Oh God, the train platform and the entire sequence leading up to it had me almost thrown out of the theater I was sitting in because I couldn't contain my anger. A fucking subway train rises up out of the ground, on what has to be a hydraulic platform and I screamed out, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?". Not only was this a waste of storytelling and special effects, as the train car could have just been resting on the tracks and the tokens used to open the gate leading into the secret platform, but how could he have built this in secret, away from Norman and his spies, electronic surveillance, and how did he fucking pay for it? How could he have expected to keep it hidden for this long or even manage to build it under the streets of NYC without anyone knowing about it? How did he dodge the police, transit authority, or square the permits without anyone becoming the wiser, in New York? OK, say you hand handwave that all away with rotating building crews, each working one piece at a time, not knowing how the finished product would look or function ala the infamous HH Holmes Murder Castle, how do you explain his master plan of telling his son this secret that could have easily been explained as a micro cassette or CD-ROM hidden within the linings of his briefcase, that he KNEW Peter would keep as a personal memento belonging to his own father, but instead hide subway tokens inside a cheap ass calculator that could have been thrown out, or lost or misplaced rendering the entire thing moot. How would he know that at some point Peter would open said calculator to find the tokens, and know exactly what they were for? Two big things that I hate the most about this movie: 1. Peter Parker just doesn’t give a shit about anyone besides Gwen. He doesn’t give a shit about those innocent citizens who crash by the truck at the start of the movie. He doesn’t give a shit about his friend Harry. He doesn’t give a shit about his aunt who is gonna be alone at her house with no body take care of her because her horny nephew flies to UK just to be with his gf. Most importantly, he doesn’t give a shit about electro. He doesn’t care Max is his biggest fan, and he doesn’t even try to save or cure electro who unwillingly turns into a monster due to an accident. He just kill him like nothing. Seriously, after he kill electro, he doesn’t show any guilt or even mourn for Max’s death. He just joke around with Gwen. Spider-man love interest should play an important role in his story, but she shouldn’t be the ONLY one who matters. NWH really fix this by showing Andrew’s Spider-Man saying Max is just a nice guy who turn evil because of that accident. He even try to cure electro, something he didn’t bother to do in ASM 2. 2. The fact that many people start to defend this movie just makes me so furious. Like…STFU. This movie FUCKING SUCK!
Also with Thor I like these moments where he seems somewhat ignorant (for lack of a better word) so he gets to be more funny, so when it becomes serious where he can truly show off his intelligence and problem-solving, it makes him a much better character since he has so much more to offer.
I just feel bad for Andrew Garfield, in interviews he’s mentioned how he always wanted to play Spider-Man and put so much pressure on himself while filming. Sucks that he got so much hate for this film when he had no control over it
Not only have I seen TASM2 up to three times now and keep forgetting that the secret-train-reveal scene even happens, every time I watch Gwen's death, I just remember that it wasn't as impactful as I keep imagining it was. What we got was a slow, drawn-out sequence shaking us and yelling "She's gonna die! She's gonna die!". What I remember in my head is complete and utter silence as she falls at a relatively realistic speed, before a sickening thud/snap sound as the rest of the scene finishes normally. My imagination made a better movie, and I was maybe 13 when I first saw it.
Guys please I’ve been trying to find that big band cover of the spider man theme used at the start of this video for literal years now, does anyone know where it’s originally from
wait so he cant afford milk but can afford a whole day swinging worth of spider web fluid or whatever that he used (never paid attention to all the science shit, these movies boring af)
If peter and harry are such close friends then why does he have to sneak into oscorp in the first movie when he can just have his best and closest friend who is about to own the company just get him in?
@californication of course it is, it’s a f*cking superhero movie with a giant CGI lizard as the villain, what do you expect, it’s still entertaining, that’s really all that matters
I never understood in the logic of the film why Spider-Man didn't just give Harry a blood sample. I mean, it either works and Harry lives, or it doesn't. Unless I missed an explanation within the film, it seems there is no reason for Spider-Man not to do this.
I like Nostalgia Critic's theory. His theory is that the scene in which Peter went to the subway and discovered A) that Oscorp wanted to weaponize his dad's research, and B) that the only reason the spider bite worked on him was that it had been made with his dad's DNA, was originally going to be BEFORE the scene in which he denied his blood to Harry. Because in that scenario, he has a reason to distrust anyone from Oscorp, plus he knows for a fact that it wouldn't work on Harry. But the script got chopped up and the final product makes less sense.
The amazing spiderman 2 is the greatest of all of them; the swinging, the fight scenes, the villains (specifically electro and lizard), the story line and they went all out with soundtrack
I am so glad that No Way Home exists because it proves that it was entirely Sony’s fault for these movies sucking shit. Would like to see Andrew get another solo film in the future.
I just noticed that he played Toxic by Brittney Spears in the background of the plane scene because the music video of the song takes place on a plane.
felt the same about Jamie Foxx. He got to play Electro which in my opinion is a badass character and he also was not done right in the film but I loved him in No Way Home.
16:35 To be fair in the comics Lizard has an army of reptiles that followed his command, which would be absolutely silly to see in a live action New York setting, so Lizard wanting to turn people into giant lizards makes more sense and is more of a threat to NY and Spider-Man especially if they would be under Lizards command.
Okay, now you got me thinking of an idea. I wanna see a movie where the superhero knows that anyone knowing his identity is a sure death sentence, and he uses that as a weapon, telling a few evil enemies his real identity so they die.
The KTCrew I haven’t seen Death Note, but from what I’ve heard, people die if the protagonist writes their name in the book and he can choose how they die too. I want this death to be more unexplainable and uncontrollable. The superhero knows a person will die if they know his identity but can’t control how it happens and he doesn’t know why it happens.
@@lnsullivan422 if i remember correctly, in tasm1 he stole the web fluid from oscorp or something, he just made the shooters. now, how did he make more web fluid? did he learn how to make it outta nowhere? did he steal more web fluid from oscorp? idk.

I just watched all five original Spider-Man movies, and there's something I noticed about the Amazing Spiderman. The Raimi films are a little notorious for their extremely long opening credits. Amazing Spider-Man starts almost immediately. It's like they learned lol
The revenge thing is comic accurate, it just falls apart based on the fact he already knows that it's his fault so he should've learned his lesson already.
I love the slowed down version of gone gone gone at 34:52 somehow it makes me wish the song was less upbeat and cheerful with it’s melody and more sad and slower tempo
On point. TASM movies are absolutely atrocious. I never thought that I'd be bored of a Spiderman movie but TASM 1 proved me wrong. As for TASM 2, that shit is the Batman & Robin of Spiderman movies.
The Green Goblin actually scared me as a kid in these movies, Not because he evokes dread, it’s because he looks like he is about to transform into a Resident Evil Creature
Yeah, but it worked a lot better in the trailer because it was edited better and they weren't talking over each other like a couple of babbling morons.
Considering Andrew Garfield's acting skills, humour, tallness, handsomeness, etc. he could've been a fantastic Spider-Man if his movies' stories were anything like the 2018 PlayStation Spider-Man game. It would just suit him well.

That’s what I like about this Peter he doesn’t give a shit
Best spiderman.

The actual reason as to why Electro became a villain is the fact that he was pissed from nobody celebrating his goddamn birthday.
Andrew Garfield is a great actor, this film was just a victim of shoddy writing.
