The funny thing is, is that in real life the actor who plays Al Bundy, Ed O'Neill could most definitely kick some ass, because he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, having trained for over 20 years under the mentoring of Rorion Gracie
funny how he takes a traditional boxing stance in most of the fight scene showcasing that the character has some actual fighting experience as opposed to the idiots who just swing their fists around
He was either drafted in later rounds, or was signed as a free agent to the Steelers out of Youngstown State. He did not make it far into training camp before being cut.
the guy who's wig he took off at the nudie bar was Judo Gene Labell, World class Judoka and Catch wrestler. He was the guy who taught Bruce Lee Grappling and subs. He's also the guy who choked out Steven Segal and made him soil his pants.
Aaron Haselrig Really!? I for real didn’t know that, I thought he just kicked ass naturally! To know he’s a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu!? That’s crazy amazing!
i always loved the episodes when they came together over something terrible and "won" in the end. :D Still my favourite sitcom, it has a cult following in germany, everybody knows the show.
I remember "What time will you have her home by?"..... "Ok, not a minute later." And KNEW he meant it!!!!!!!! I hauled ass on the way back to her house!!
Many people don't realize that Ed O'Neil was actually on the Pittsburgh Steelers roster for a short time AND is a black belt in real life. Add that to his somewhat larger than average size and you have somebody you don't want to piss off.
AutoslaapExpress I honestly wish I saw this show. But I have to question, what is it with Al Bundy and doors? Like before a fight starts he brings in a door and goes “Lemme show you the way out”
@@attackhelicopter7403 True shit. I still don't follow society's rules as long as it's not illegal, society sets you up to be a slave and I don't listen to their bullshit. And I gotta tell you, it has improved all areas of my life. Living on your own terms leads to some awesome shit.
You are so right young man. They couldn't and wouldn't allow this kinda show to be on TV these days. That is why yesteryears Comedy were actually funny and the the type of so-called "COMEDY" these days are a bunch of crap and isn't worth a flip.
They might show but with a caveat. A character beating up people would be the bad guy no questions asked. Even if the protagonist he would still be implied to be the villain. Back then you could have a character beat up people and not be implied as the villain. Now not anymore. Even then it was unusual. Most sitcoms avoided agressive protagonists.
07:39 Al had gone to Washington to try to get his favorite show, Psycho Dad, back on the air. The fight is when a politician is being mugged for his Discover card. In gratitude, Psycho Dad was allowed back on the air. [It had been pulled by the FCC for all of the reasons people had complained about MWC.]
None of these beatings were random, every clip had events proceeding and preceding that gave clear reason for them. Married ... with Children was all about 4 family members that on the surface seemed to despise each other. Yet at the end of the day, each and every one of them would go through fire for each other. The situations that led to fights were 80% Al getting angry at people disrespecting his daughter, 10% at people disrespecting his wife and 10% people disrespecting him. Nobody was allowed to do that but them among themselves.
I can see in the comments in all of these Al Bundy/Married with Children clips people are like dying to see a return of this type of comedy. But sadly, with PC culture and lawsuits nowadays this is probably something that we'll never get to see again :(
Married With Children was the show of shows. Grew up watching it in the late 80's to late 90's. It came on right after In Living Color after 9:00pm. It was the opposite of The Cosby Show.
First of all there should never be any random guys in your house and especially around your little daughter. That is when you start launching your fists and beat the ever loving sunshine out of him
Oh yeah........ we DID use to do "that stuff"! It was called "BEING ABLE TO BE A MAN"! Something feminists, women in positions of power, and the pansy versions of "men" changed in this Country! God, I miss the days when men could be men, and women who didn't want to be!!
I went to a friend's house for a party back in 1988 or so when a huge fight broke out next door. The homeowner -- my friend's neighbor --- was just chilling out in backyard when two guys showed up demanding to speak to the owner of the home. When the homeowner refused to talk to anyone, they began to kick in the front door. The owner of the home came out front and beat the hell of both men with a bat. The cops were called and found both men out-cold on the driveway. The homeowner told the cops what happened and they filed a report without pressing charges on the homeowner. The two thugs went to the hospital and then faced charges for attacking a man at his home. Today the homeowner would have to spend thousands to defend himself in court while the thugs would get a lawyer on the taxpayer's dime. I would love to return to 1980's again because people had more common sense than people today. Today everything is relative and gray, there are no right or clear answers. Well, most people of my generation see right as right and wrong as wrong. I was taught that if I ever talked back to a cop, I would not be allowed back home again. If I ever got arrested, I could not call home because my dad believed everyone who committed a crime should be locked up until trial. I
Yeah, I remember when my parents believed in cops as well. It only took them faceplanting my entire law abiding family in the driveway to change their mind.
I loved this show when I was a kid. Sadly now days people have forgotten how to laugh at everything and this show would never last today. It would be canceled. People now days are to easily butthurt over everything. They where actually going to make a continuation of this show with Bud Bundy being a father and Al and Peggy being Grandparents, but I'm sure it will never happen. No company will touch it. Its sad to see what Fox has become now days
My favorite show that back as kid and yes it was airing at the time. I'm 36 if i had kids someone touch my daughter or anyone i care for, Boots to asses my friends. It's the American way.
I’m the days where men were expected to be men and not feminized. If they got into a fight no lawsuits were called or the police unless it was a breaking and entering occurred. Funny part about this is the actor who plays Al Bundy was actually training with the Gracies in BJJ way back in the early 90’s before anyone had ever heard of it. He’s close friends with all the Gracies.
The funny thing is that Ed O'Neill can kick ass even better than Al could. Multiple black belts in Brazillian ju-jitsu from training with the Gracies for a couple decades.
part 4,45...she..the daughter i mean was about 15-16 years old when show started so if thats early seasons clip, then shes is 16-20y not about 25 or over :D just saying, no hate etc, just keep up nice work like usually
That stuff is still on every show and movie. Even the fat jokes and so on. And yes people really were and still are like that... Hell I'm just like Al Bundy
Even today, there are plenty of men who beat up unknown men going after their daughters. I seen those mug shots of them. Yes, there are fathers who still act like men. Even in the 1980's there were parts in the US that still performed shotgun weddings.

Al didnt beat up random people. The guys outside the shoe store was staring at a billboard of his wife, in lingerie.
It could have been anyone looking at his wife so yeah it still is two random guys.
The last guy Al beat up at the theater was David Boreanaz, who played Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel; he also played Booth on Bones.
He also cheated on Kelly .. bad mistake :)
He had to start somewhere.
Joey from "Friends" was also one of Kelly's boyfrinds in an episode.
Kelley Leary he also is the SEAL team leader on the SEAL TEAM show.
As the other guy mentioned, he’s also on Seal Team on cbs right now. I don’t think that guys been without work since this episode.
Great thing about Al is he always made out like he hated his family but when push came to shove he would throw down for them in an instant.
i always loved the episodes when they came together over something terrible and "won" in the end. :D
Still my favourite sitcom, it has a cult following in germany, everybody knows the show.
Not just Al, all 4 of them and even Marcy and Jefferson.
They were family.
Dads actually would do this to guys messing with their daughters back in the day, not as bad as Al lol, but it did happen.
now you can go to jail evan if your girl is getting sexual harrasement and you touch em and you are done
