 3. I dont understand the setting you went through. Can you go over what each setting does? Pro and cons for maximum profitability. 4. Can I manage my rig remotely or does the rig / laptop always need to be on 24/7. I know the rig needs to be on 24/7 but Im curious on the computer / laptop side of things. 5. If a power outage occurs, do I need to manually restart my rig or does it come back on line automatically? Thank you for your time and Im sorry for the newbie questions. MINERS, please feel free to answer my questions as it will help me understand better.

Once I get my overclock dialed in and stable in the short spare time every other day I have. I plan to do a profitability test with my old 5700xt and new 6600 core. Bought a frame that should support 7 6600s and the 5700zr if I don't get convinced to abandonvthis
Thank you guys, inspiring

@@TheHobbyistMiner thank you so much
Legend, now I get the how to use the mining calculator MH with the diff algo's, I didn't recognize any of those other (unheard of) algo names threw me I guess. some I see are h/s only too.
I had a similar problem with this exact motherboard. No video. Same setup but no video no BIOS no nothing. I am returning it to Amazon, to whatever seller then purchasing the same motherboard. If that fails, IDK what I am going to do.
How did you attach the GPU riser to the rig?
The GPU Riser attached to the GPU and it rest ontop of the frame bar.
At $0.90 profit per day it would take like a year and a half before you turn a profit on the $500 investment 🤔😏.
So if you spent 2000 instead of 500 it's still a year and a half roi but not you have 4 times the profit after the year and a half mark. 90 cents a day 365 a year is 1314 dollars a year. So you can build two more every year and take 300 profit which will double by 1.5 every year after
I got exactly the same motherboard which I bought from new back in 2014
Wow 2014 Crazy
How much can you make on a rig of this size?
$0.20 a month
oh my more than 500 days for ROI. maybe should increase the budget to 1.5k adding 3 more 1660ti, so that ROI would be shorter like a year
The heatsink/fan unit isn't square/ installed properly dude. from the 8:51 mark you can see its not sqaure on the motherboard
nice
Do u still need to apply thermal paste to the cpu?
Yes
Your friend definitely gave you that motherboard 😂😂😂 how tf did you get that, cpu, ram for that price😅
