Loved the video. I've just bought the v3 and looking forward to christening this weekend (I feel a Stella Artoi coming on... ). Cheers from sunny England.
@@breakawaybrewery Your approach and savvy remind me of some of the NCO’s I worked with back in the day, so I will make sure to have a seat in the front row.
You are so right about the grainfather its a wonderfully reliable machine at a reasonable price, that can be upgraded in certain ways. I have never liked (trusted) counterflo chillers so I use my old trusty copper emmersion chiller, each to there own. Enjoy your cheerfull and helpfull content cheers from New Zealand
Just brought the G303 ! A small packet of cleaner would have been good included as they recommended cleaning first with their cleaner and I ran out of PBW ☹️ I live in the middle of nowhere and every thing is shut over Xmas . Subscribed and hi from New Zealand.
Thanks for this informational video. I like the tips and your humor (G-spot) haha perfect. Also the level indicator with the silicone hose and the rod is a thing that I take in consideration. Do you think it is possible to cut the tube just above the lower clip? And how may gallon would that be? Yesterday I received my new V3 inner basket for my V2. So I also can throw the old filter plates and basket out of my window. Next thing to do is buy some camlock stuff.
Glad you liked the video. You could cut just above the lower clip as long as you leave 1/2 inch or so for the hose clamp. As I show in the video, I recommend using a threaded rod to connect the upper and lower clips to give the hose some rigidity. Cheers!
I'm going to be the dumb@$$ rookie here, but I'm considering order the g30 set up with conical, glycol chiller, pump kit, and sparge heater. I've never brewed an ounce of beer in my life but have been trying to watch and understand as much as I can in regard to it and this system. Your set up looked amazing along with your mods. I particularly was impressed with your checklist. Is this something you would consider helping a guy with (diagrams, checklists, etc). Would be willing to pay a nominal fee. Definitely not looking to open a brewery, just looking for some guidance for a beginner.
Grainfather has good tutorials on their website and there are good UA-cam videos on how to brew extract and all-grain (recommend you start with extract). Your local home-brew store might offer classes too. My checklist(s) are for my setup configuration and I update them each time I brew. Your's will apply to your setup configuration. Use the tutorials on Grainfather to set up your basic checklist then, adapt it to your setup. Cheers!

The modifications & lessons learned are very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome! Next up. Brew Day.

@@patrickburke5523 LOL. Yep. Army Specialist E5.
Great video. Just bought a new to me G30 and can't wait for my first brew day.
Great news! I'm currently working on a "Brew Day" video using Grainfather's G30, Sparge Water Heater and Conical Fermenter. Stay tuned...
