Hey. my issue is the guy that did my paint over did it with the clear coat..it has runs..its high gloss but looks bad in its current state..Awesome video!
I used a tungsten bladed scraper for my 22yr old Vauxhall Astra. You would NOT believe how hard the crazed lacquer was. I was shocked. In my case I took the super hard lacquer right off the estate roof and bonnet leaving most of the paint....then wet and dry sanded....then Aerosol repainted and lacquered.....lot of work... Thanks for this....interesting approach and I wish I'd seen your video before......great idea. NoAxe
Thanks. My Blue, 2005 Honda Civic has the exact same problem. THIS INFORMATION IS VALUABLE. THANKS AGAIN. I will use your techniques for an inexpensive restoration.
How long does this temporary fix last to your clear coat and I have to admit you're not even halfway done yet and I can see that you're going to get great results
@@lexbrusb.1821 Can't blame a guy for trying, far as I'm concerned if the industry put a little bit better of a clear coat on their vehicles that they put out that we got to pay anywhere from 15 to $100,000 for a car or truck coming off the line put a little bit of a good clear coat on there that last few years instead of a few days wouldn't have to have guys trying to fix it like that I give a guy a for effort

Hi Donald you want to know something crazy most people think this is a wax! But it’s not its a dedicated cleaning polish because your cleaning and removing years of built up contaminants what remains is the smooth glossy surface you can do it with a machine or by hand you can clean it in sections over a period of time or getter done all in one shot anybody can do it and save a ton of money Ain’t that cool ? You can order 24/7 at our website lukatdetail.com or order direct at 505-304-8652 Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄👍🏼😎
I have watched video! after video! And I finally purchased this and used it the same day .....I was about to pay between 400 and 600 just to paint one spot on the hood of my car 🚗 and I used this stuff and it is AH-MAZINNNN! The compound does its worth but the wax hits out the park! I used the sand paper 1000 and it worked very well, but the wax hits it home.Don't waste your time get this stuff immediately. Asap.
Good Job ! The sad thing is the majority of people won't do this because it takes something called WORK !! To many people they're afraid of work or it's a cuss word to them . lol I think it's great !!!
Yup that can be and it's been done. After you polish it to a smooth and glossy state It'll get it's shine back then rub it down with alcohol to get any residue off before you apply the clear coat.
My best advice to help advance your company would be to add a sure fire way to get rid of the old ridge line clear coat. So even up close it looks good. Maybe a cutter specifically designed for old clear coat? I don’t know but best of luck to your company!

To me the object is to keep that from happening in the first place. I did an experiment on my 2002 Tacoma years ago and that was to wax it every time I wash it. Not with liquid wax or paste wax but with spray wax. The liquid or paste wax would work but it would take to long so when I have washed my truck and dried it off I apply the spray wax. I have been using Turtle wax Ice spray wax and it only takes 10 or 15 minutes to wax the whole truck. You just spray some on and wipe it right off with a big microfiber towel and just work your way around the truck. The nice thing about the Turtle wax Ice is that if you get some on the trim it wont turn hazy like regular wax. After 17 years my paint job still looks great because the wax protects it from the UV rays of the sun which is what causes paint jobs to deteriorate.

when you have a new vehicle or a used one with no paint issues wax at least once a month and this will never happen.. it's usually in your car's manual how to take care of the vehicles paint as well as interior.. some people are just LAZY and think that washing is good enough. if you live in a very hot climate I would paint protect after every wash...
Greater use of lacquers, or clear coats that are water based for "environmental" issues means more are susceptible to sun damage and especially the acids rain, road dirt & particularly bird poo desolving it leaving marks and thinning the costs down. Washing & waxing regularly helps. Remember when Sundays in the UK used to be the day your dad or granddad would spend it tinkering on the car, washing and polishing it? Two pack lacquers are tougher, but they may react with older finishes and create other problems, but if you have the time and space to do a home repair I hope it works for you!
If only I was more careful with my car. Now I'm stuck with this same issue on the hood of my car it's completely gone of the clear coat, have rock chips that has seriously taken the clear coat and paint on a panel of the car on the passenger side. Luckily even if it's a bit late I'm starting little by little to really make my car as if it was brand new.
Hi Shawn When used correctly on and oxidized clear coat that is not peeling it’ll look 👀 almost if not like new And it’s a permanent fix If the clear coat is peeling it will improve the over all look 👀
Hi Rob ,I want to call or if you can just tell me what type of towel/rag did u use to clean with the hood in step one. I’m so exited I just ordered this product 😊✨
I was thinking of getting a new paint job but that will be expensive on a 97 Chevy 1500 extra cab. So Ima give it a try when I get all that extra time. Ima need a lot of elbow grease. 😆. Nuttin but elbows

Many of us has a car till the paint is like this or worse. It's not a cover up. It's to make better than it was after all we see it every day the ugliness of that kind of paint. This is quick solution without knowledge expertise. At least he took the time to show others his wonder.
Thank you for showing people how they should do it yourself repair for people who want to make it look better without painting.... The wack jobs who complain could have just watched another video and not waisted my time with there comments great job
sand it down good few light coats of primer wet fine sand it then apply paint & clear coat wet fine sand it then give a good buff it will look like a show car belongs to hollywood.not wasting time to hand buffing it.i do it better.
This will last because it's not temporally masking a problem but rather it's fixing it by simply cleaning the clear or paint job back to a smooth and glossy clean state. Clear coats peel primarily because they get really dirty, You'd be amazed at how beautiful an old oxidized paint job look after it's been cleaned. Got questions call us at 505-304-8652 order anytime at lukatdetail.com

Wow Rob, this is amazing. Revolutionary. I doubt many people have the work ethic to do this to the level you did, but great example!
When it comes to my car, I love a fast ( but proper) fix. If I need to spend 15 minutes rubbing my trunk in order to not have to repaint...I'm on it.
I had no idea how that burned foggy white clear coat would buff out so nicely!
do they still make TR_3
EXCELLENT tips! My truck needs this!!...imma try it...well my husband will lol, thank you for posting this!
👍🏽😎
Love it! I can see the reflection of your Pink Floyd shirt!!
Yes! Thank you!

If it looks so much better spray some fresh clear coat on it after.
Either way, you gave me some ideas to ponder. Thanks
Nice job , best part is I saw the t shirt Pink Floyd in refection . All the best from UK
Thank you very much for your expertise. You really do know what you're doing. Most don't......As they say, "Good job bro, good job".
I wouldn't say he knows what he is doing. You can't get fisheyes in hardened or dry basecoat or clear coat. I agree with the comment above that recommends scuffing the entire part then reclearing the entire part
Thanks for the tip and demonstration, Rob!
Hey. my issue is the guy that did my paint over did it with the clear coat..it has runs..its high gloss but looks bad in its current state..Awesome video!
Thank you so much for helping us. It is so shiny that I read Pink Floyd on your shirt.

Clear lacquers will redissolve when wetted with lacquer thinner.
Very cool, I have a 30 year old Ac7ra Vigor that has big spots like this. I am going to try this
If the clear coat ( lacquer ) has gone you must be cleaning the base coat, how would you keep it looking wet and shiney?
Love the vid Rob and love your shirt!
Thank you peter

Thanks. My Blue, 2005 Honda Civic has the exact same problem. THIS INFORMATION IS VALUABLE. THANKS AGAIN. I will use your techniques for an inexpensive restoration.
Haha Cant afford both. But if you wanna pass them fwd I can buy what you got left. 😅
I have a blue Honda Civic and it blew my mind how well this worked! Good luck
Brilliant video and tips i realy got to try this on my car roof thanks alot for your time and video.
How long does this temporary fix last to your clear coat and I have to admit you're not even halfway done yet and I can see that you're going to get great results
1 day
@@lexbrusb.1821 Do you know that for a fact or you just being facetious ?
@@bencoss7003 well, judge for yourself. He put lipstick on the pig. One carwash and that stuff will wash off
@@lexbrusb.1821 Can't blame a guy for trying, far as I'm concerned if the industry put a little bit better of a clear coat on their vehicles that they put out that we got to pay anywhere from 15 to $100,000 for a car or truck coming off the line put a little bit of a good clear coat on there that last few years instead of a few days wouldn't have to have guys trying to fix it like that I give a guy a for effort
@@bencoss7003 I dont blame anyone. This method is just a waste of time and money. The only car with bad clearciat I know of is a honda civic.
That's So Awesome to know and be told just seeing is believing

So you’re polishing the failing clear coat, and waxing the unprotected paint? And this accomplishes what exactly?
You are the paint coat Pastor.
Just tried this and it didn’t do as described disappointed
That's the darndest thing I ever saw! I always wondered if something like that could be fixed without major paint job. I got an old Pinto that I'd like to try that on! Thanks for the video!
Hi Donald you want to know something crazy most people think this is a wax! But it’s not its a dedicated cleaning polish because your cleaning and removing years of built up contaminants what remains is the smooth glossy surface you can do it with a machine or by hand you can clean it in sections over a period of time or getter done all in one shot anybody can do it and save a ton of money
Ain’t that cool ? You can order 24/7 at our website lukatdetail.com or order direct at 505-304-8652 Have a Merry Christmas! 🎄👍🏼😎

Memories of Cars Past! Well Done!!
Asap.
Glad I could help!
Just order mine.. waiting to try on my old BMW..
Good Job ! The sad thing is the majority of people won't do this because it takes something called WORK !! To many people they're afraid of work or it's a cuss word to them . lol I think it's great !!!

Awesome job!
Thanx Rob.
i would apply a 2k spray clear coat at the end, it is the only way for long lasting results.
Yup that can be and it's been done. After you polish it to a smooth and glossy state It'll get it's shine back then rub it down with alcohol to get any residue off before you apply the clear coat.
WOW! There's hope for the pick up after all! Looks amazing!
My best advice to help advance your company would be to add a sure fire way to get rid of the old ridge line clear coat. So even up close it looks good. Maybe a cutter specifically designed for old clear coat? I don’t know but best of luck to your company!
The products seem to be great ones. Could you please do a video about, how do these two products behave after a year?
These products are made for restoring old auto paint jobs
If your old car or pickup truck's paint is old and hazy here's the product made for bringing back the good remaining color and shine. Lukat Fix it Color and Gloss restorer polisher and the Lukat EZ Sealer wax.
Two Products Two Simple Steps One Great Finish
Step One: Use The Lukat Fix It Old Paint Cleaning Polisher to remove embedded oxidation, contamination, from off of the surface of your old auto paint job.
This product is not an auto paint wax rather it's a liquid deep cleaner made for polish cleaning removing restoring your old paint job back to a smooth and shiny state.
If you have a classic car with an original single-stage paint job with an oxidized chalky patina or a ruff textured patina on an old metallic single-stage base coat? Then this is the stuff to bring it back.
Step Two: Use the Lukat Ez Sealer Wax to preserve and protect the finish.
Apply like a regular wax let dry and cure for about ten to twenty minutes then remove.
Remember these are old paint restorer products there made to bring back your paint to a better state. After these two simple steps, the paint job will be smooth clean, and shiny once more now you are able to use any over-the-counter wax to enhance the finish.
Special disclaimer for a delaminated clear coat,
( WE CONSIDER DELAMINATING CLEARCOATS AS DESTROYED PAINT JOBS ) If your car's clear coat is eroding or peeling the very best thing to do is simply repaint it. Once the clear coat comes off it's not coming back.
BUT IN THE MEANTIME, you can use our products to help beautify the car's paint job, use the Lukat Fix it Color and Gloss Restorer Polish to polish clean back the remaining color and gloss on the good remaining clear coat and polish clean back the shine on the good remaining color base coat. Feather back the crumbling edges preferably with a kitchen scouring pad or sandpaper 400 to 600 grit. If you want to know more simply call us if we don't answer text us and we will get back to you. Thank You.

Hi Lee congrats on keeping your paint job in the best possible state by paying attention to it
It is easy to keep your paint job in a beautiful state by simply paying attention to it

Wow, incredible. My paint is fading on the roof but not flaking, so I guess I can use the sand and then the cleaner with wax. Thanks!
Yes you can!
Love his video. Entertaining and educational.I did mine yesterday but got a little orange peel effect over the larger areas. I will update after the blending.

when you have a new vehicle or a used one with no paint issues wax at least once a month and this will never happen.. it's usually in your car's manual how to take care of the vehicles paint as well as interior.. some people are just LAZY and think that washing is good enough. if you live in a very hot climate I would paint protect after every wash...
Many car brands have recalls for lifting soft clearcoat..even if you wax them weekly it still happends...
Nice outcome for a heavily oxidized paint job
Looks like a legit product. It will look even better if you cut then polish after though right?
Hi Shawn
When used correctly on and oxidized clear coat that is not peeling it’ll look 👀 almost if not like new
And it’s a permanent fix
If the clear coat is peeling it will improve the over all look 👀
This is a good option for people who are saving up to fix their car. In the meantime the car doesn't need to look bad.
Makes me wonder how I'd spot this when buying a used car? Hate to see my car has no clear coat once all that stuff wears off.
Just take a really good look at the paint from different angles, not just from a distance. You'll be able to tell.

That's why you NEVER want to buy a car at night. Under artificial light a car might look great till you see it in natural light the next day.
Happened to me after a year and a half the spit started to fade not much as this car but bad
ricky lee bush cccc. Bheo
Hi Rob ,I want to call or if you can just tell me what type of towel/rag did u use to clean with the hood in step one.
I’m so exited I just ordered this product 😊✨
Perfect fix for my paint. Thanks.
Looks great! Thanks for the instruction.
How long dose it last ?
I was thinking of getting a new paint job but that will be expensive on a 97 Chevy 1500 extra cab. So Ima give it a try when I get all that extra time. Ima need a lot of elbow grease. 😆. Nuttin but elbows
Go for it!
YOU MADE THIS LOOK AMAZING, I BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE EDGES OF MY DOORS AND ROOF AND HOOD, WANTED TO PAINT BUT THIS RESTORATION LOOKS EASY AND CHEAP
GRACIAS!!!!
It's a cover up you still see the bad paint under it you hurt the value of the car
Many of us has a car till the paint is like this or worse. It's not a cover up. It's to make better than it was after all we see it every day the ugliness of that kind of paint. This is quick solution without knowledge expertise. At least he took the time to show others his wonder.
Really great video, sir!
Very Nice . Thank you kindly for Sharing
Daggone. Ima get the products n do this on my car. Rob, thanks a lot.
It looks good if you are 50 feet away
There is no way , no way , to fix this without sand, paint and clear coat !!!
I'll try it. Even if it does only last 3 months I'd be happy but it looked to me like you took off years of weathering so maybe it will last longer
It was way better than I expected.
Looks good... If it's flaking I think I'll use the cleaner, and then spray clear coat on it.
May God Bless Practical Folks!
Same as using my girls makeup, works wonders. My car still looks brand new.
You should suggest people use nylon blades. They work well and font dig into the paint.

Dang... looks nice .. should’ve done that with mine before I tried to repaint it .. now I’m left with a unevenly painted hood.
