- Guys, check out some different shirt collar styles and how they work with a beard. I believe I have found the perfect business casual shirt for work that mixes the benefits of a traditional dress shirt with a polo shirt.
You can check out Criquet Shirts here, criquetshirts....

As a teacher and my beard length... the collared shirt battle struggle is real. It makes mine flair out. If I can get my hands on a band collar style, I snatch it! Harder to find though
See Amazon collarless/banded/Mandarin/Nehru. After slogging through the collared shirts the search didn't catch and the ugly shirts that qualified, you might find some you like.
Yeah, I get that flair a bunch. Looking forward to warmer weather and polos.
Yes! You’re absolutely right! This is a thing! You’re the only one I’ve seen tackle this.
Collars have been driving me nuts all winter. But the problem is I love to hide my neck. Almost trimmed my beard because of it but I’ve been dealing with it so this is a sweet option. Thanks Matt. Love the versatility of your channel.
Thanks man!
Very good video Matt! I don’t wear too many collared shirts anymore. All I do wear of them are flannels or the few polo shirts to work. Maybe we can try to make sleeveless collared shirts trend? 🤣👊
Two Scotts think a like!!!! This is actually a great and informative video and def in the same situation as Scott.
Hahaha, love it!
Matt, OUTSTANDING video! I wear collared button ups 99% of the time. This collar fight is real. Haha. 👊🇺🇸
Thanks!
Man when your beard gets my length you cant even afford to have a body with your beard more or less a collar shirt🤣great video Matt 🧔
Best Video Ever!!! Great way to show how important apparel can affect the look of a Beard!!!
Thanks buddy!
Good info brother. Collars always win the fight against the beard.
Thanks man!
Truth! I get ready for work, beard ready to go and 15 minutes in and my collar is driving me crazy. I will definitely look for options reviewed. Thanks Matt
Nice work Matt. I wear a collared shirt every day... but with a tie. On Casual Friday’s I agree... collars are a bit of a nuisance. I will often just button all the way up... my wife hates it that way though. The Criquet seems similar to the Puma line of golf shirts - favorite to wear. Will need to check them out. Thanks
I like that you keep your scalp hair buzzed off. I think either a shaved or buzzed head looks best with a nice long beard. Nice.
Agreed! Thanks for watching.
Glad we agree...you're welcome.@@NoBSBeardReviews
Matt I love this! I thought I was the only one having this issue with my shirts. Especially bad with the button collars and my beard is pretty short. I'll definitely check out Criquet. Thanks!
Happy to help!
Wonderful video! Fine perspective to help us with the same problem. Of course, body shape, neck length, and beard length and style are all factors. The Criquet shirt was the only one unbuttoned to the second button; I wonder how the others would look that way. Some beard lengths and styles will let you get away with a tieless shirt buttoned to the top, others won't. Lots to play with here; thanks!
Great insights!
Great video and thanks for the recommendation. I recently bought a group of dashiki shirts and depending on the color and pattern they can work in very casual or formal settings. Amazon offers some really nice formal designs with dark colors and minimal patterns. I recently wore them to high end restaurants and the opera and received unexpected flattering comments. Dashiki shirts were popular in the 1960's but thanks to the movie "Black Panther" they are now considered au courant and hyper cool. The neckline is perfect for a guy with a full beard.
I’ll have to check those out!
Awesome information Matt! I actually never knew there was such difference in collars in those shirts! Great find in the Criquet shirts! I can get away with t-shirts for my job. Only problem I have is wearing jackets/vests in the winter! I'm all the time fixing the beard!
Jackets are a pain as well!
great video! unfortunetely I also have to wear neckties in a daily bases, that really gets in the way, not sure if thare's something to do about it!
I really love this video Matt!! Awesome!!! My beard is long and I have the same issues with the collar. I wear T-shirt as uniform for work and I don’t have issues, but I do have issues with the video that Scott did on the oils on the shirts around the collar. Luckily I have plenty of shirts to rotate. Thank you sir👍🏾.
Thanks man!
Nice lookin' shirts from Criquet but way outta my price range. I can't justify $79‐$84 for a shirt. That's 3 oil and balm combos 😉. I'll stick with the Walmart specials. Great video sympathizing with the Big Beard Struggles. 👍
I wear a shirt & tie everyday at work and when my beard was short to medium it would mess my beard up all the time. When I started letting it grow longer I found that I can brush the sides forward along the collar and down the front.
Yeah, for me it’s actually easier to do a tie, but that would be way over dressed in my office environment.
Great video idea and presentation, very helpful!
Thanks man!
Great video, Matt!
Thanks!
Awesome video Matt I always hate collar shirts very helpful video 👍👊
Thanks man!
Beard looking legit! 🧔🏻👊🏻
Thanks man!
Great topic to hit on Matt!
Thank you!
I hate collared shirts, but wear a blue collar uniform shirt daily. I cut mine off! Good info man
Great video Matt
Thanks
Yeah my jackets do that as well.. drives me nuts. Always busting out the pocket comb!
Pocket comb is a must!
great vid as always...now touch up that paint on the door trim....
Hahahaha, thanks!
Great video and important topic. Have you tried a band collar shirt?
Thanks DY! I have not tried that style of shirt yet, I’ll have to check one out.
Interesting. I always wear band t shirts haha I’m going out today and buying something nice clothes wise
Dan!! Great to hear from you!
No BS Beard Reviews I still watch a lot of videos (actually everyone’s vids haha) I just don’t comment a whole lot anymore for whatever reason lol
i found that putting a paperclip from the top button to the button hole it pulls the top closer with out chocking and pushing the beard out and the beard hides it
I’ll have to try this, thanks!
@@NoBSBeardReviews sounds good let me know how it gos for you
Great video-I haven’t solved this issue. I don’t like the way the collar that lays down on a dress shirt and use metal/magnetic collar stays to keep the collar nice and stiff and it gets in the way of the beard...
I’ve been looking at those magnetic collars
Great topic brother 💯👊🏽
Thanks 👊🏻
Another great video Matt. As my beard got longer I began hating collared shirts! Just plain annoying
Thanks man!
Can you share some info on sizing? Their sizing chart seem to be the smaller side
I wear an XXL which is slightly slimmer than other XXL’s from other manufacturers.
I’m dealing with collars now that my beard is long enough. I’ve been wearing no collar Henley shirts.
Yeah, I definitely go to henleys in the colder months.
Any NOBS discount codes? 😁
No but I believe they give you 15% off when you sign up for emails
Same boat as you man, collared shirt every day. They really are the enemy. Will take a look at this brand. Keep up the awesome vids!
Thanks man!
im short and my neck then is also short..I can wear 'polos' at work and can't have enough of them. I prefer 'Oxford' button downs. Any dress shirt has to have a low collor, beard and not designer or euro tailored. I hardly ever wear a tie. My favorite dress shirt on one actual Polo white, knit dress shirt , unusual, wish I could find a couple more
So, I had the same issue. My beard has reached the point where a collared dress shirt looks ridiculous. I am an educator and, naturally, am expected to dress professionally which means dress shirts. I concluded that I would switch to a banded collar style shirt.
The availability, however, of such a shirt was sketchy (especially in a brand I could rely upon like my beloved Stafford). Moreover, I had a good number of collared shirts in usable condition that I hated to toss. I was not about to let my wardrobe dictate my beard choice so I decided to alter the shirts. Removing the collar of a standard dress shirt (button downs pose a problem) takes about 20 minutes including the time to stitch it back together. I am not a Tuber but might be willing to make a vid if anyone's interested. Holla, Rob.
Sounds interesting!
Really nice shirts but way too pricey for me for a polo shirt.
Not a big fan of collared shirts. Thankfully I’m just a T-Shirt guy and use them everyday.
$80. Damn...
