@@DonGianiGuides it's a cool thing. Since it's a very combat based event people have learned some other ways too that can be used with other items, I.E dart guns.
Yea thought it was common knowledge bc of this, its how i do it most of the time (cuz i play with friends on their server instead of my own, and even with DSA my pc is still too shit to handle 1 world after 1 year). I do headslot unequip cuz its convenient on my other pc, and when its dangerous id rather just not do it
@@santinogirado5487i wasnt there for the original event, but now play forge with the mod. I havent seen any method of making the darts go faster as stutter stepping makes it worse. Theres 1 way that is sometimes just rng, while sometines completely guaranteed (i call it super darts where if i hold f and spam click the ground the darts go real fast). But again even getting it is rng, and sometines you can lose the super darts mid match too which is another odd thing about it

I remember years ago this was the first way I learned how to attack cancelling. I was bad at the mouse clicking method back then, but I came up with a way of doing it where I slid my finger from the d key to the f key, since they are right next to eachother, which cancelled it very consistently, but doesn't work on some keyboards (my keyboard was a laptop at the time)
I never tried animation cancelling and when ever I tried it I failed , so I made this method myself by just attack + move key button and repeat , its cool that I'm seeing this method is actually viable Thanks Don Giani
This is exactly how ive always anim cancelled (keyboard way, not mouse) when fighting because I'm awful at equipment swapping timings for the more common anim cancel techs TIL that it had a name and was a legitimate strategy lmao
people didn't invent this, its just super optimised animation cancelling you still just get extra dps and attack faster by cutting out the last part of the attack animation and you use walking to cancel it and you use this movement smartly but it's not like a farm that gets invented, if you see anyone animation cancel once you'd figure this out in like 15 minutes of gameplay good video
The only problem with stutter-stepping is that it really heavily depends on your connection if you are in a server that you don't have decent ping on or not the host it's less consistent to stutter step. been doing this since beefalo first came out and more people noticed this with moose aswell those are easier to do because they have a longer attack cooldown than normal players
I am mostly interested in animation cancelling in pubs tbf, and the lag inconsistency makes it not worth to do most of the times, but I do give it a shot sometimes, esp on a beefalo I will just stick to double hitting shadows
do i need some particular setting to do the mouse one? becouse i was trying it in practice and i noticed that sometime clicking away from target would make my character attack again instead of start moving, making it impossible for me to anim cancel with mouse.

@SirPelor that's weird. You don't need any particular settings in mouse, only Lag compensation off in DST settings and the DSA mod
