This was created because originally they didn't have much for Jefferson to do when they brought him in to replace Steve. It became one of the greatest running gags ever.
Steve was holding it in when Marcy said "Why does he keep calling me a chicken?" Fun fact: It was Ed O'Neill who told her to bob her head a little bit like a chicken in that part.
Hence the dramatic drop in quality. She was apparently extrenely nasty person in real life, and hated Ed O'Neil in RL, which became a real issue in the end for the show She was also lesbian, and apparently her wedding, to where she invited everyone else from the show except O'Neil, was the beginning of the end for their professional relationship
Al and Marcy hated each other for their sociological differences. As someone who actively watches this show even to this day (You can find it on Hulu) I can say that these jokes are just the tip of the iceberg of hate from these two. The interesting thing to note is that the actors actual hated each other offscreen as well. Also to note that the actress that played Marcy wrote all the interactions between her and Al.

4:00 If that is the only time you saw Al speechless or put down, it's because you've only seen these one-side compilations. I have the entire set, there are 259 episodes and Marcy is constantly starting it with Al. The scene where Al tells Marcy a kid would starve to death if she breast fed it, was season 7 ep 1 and Marcy came uninvited and began making fun of Al's salary and insulting him as a father before Al said a thing to her.
Yeah, we do miss context with these compilations. And the thing is you can do them for so many of the characters on the show. ALL the regulars had their moments to shine and to be the hero or the villian or to be the butt of the joke.
In the interview, O'Neill shared that Bearse did not invite him or David Faustino, who played Bud, to her wedding, because she believed they would laugh at the sight of two women wearing tuxedos in a church. O'Neill confronted her about not being invited. "I said, 'Amanda, what is funny about two women in tuxedos walking down the church aisle?' I started laughing, and she said, 'See!' I said, 'Well, you know why, because it is [expletive] funny, and I'm not going to be the only one that doesn't think so.' But it was funny. She had a little white tux-to me, I thought it was funny. So, in other words, she may not have been wrong in excluding me."
In truth they did actually dislike each other. But both were professional and the actor who played Al has always stood by her when she had problems in her real life. And pump up Bra's do exist for women who have had mastectomies.
Hate the fact that this kind of comedy isn't and won't be produced anymore. loved watching that show and I love your reaction especially wondering about why Marcy and Al taking digs at each other. I'd say, because they are typical Slavic neighbors who unknowingly got far away from home ! 🤣🤣🤣
I may not have learned much in my five decades of existence. But I've experienced enough of human nature to be certain of one thing. Somebody out there has at some point invented an actual "pump up bra" to sell to all the Marcy's of the world. I guarantee it.
This show was and still is a fan favorite, it might not be politically correct in todays environment, funny, yes. I enjoyed watching your reaction and laughs, your accent is also very nice to hear as you question the show. Now you know why the show ran for so many seasons, it was fun to watch and see how the shows writers came up with week after week comedy. Enjoy!!
Georgia, both inflatable (pump-up) bras and water bras are real. As a teen, my friend's mother used to use them (we didn't have a clue and thought she was naturally large in certain places) and we were all enamored of her ... until the day her water bra sprung a leak. We felt so lied to and disappointed. Teens crushing on a busty divorcee is a hopeless scenario in itself but when the dream springs a leak it all goes down like the Titanic.
@@GeorgiaLikeBaker You're very welcome! Thank you for the reaction videos. I've been a fan for a while now and enjoyed seeing you react to everything I grew up on. Growing up i the 70s and 80s was an interesting time to experience. This experience I mentioned was just one of many.
To truly understand the dynamic between them you need to watch the show from beginning to end. The dynamic between them actually begins right from the first episode when Marcy and her first husband Steve (married for 6 months) came over and Al instigated a big argument between the couple.
It’s a shame that Ed O’Neil and Amanda Bearse hated eachother in real life as well though. Part of the reason the show ended was because of their behind the scenes feud
That wasn't her boyfriend 🤣 it's her Husband and she would turn around and some times she catches him laughing and he would have to do work around the house just to make it up to her. Watch the Show

I appreciate these Al Bundy reactions. I grew up watching his show. I always got a kick listening the two insult each other in good humor. Thank you. 7:06 - This part got me laughing as well. 7:46 - The look on Jefferson face when Al said that line..
One of the best was when Marcy got married to Jefferson whose last name was Darcy hence she became Marcy Darcy. For that matter, Marcy gave as good as she got. These youtube compilations don't reflect that very well.
Trading insults dates back to before television or even radio. The Greeks and Romans partook. Greeks even had a profession (called Sophists) whose goal was to win arguments from the weaker intellectual position. They were also teachers and philosophers, so it's not like they just went around insulting people. Norse/Danish (Viking) culture had a recognized pastime called Flyting which is extremely similar to "rap battles". Redd Foxx, on his show "Sanford and Son" sparred with guest constantly, most famously Aunt Esther. I'd guess guys like this type of humor more, but women are equally equipped to master the art if they want to, perhaps the best example being Mae West.
I love her British accent. That is the most awesome sounding accent. She could have just been reading a book and l would have watched this video and enjoyed it. Great reaction to the video.

Al Bundy is hilarious!! Thanks for brightening my day. 😃 Darcy is Marcy's husband, who doesn't work so he has to pretend to respect her, but is truly a big supporter of Al. Women have been known to pad their bras, if they want to show more than they have. Pumping them with air might work too.

In real life "Marcy" is gay. She also wrote many of the insults for the show. MWC is classic, today with all the woke BS you can`t do it. To bad as back then everyone knew is was just a JOKE!
Both Peg and Marcey's breasts were swollen because that episode they were both pregnant because Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy) was pregnant at the time in real life so they made Marcy Pregnant with Peg. When Katey lost her baby in real life they wrote into the show that the whole season was a dream by AL.
Yes there were inflatable bras. They had a bladder in the bottom half of the cup and you pumped them up with air to make your cleavage more voluminous.
The first reaction I found you on was Al Bundy, now we've come full circle, 😂😂. Married With Children is a great show, highly recommend watching full episodes. That is not her boyfriend, that is Marcy's husband. Her first husband, Steve Rhoades (He was in one of the middle clips when she asked "why does he keep calling me a chicken"). Her second husband, the one in the majority of these clips is Jefferson Darcy, yes Marcy's name is Marcy Darcy. Also, welcome back, it's been like 3 weeks. Also, can't wait to see the one and only Gabby back in front of the camera, 😂
I lose it everytime when Jefferson laughs behind Marcy's back 😂😭
This was created because originally they didn't have much for Jefferson to do when they brought him in to replace Steve.
It became one of the greatest running gags ever.
Like when Roper laughed everytime he ripped on his own wife on "Three's Company."
Jefferson was Marci's second partner and was always laughing at Al's jokes compared to her first husband, Steve, who was more defensive on her behalf.
Jefferson was her trophy husband.
Steve was holding it in when Marcy said "Why does he keep calling me a chicken?"
Fun fact: It was Ed O'Neill who told her to bob her head a little bit like a chicken in that part.
That's what people need to learn these days, is how to laugh things that hurt their precious feelings off and not take the insult or joke seriously.
Amanda Bearse, looks great in the Vampire Movie Fright Night.
Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in a high school football game. Polk High Legend.
Al Bundy the Legend. Used to watch him before I went to school this series was histerical.
Breast swells can happen for more than one reason, but the most commonly during late pregnancy/birth. The swells up because they are filled with milk.
The actress who played Marcy started directing many episodes in the later seasons.
Ohh did she?! That’s cool!
Hence the dramatic drop in quality. She was apparently extrenely nasty person in real life, and hated Ed O'Neil in RL, which became a real issue in the end for the show
