Awesome, thank you!
I wish that you would go back to give classes it's really useful to us learning English and you have such a good way to uitleg the fundamental grammar rules .
You’re explaining the topics you have chosen so far in a very good order. I like the way you teach. Please make more videos! I’m still confused about present and present continuous tenses in Dutch. Thank you so much!
When are you going to post more videos?

Best channel for learning dutch.
Thanks!
👏👏👏👍👍👍
Hey man! seriously, you should share videos more often. All of these people need your help!!!
So I sometimes I like listening to random things and then seeing if I'm able to translate them into Dutch on my own. Well a few days ago someone said "I will do my best", and without even thinking, I immediately got "Ik zal mijn best doen." It was the first time I didn't even have to think about translating it, it just came naturally, so I was quite pleased with myself.
Yup, that's the best part of learning a new language. Sometimes you catch yourself saying things and thinking: 'Hey, where did that come from?'
Just a small correction though, you forgot to translate 'to do' (not sure if it's a typo): 'Ik zal mijn best doen'
Oh woops, corrected.
ItsKoi congrats, that's perfectly dutch!
Niels, your videos are exceedingly helpful! I am pretty sure the subscriptions are going sky high! And hopefully the contributions for ur videos!
If I could make a suggestion of a topic, it would be very good if you could explain the use of "er". It is a bit hard to find the proper explanation in grammatical books.
thanks for ur work! all the best!
I agree! I made a few courses, and "er' is still hard for me to get!
Thanks Ianna!
Yes, 'Er' is a difficult topic. In fact, there are 3 different uses for 'er', so I'll probably end up making 3 different videos. There are a lot of topics to cover, but these are definitely on my to-do list
GREAT JOB , YOU ARE THE BEST ONLINE TEACHER FOR DUTCH
Thank really for nice explanation , best teacher in the UA-cam
You are great 👍
I m learning so many things from you.Everything is clear
God bless
Another great video Niels. Separable verbs would be a good topic, I think, as these have driven me round the bend and I suspect cause many English speakers problems.
Outstanding explanation, thanks! A question, what about the other modal verb, zullen? I can't think of an example where you can drop it.
Niels, you are a great explainer. Thanks for all your hard work!
Many thanks for your explanations Neils! It helps so much to understand these grammar rules. Thanks for your time and looking forward to seeing more videos!
Please make more videos. They are very helpful and you explain it so nicely and in a very simple way that learning becomes easier. Please upload more videos
Hi Kshipra, thanks for your comment. I just uploaded a new video :)
Dankjewil voor de video! het is erg moelijk om de video naar Nederlands te vinden!
Thanks for the video! There aren't so many Dutch tutorial video out there on youtube.
Thumbs up and subscribed.
You're welcome Ian! Glad you like it
(I'd say: "over Nederlands" = "about Dutch". 'Naar' means 'to' or 'towards')
your explanations are crystal clear.
Glad you like the videos Darragh!

Dank je!
I have been trying to figure this one out for a long time. thanks for the video.very clear now
I'm glad it answers your question Joseph! Thanks again for your support
Echt nuttige video Niels. Dankjewel.
Thanks so much...really very good done and so efficient explanations..
Thanks again!
l really found...difficult...to understand and work, with the hoofdzin en bijzin....i did not found videos about that....
and with the conjuncties too
Thanks for your explanation it really helps me alot ☺☺
Hey Niels, I have a suggestion, maybe you can do a video talking about the conditional. I think it's an interesting topic and people would be very interested!
by the way, how would you say: I would like to eat every day in the market.= ik zou graag ieder dag in de markt eten???
Thank you in advance, looking forward to watching more videos!!
Niels ik vind jouw videos leuk. Erg hartelijk bedank
Dankjewel Dayanna!
Great video! Keep it coming, thank you a lot Niels!
Thanks Milan! I'll try
I'm enjoying your lessons.
Very helpful! Thanks!
Thanks again Niel! Just recently I was searching for a lesson on separable words, then to hear you speak of it. A chance you could do a video on separable words?
Hi Nette, yes, I'll definitely make a video on separable verbs. I just can't say when exactly, but stay tuned :)
Thanks, you're the best!
Learn Dutch with Niels! Yes seconded! Separable verbs are the one thing that gets me!
well, all things you explained are also exists in Russian, so it was not weird for me to see that:) It's a good benefit from Dutch to me. Keep doing a great job
Hi Andrew, I didn't know that! Can you give me an example in Russian? I'm curious to see how similar it is. Thanks for your comment :)
(ya poidu v kafe - I will go to the cafe) = (ya v kafe) which occasionally would also mean "I am in the cafe", but it would be ok to understand, (ya poshla v magazin - I(she) am going to the store), = (ya v magazin) where the "go" part is out. Or - You could say - (ya poidu domoi - I will go home) = ya domoi "I home", (ya idu spat' - I am going to sleep) = ya spat' - I + to sleep. (Mozhno mne vyiti v tualet(toilet) - Mag ik naar de WC gaan?) = Mozhno mne v tualet? (Mozhno nam poiti v masterskuiy? - Mogen we in de werkpaats?) = Mozhno nam v masterskuiy? Dat moet - (eto nuzhno(neobhodimo?)) Mag dat - tak mozhno? Ja, mag dat - Da, tak mozhno. Nee, dat mag niet - net, nel'zya. So it is pretty much the same
Hah, that's really similar! Cool, I didn't know that. Thanks for the examples!
Is it considered informal in Russian, or can you use it in all kinds of situations, like in Dutch?
I'd rather say it's a way of "Relaxed pronunciation", i am 100% sure that a businessman would say - (ya na vstrechy) - I am going to an appointment, rather saying (ya IDU (go) na vstrechy) or (ya EDU(drive) na vstrechy)
Ah, interesting, so in Russian you can have a sentence without a verb. That's even more extreme than Dutch -- we have to have at least an auxiliary verb.
Ik vind jouw videos heel good. Bedank Dhr. Niels! Ik kijk naar de volgede video. 😉
Dank je wel Nhat!
Hartelijk Dank Niels super mooie video .
Dankjewel Aghiad!
Moet dat?
Is it necessary?
Kan dat?
Is it possible ?
Mag dat?
Is it allowed?
Verder is zoals "weiter" in het Duits.
When me and my colleagues sit for lunch at the table I notice that when somebody requests for an item they do this very same thing.
For example:
Mag ik de brood?? (hebben)
I didn't really know why that was the case until now.. Thanks!!
Mag ik de brood?? Sound very rude.
Kan je mij het brood geven - Kunt u mij het brood geven.sounds ABN.
@@yoepie4959 are you dutch? ( im not trying to sound rude just curious) because mag ik het brood does not sound rude at al!
almost correct! it's mag ik HET brood. :)
@@yoepie4959 Mag ik het brood, is helemaal niet grof. Informeel, maar niet grof.
Kunnen jullie met ze alle lezen?? (ergens betwijfeld ik het) lees alles is vanaf uncle sam!
Bedankt voor alle lessen!
bedankt Niels. You really help me. Groetjes :)
Very useful lessons, Geweldig !
I'm glad you like it, Khalid!
He really knows how to explain 5 stars from me
Jij bent de beste!
Hallo Niels, I would like to ask to you if it is possible one video about the use of "er". It is Very important But often I can not know if I must use er or hem or het ecc. The 4/5 way to use er... are a little bit difficult
Hey Nils: what on earth does "mee" do in the end of a sentence. For instance "reist met je mee" - ins't enough to say "travels with you/reist met je"? Why do we have to add "mee" in the end? Thanks so much!
Hi Luis, 'mee' has two functions. In your example, it's a part of a separable verb. Here, that's 'meereizen'. I'm not sure if you'll find it in the dictionary, but 'mee' can easily be added to any verb related to transportation. It means 'along with...'. So 'meegaan' means _to go along with (someone else)_, 'meedoen' means _to play along_ (in games or activities), and therefore 'meereizen' means _to travel along_.
And yes, you're right, 'met je' already conveys this information, so it's redundant. Yet, it's always there. You can drop 'met X', but you can't drop the 'mee'.
Makes sense now! Dank je wel :)
Snelle vragje - U zegt (zachte?){g} als [ɣ], maar ik heb het geleerd als [x] of [X]. Is die van jouw de standaard uitspraak?
Maar een gok, misschien komt hij van het zuiden. Ik ben er niet zeker van, maar misschien komt hij van Limburg of Noord-Brabant.
thanks a lot your videos helped me a lot.
Can you also say ' ik kan' + language, as you do in German, to mean you speak that language?
Ik ben nummer 1000😉 gefeliciteerd Niels
i have one question? ( under which rol Niet is coming at the end of the sentences?
Hi! There's no rule that causes Niet to be at the end of a sentence. There are a lot of other rules though, so sometimes it ends up there. I'll try to make a video on Niet in the future. It's unfortunately too much to explain in a UA-cam comment
Dankjewel, gast! :) Heel duidelijk! Kan je een video maken waarinn je uitleggen in het nederlands?
Hey Lukaz, dankjewel! Ik heb eraan gedacht om een ander soort videos in het Nederlands te maken (misschien met een verhaal of met andere oefeningen). De grammatica doe ik liever in het Engels, want dan begrijpen meer mensen het (hoop ik!).
Je bent een heel goede en uitstekend lerar. Can you please make a video when to use "heb" and when to use "zijn" ? I get confused. For example: I am hungry in Dutch is Ik heb honger not Ik ben honger. Also, another example: What do you want ? in Dutch Wat heb je nodig ? not Wat doe je nodig ? Confused!
Really helpful. Thank you.
Thanks!
Is this considered grammatically correct or is it just used in everyday speaking? in other words, can these constructs be used in a book, a newspaper etc? Thanks for the wonderful videos, keep it up!
Hi Said, good question. This is considered grammatically correct, but it's true that this is a little more informal. However, it is very common. You'll also find it in writing (novels, newspapers, emails...). If you're writing an official letter, however, you should avoid doing this.
Thank you
what can i do to practice the “r” sound that comes from the “g” letter?
Hia Niels You ok mate? :) Did you enjoy ya Prinsjesdag last month? :) Oh, oh! Not only do I like learning Dutch, I also enjoy taking the mick out of it! 😂😂😂 Some of the compound nouns when literary translated are so funny! 😂😂😂 I.E “schoonvader” “father-in-law” but quite literally “clean father” what in brass tarnation is clean about somebody’s in-laws?! 😂😂😂😂 Oh, oh! “Handschoenen” “gloves” “hand shoes” 😂😂😂 “brandweer” “fire brigade” “burn again” Oh and the false friends it has with English are brilliant too! XD I swear to god! Admiral Akbar from the original Star Wars trilogy won’t wanna walk up or down the stairs because “IT’S A TRAP!” 😱😱😱😂😂😂 And he doesn’t wanna use a ramp because it’s a disaster! 😂😂😂
Hoi Niels!! Let us know if you are going to post new videos. They are really good. Also, do you give private lessons? I hope I get a feedback from you. Dankjewel!!
Hi Monique! I just posted a new video (finally)! I don't currently teach lessons anymore. My job doesn't leave me with enough free time to teach. Thank you for asking, though!
Dank u well ❤❤❤❤.
Niels your video's are great! Have you stopped making them? :(
Are you stil active And making such educational films Mr. Niels???
There’s no new films from you !!
Dank je!
goede uitleg ,maar kan jij meer verdiepen in de scheidbare werkwoorden en hoe kunnen we omgaan met ze in de verleden tijd.
Hallo Bahaa, ja, ik zal in de toekomst een aparte video maken over de scheidbare werkwoorden!
Thank for this video ,,,,,,

Met mij gaat ook alles goed! Blijf je in Brussel?
Nu ben ik in Cairo, maar ik ga in April naar Brussel terug. Misschien op 18 of 21.
Veel plezier in Cairo :)

Dank u wel 😊
Thanks for the video...
That explains a lot
Goodbye! Good job and thank you. Continue in this way
Dank u
Kan jij (Zou )uitleggen ??
Dank je wel!
Good channel
Hi Niels, I thought to myself that you have a weird accent for my pool of known Dutch accents. I wanted to ask you where in The Netherlands are you from ?:)
I'm from the province of Limburg, in the south east of the Netherlands. Our accent is indeed a little different if you're used to Randstad accents, but if you're familiar with eastern Dutch or Flemish accents, it doesn't sound so strange :)
Ik vind leuk je video! Ik ben klaar mijn Inburgering examens maar ik moet meer Nederlands studeren.
dank u wel meneer
Graag gedaan!
komt je uit het nederlands? als zo waar?
Ja, uit Limburg!
Learn Dutch with Niels! Cool mijn oma komt uit rotterdam
