    Thanks for the help i replaced my fuel pressure regulator on my 96 f250 with the 460 and now i can switch gas tanks with no stalling. Thanks again for you help.

    Also, the fuses and relays are good. I can't hear humming from the fuel pump right before trying to start. I have a Power Probe and tried to apply 12 volts from the wiring at the inertia switch, but I'm not confident yet in my skills at using the Power Probe so that was inconclusive.

    Great vid. Very detailed and informative! I really appreciate the amazon link too. I have a 96 F250. Hoping it is similar. I'm getting a rough start where it cranks for a while then kind of starts runnning but rough then smooths out. Not sure if fuel pump or regulator. Someone told me to switch to the on position wait ten seconds, switch off and wait ten seconds and repeat three times...I did that and it started right up, so I'm thinking it's pump.

      I wouldnt replace the regulator until all the other fuel components have been tested and ruled out..

      Foxboss9 how would you test the pressure regulator? I'm having an issue when my truck is hot it idles rough and it will miss if I press on the throttle, it only does this every now and then especially when it's really hot outside

    I'm working on a 97 Ford F-250 or 350 with a 7.5 liter. It's an RV.
    No fuel pressure on the gauge. I sprayed starting fluid into it and it turned over no problem. Two out of two times. So I feel quite confident it's fuel related. The inertia switch is good. The fuel pressure regulator has no gas coming out of the tube when I take it off, so I assume it's okay, but I'm not familiar with any other way to test it.
    The electrical connection to the pump is possible to see, but not to access without removing the tank. I'm worried I'll change the pump and it be something else.
    Any wisdom you have is appreciated. I enjoy your videos.

    I have the three bolt FPR and I feel it might be bad. I need to put a gauge on the rail to see if it gets fuel? I changed the fuel filter and it ran some at least, but then it quit later. Really infuriating. I need to send for a fuel pressure gauge it seems. Nobody in this old camp for old people seem to know much less have a gauge. Ho well....joe smoe.
    I have a 460 '90 EFI 7.5 F 250 Lariat that I just loved and now am confused.
    Should I switch to other tank fuel pump? It was bad I so thought when I bought this truck some years ago. Got to figure it out. Thanks for your superb video. You guys are great.

    Hey I noticed you haven’t posted in a while but I have some questions about my 96 f350 with the 460 so I hope you can answer. I replaced the battery after coming back from vacation since it would not start. I put a charger on it over night and still it would not start so I just figured to replaced the battery. It was also a 3 year old battery. Anyway the moment I did that the truck started to surge and have a very rough idle. I could not get past 20 miles per hour and the truck would almost jolt to go forward. I took go to an electronic truck shop here and all they did for me was replaced the battery cables. They told me that the computer reset itself and that I just needed to drive it around a bit. For a week the problem went away only to return. Now I have to disconnect the battery and then mess with the throttle line to get it to go when I want to drive it. I just cleaned out the throttle box. And am wondering what else I should do? I am planning on replacing the spark plugs and fuel filter hoping that might help

    My old 460 efi ford f250 has dual tanks and it is now pumping 30 psi and I know not if the fpr is bad or not..but the poor old truck takes a few cranks to start. I switched tanks when I had nothing working and it now pumps out of the back tank and it runs but needs to know what I am doing for it. I think the fpr ought to put out some 50 psi for the poor old gal to run well.

      With my 460 I had added that 61 mm BBK twin throttle body I also added the banks stainless exhaust and Flowmaster cat back. Also, I remove the air injection and catalytic converters and put 26 lb flow matched injectors on. Also with the MSD ignition and wires and two brand-new Carter in tank fuel pumps the truck like to run best weather Towing or just everyday driving between 35 and Max of 42 PSI.

    my 460 would not start. the problem was the fuel pump relay

    Hi I have a 1995 f350 is the 7.5L I’m having problems with her she’s running really rough I’ve changed everything on her and she still runs rough on idle I took it to a mechanic shop and they can’t figure it out I’m running out of options any suggestions on what it could be I would really appreciate it’s my work truck I need her up and running thanks

    I have a qustion my truck has good power thru first and 2nd and od but when it hits 3rd at about 45 mph it hardly wants to go any faster unless you really give it gas to go into od any suggestions?

      You may want to make sure that your transmission doesn't have an issue. If it is a specific gear that you're having a problem with maybe that gears clutches are bad. Out of all the gears Overdrive should be the one that makes a lack of engine power show itself as Overdrive is by far the least amount of mechanical advantage to help accelerate.

    Okay I have an F250 7.5 liter I've already done that 10 fuel pump and fuel filter fuel regulator and the map sensor still acts like it's going to run out of gas while I'm driving and no codes are popping up and no check engine light what the hell is wrong with my truck if you know the answer be awesome

      Get a fuel pressure gauge to find out what your pressure is doing when driving...

      Cuz I know when it's not driving the full pressure is just fine I've already checked with gauges but I haven't done it while I was driving thank you

      try replacing map sensor a lot of people swear this fixes it

    HUH???? In a different vid, You install a off brand, that is adjustable? AND,... with a pressure gage.
