He's an old-school Brummie. Generally very modest, and often considered the friendliest people in the UK. That doesn't mean he doesn't think he's more than competent. He just believes, if he can do it, there are probably (rather than possibly) others doing it or capable of doing it, too. He seems to just want customers to give him the time to do the job properly and get everything right rather than push him time-wise and he's happy, even if he doesn't end up getting full compensation for all the hours he puts in. He clearly loves what he does and doing it right. But he's done so many conversions that he also clearly beieves that pretty much everything is possible and problems exist for solutions to be found. It is amazing.
If driving a Cayman puts a grin on your face then driving this Cayman would make you smile like an absolute madman. Very professional job and definitely something to be proud of

How come this has only just popped up on my YT feed. That is absolutely outstanding work, original airbox, and coolant reservoir still in place. Other than the bulged engine cover it's factory. AMAZING! 👌🏼
This is amazing. I mean we have all seen LS swapped Miata's etc, but a mid-engine Porsche?! Definitely the coolest thing I have seen in a while. I would keep this car forever if I built this, I'm sure it would be a dream to drive especially since you kept the Porsche gearbox etc. We need to see a video of it cruising around! Edit: My father-in-law has an older 2007 Boxster S and the sound of the engine RIGHT behind you is pretty cool, this LS must sound incredible!

Always loved these type of conversions since seeing a Porsche 924 with a Rover V8 in Car and car conversions magazine 30+ years ago. The US company that does the kits is Renegade Hybrids and although they sell it as a kit that can be done a home, watching the video's of people converting theirs it is a LOT of work, proving i'm not up to it and with insufficient funds to pay someone to do it for me.. The conversion in this video by Dyno Torque looks as good as it gets. Fantastic engineering.
Years ago a friend of mine put a small block 350 Chevy engine in a 350 SEL MB and it ran smooth as silk. the conversion wasn't as hard as I thought it would be
i'm satisfied with my my 2.7l base engine. can't imagine what 4-500 HP would feel like. and would love the reliability and parts access/price availability with an LS.
What about the oil pan ? The engine is backwards ,the oil pick up tube is now on the front side of the car as i know,and when accelerating the oil will go at its opposite.
@@edmsport it is backwards, the intake is forward on a LS, it has to be facing that way for it to work but if they plan on driving it hard the sump should be modified as a precation
Oh I know what you mean, your right I guess it's just how they did the intake, I'm getting confused with some of the 911 LSs I've seen but obvisoly they are rear engine not mid
The center of gravity is now a little higher but I’m sure it will still handle good. The snap oversteer has now been elevated, I hope it’s easy to catch.
LSx conversions are GREAT! No one builds better trouble free and maintenance cheep engines then GM. I have a 89 944S2 with a LS3 and I can drive it anyware and not worry about not making it home. I also smoke allot of so called supercars in straight line and when it comes to curvy roads just forget it I'm gone. I've got a buddy that has 1st generation Lotus Turbo Espit with a LS conversion and it just marvellous car. LS is the way to go if you drive a car with unreliable engines.

How much did moving the firewall affect the seating position? I have a cayman as well and really interested in the swap but have heard the same issue about axles wearing out fast and breaking with the "kit" they sell. Would love to see some underside shots
Two brands meet for all of the correct reasons! LS engines are marvels of less is more compared to the very complex Porsche engines! I know I own both!

Engine,computer,conversion parts,labor...probably more than the car itself is worth. You can buy a nice Cayman S of the same vintage for 25k. I would bet the swap installed including parts was over 30k! What are the emissions standards there. It varies wildly ftom state to state in the US.
BoredThatsYImOnThis its not the type of the Craig does, but it’s possibly something he could get done with our friend Martin. The first question will be: is there enough depth in the wheel nut / bolt recesses & the second is: is it worth it? As it’ll be an expensive thing to get done properly.
Driftworks I believe there is enough depth the actual face that meet the hub is quite a large piece of metal, they are ET35 and the original ( OEM ) wheels are ET48 ( Integra DC5) would be worth for me peace of mine that the tyre isn’t going to make contact with the arch and mean il be able to lower on the coil overs at the back... I don’t have other options
Great isn't enough of a word to describe this conversion,, I've been looking at a Cayman 2006, 2.7 which seems to be quite a risky engine but are relatively cheap to buy.. I'm not into big powerful engine swaps as I would like a reliable daily driver with a 2 litre 4 pot engine installed and again utilising the porsche gearbox, ecu's swapped as required and maintaining the original look of the car as you've done with the LS3 conversion...etc what would such a project cost just in ballpark terms if you could help...
Is this a Holden LS, or a U.S. important from GM? Do you know if there's much of a difference between the Holden and the GM LS's, other than the UK and Aussie spec probably have tighter emissions?
Holden LS's are always a mix match of parts, like the ls1 having a bunch of ls6 stuff and the 6.0s having a bunch of ls2 parts etc but other than that they tend to be detuned I assume to not take away from their premier models in the u.s and Australia has very lax restrictions which is why we are a dumping ground for all of Japan's "dirty" engines they can't sell else where.
So you used the ancillaries from a FWD LS4 engine, with LS3 internals/heads etc, that’s brilliant mate. For those who don’t know the LS4 is a 5.3 used in FWD... 2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP 2006-2009 Chevrolet Impala SS 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2008-2009 Buick LaCrosse Super Had horrible heads and intake manifold but heads and intake from other LS platforms bolt right on. Uses a different bell housing though so won’t bolt up to other LS trannies.
He talks about it like he's just knocked up a quick ham and cheese sandwich. Incredible build. Fair play Craig

Isn't the ls4 the front wheel drive version?
Noel Medina The ls4 is fwd and mounted transversely. This engine is mounted longitudinally with an adapter plate to a porsche transaxle.

Having owned a RHD car with an LS engine (clue; it was Australian 😉), all I can say is,

You'd have to talk to Dynotorque, but based on other swaps, I'd imagine you're looking at £15k-£20k

Any update on the e92 LT4?
Not a great deal. Craig is still daily driving it. He's still not fitted the smaller supercharger pulley. But he has fitted an uprated ZF LSD.
I had to stop watching as I felt sea sick. Looks like an awesome build.
