My favourite thing about Wurt is that all your problems can be solved by just "Add x amount of merms", and somehow don't feel like cheesing the game. Grinding for merms feels rewarding in the best way possible.
How am I going to stop some big mean mother hubbard from tearing me a new structurally superfluous new behind? The answer? Use a merm. And if that don't work? Use more merms.
No pig skin? Just build a merm pig farm. No silk? Build a merm silk farm. No wood? Build more worker merms. The entire world trying to murder you? Build more merm guards. Also gold is so easy to get passively as wurt. Just have a bunch of the automatic ocean fishing station thingis. I only had 3 in my last playthrough, got about 2-3 fish per day, thats about 4 gold per day and its more than enough for single player.
My favorite thing about Wanda is how her health works, resisting lethal hits whit fast reactions and being extra cheap to maintain health is great in early. My least favorite would be her lack of anything not related to clocks, she even lacks a personality bc her dialogs are 99% time jokes
Absolutely. I honestly wish I mentioned that as my "least favourite" thing. Characters who are entirelly talking in gimmicks are just kinda lame honestly :)
@@dragonbane08This is a two-sided blade. Taking dmg overrides turning time back and turning time back overrides dmg done. You can take hits that would kill literally any character in the game, or just enough to kill you and still survive by using your clock. But at the same time, if dmg itself is low but rapid, this dmg instantly overrides your healing. I find this mechanic very cool.
Wheeler in Hamlet kinda suffers from a similar problem, no doubt due to trying to get her character finished for the final release. A disappointing chunk of her dialogue is reduced to lines about showing things in the Pew-matic. But she's still not quite as bad for it as Wanda imo; a lot of her dialogue still shows some hidden depths. Like her anecdotes about her grandma, her love of cats and hatred of dogs, her 4th wall breaking frustration at the game not letting her make scrambled eggs, and her _immensely_ displeased sarcasm with half the shit in the Constant.
My favourite thing about my main, Wilson, is that he can basically become immortal at one point of the game, due to how much beard you'll have, which is a resource that's normally a lot more boring to collect WITHOUT wilson, not to mention how he rules over winter with ease, a thermal stone, a hat and you're good, heck, sometimes just the stone does it. My least favourite thing about him, is actually the beard too His beard actually becomes such a hassle during summer and hot places such as dragonfly biome, and since it grows pretty quickly you have to keep on shaving or else you'l have to endure it, it doesn't help that his two beard related skill tree perks only make this problem worse.
Tbh I’ve never played Wilson, but I never bothered to use anything besides thermal stone for winter early on. After I get tam o shanter I sometimes use it, but mostly my tactic is the same: One thermal stone, one torch. Just fire up a tree and fully charge yourself with warm.
Yeahhh, for a character that's like so big in the lore, I hate how all their dialogue is just "Oh, that's really ticking my clock!! TIME to get out of here!!"
you know what, yeah! she's literally a tinkersmith but she also built toys, used to own her own candy store and a bunch if other things but her only personality trait are clocks and that's kinda boring
Eh, I disagree. Her personality is mostly about how impatient she is, her knowledge on the Constant and how forgetful she is, and her love of trinkets and nick-nacks.
Ok about willow, as a Willow main, i know her downside can be neglected BUT, EXACTLY BCS oF THAT ITS DANGEROUS. Since she always has her lighter in hand, you can easily forget about her body temperature and it can get really annoying and deadly. You simply CANNOT let her freeze in any ocasion, since youre usually letting your sanity constantly below 60-50, and she loses a lot of it while cold; (+ if im recolecting right, she also loses more health from freezing), so basically you get insane pretty quickly, loses a lot of health in the way, and even if you somehow manage to get warm again, if for some reason forgot bernie at base or if hes dead bcs you couldnt craft a sewing kit in time, youre basically doomed at 0 sanity. Thats even worst if youre at the sea, you also, simply CANNOT let her get wet, bcs she will lose way too much sanity. And in that case you either need to bring with you a pack of things to burn, or youre doomed, bcs theres nothing to recover your sanity from, or stop the freezing. And in addition to all of that, you lose like, 3 slots of your inventory -if not more- by default, bcs of ambers, bernie and her lighter + if youre in the ocean you WILL need to have a stack of smth on your inventory to burn, that or you become the god of sealing. Not counting the tools you usually will always be bringing with you. Basically willow has a really low inventory storage wich can and do get annoying later on, specially bcs of ambers, you can lose track of them very easily. (About the cold, theres also the point of you need to be constantly lighting things in winter bcs miss girl does not get isolation from clothes properly, wich is just annoying, gets you insane rapidly, fucks you up bcs she does not gain heat from clothes, the clothes just maintaine her body temperature for a liiitle longer )
Walter def needs his skilltree the most, I adore him but I always feel useless trying to fight monsters unless I was able to gather a bunch of marble beforehand(which is unfortunately based on terrain generation,,,) or having big woby where you can easily run away if they get too close :) I agree on the sleeping tent, great source of healing and sanity buff when I bite off more than I can chew on something, but big woby is my favorite. It's basically a free early game beefalo, and I always make it a priority to gather enough monster meat to explore the map!! Woby my beloved
I really like Wickerbottom's personality. She's kind of a cranky old lady, very scientifically-minded but sometimes she shares her opinion on stuff like food, and her quotes indicate she has a love for a lot of animals.
Oh no, I mean _harvesting_ marble :) He can get lots of it with beans, he just has to sluggishly mine it. Whereas Wolfgang can mine them instantly, Wurt can chop them with merms, Woodie can chomp them and so on! I just wish he could get marble faster in a sense like that :D
I think for Walter what Klei could do is make his slingshot no longer take ammo at all, but instead it will shoot infinite rocks or marbles or something, which each do 25 damage, meaning that he can use it effectively like an infinite boomerang. This is VERY good because he can always get the attention of creatures that need to be provoked before combat, such as koalephants. And also being able to infinitely kill rabbits and birds for free food would be really nice as an option. I could see some crazy Walter tech right now where you wear the feather hat while it's raining and just go out on a bird massacre, because both rain and the feather hat increase bird spawn rates.
Oooh I love that idea!!! I'm currently mocking up an idea for a "What i'd like to see in future insight tree" style video, and for Watler I had something incredibly simular to that, like his lunar aligment giving him unlimited lunar rounds that use a cooldown, or "reload" instead :)
As a Warley main, I will not accept this slander! 😂 Few reasons why I like him: 1. Spices. Not only can he boost his and his team's combat power with spicy volt jelly, but he can also boost resource gathering with the help of honey. 2. Ability to cook anywhere, anytime. Specially useful for extended exploration when you don't have access to a crockpot/bundle wrap. 3. Unique crockpot recipes for stats and temperature manipulation. Plus his downside as a character forces you to become a better player and explore more mechanics of the game.
Oh no I absolutely agree with you! I think Warly is one of if not the most engaging characters in the game :) I mentioned the whole swap character thing because it's a common point of contetion for Warly with others- I personally never use characters as swap character. I start with them, I finish with them :)
i would love if each of wes skill tree points give massive buffs but each have a downside like dealing extra damage but taking extra so he can become this versatile glass canon where everything you do has a large risk and large reward
My favorite thing about Maxwell (aside from his lore, personality, and in-game dialogue) is probably his low Health. He really encourages you to pick your battles and think critically about what your fighting and if you have the numbers/resources TO fight it. I *REALLY* hope he gets a skill tree next because there is so much to expand upon. If there's anything I don't like about Maxwell it's how ineffective his dualists can be, they aren't bad (especially after his rework) but they start out really weak and require you to hold/wear stronger magic items to do significant damage. (Sorry for the paragraph lol, great video keep up the good work!!)
While the slingshot is a very good contender, I honestly think Walter's sanity mechanic has to at the very least tied for least favorite thing about him. Sure not losing any sanity unless you get hurt may sounds nice on paper, but you'll quickly realize just how distasterous this mechanic can be when you play him. His sanity loss is DOUBLE that of any health he loses, so if you're really taking a beating it won't be long till the shadows finish you off. He'll lose sanity if he gets hurt by literally ANYTHING (including just picking things like cacti or roses). And if his health isn't 100% full he'll just continuously lose a lot of sanity anyways, with not many as easy ways to bring it back up like the others. If you aren't really good at combat or at least dodging a lot of attacks this will likely be a death sentence for you. The slingshot should mitigate a lot of this, but we already know how terrible that is. This forces more inexperienced players to go with a much more passive route with dangers while playing as him, which you CANNOT keep up forever (the hound waves alone will make sure of that).
my favourite thing about all survivors is wxs rook skin and my least favourite thing is that the rook costume is so good to me that i never want to ever try any other character because i wont be a rook
My favorite thing about Wilson is his torch throwing. before you kill me hear me out. It's great for lighting up boss arenas like the eye of terror especially early game. it lets you chop trees and stuff at night because you don't need to hold it. #3 it's such a cool and unlike ability and if you ask me, it's worth it. least favorite part though I hate how people say he's all-round a good character because he has no downsides. but his beard makes him overheat faster in summer.... WOODIE HAS NO DOWNSIDE BUT NOT WILSON?? if we count skilltrees.
Also, I believe that a maxed-out torch is about as good as a lantern because you can also light trees to save durability and warm up but hey that's just my opinion
Main Maxwell here, favorite thing I like about him is perhaps his lore or his pure potential, his servants make gathering easy, Warriors can help with most bosses and shadow prison is always able to save you in a pinch or make mass amounts of mobs manageable. Least favorite thing his sanity gain, as he relies heavily on nightmare fuel, his sanity gain makes most easy ways ineffective or only temporary and the Shadow Warriors don't attack insanity creatures. the only effective way is to summon servants till you are locked into insane and pray not too many of the shadows decide to show up
Oh my god yes! The insanity part is a double edged sword. On one hand I don’t have to worry about it but on the other it’s a pain to stay insane to get that goddamn nightmare fuel. Thank you for acknowledging that!
I think Maxwell may have needed to read Wickerbottom books before his rework, and as far as I'm aware he's always been able to read Wickerbottom books, the developers just didn't feel like taking out Maxwell's book reading abilities I suppose. I actually like that he can read Wickerbottom's books, because you quickly realize that mass reading is not possible without a bone helmet or literal perfect and immense amounts of sanity food, or you just get overwhelmed by shadows and struggle or even die. I love how he can store a book in his shadow dimension from the Maxwell chest, then Wickerbottom or someone else can then take that book back out of the dimension and put it in a bookcase to refresh its durability at any time.
@@lonejohnwolf couldn't have said it better myself! Besides, it's not like he gets away with it for free, as far as im aware, when MAXWELL reads wicker's books, he'll lose an imense amount of sanity compared to wickerbottom's(which is already a massive drain for her), he basically loses so much sanity that it will become a problem for a while even for him, having his high sanity limit and an insane sanity aura.
@@shiomaneki Yeah I'm pretty sure that he loses literally double the sanity of Wickerbottom. It's pretty much only good to read Wickerbottom's books as Maxwell if you want to go insane and get nightmare fuel, otherwise it's just a very bad idea in most cases.
@@lonejohnwolf pretty much. To be fair, it is worth it to read it if you're alone and tampering with the portal, but if you're playing with friends, it's actually better to just leave that to wickerbottom herself.
My faivorite thing about Webber is how widely available spiders are. Got a depth worm attack in the caves and have no armor on you? You can just tame some spiders from this random den you didn't even know existed and distract the worms! My least faivorite thing about Webber is how cumbersome spiders are. You can't take them to or out of the caves if you don't spend a lot of time manually bringing them all down there. And also sometimes the sheer VOLUME of spiders following you can endanger other characters' operations. Example: Wurt. Even when a king is present, tamed spiders will still automatically aggro onto merms and the merm king, having the potential to kill them! I do agree with you on that silk availability is great and switcherdoodles being a bit too expensive, even some of the more valuable spider switcherdoodles, like nurse ones, are easier to get by finding more of that spider naturally.
The problem with merms is that you can't even grab them! you have to take the entire house with you! And the king doesn't work cross shard too... Wurt cave base only challenge?
My favorite for woodie is definitely the moose form and how it trivializes a lot of boss fights, not to mention that you can cheese a lot of bosses with enough treeguards
personal favorite thing about wanda has to be the risk-reward playstyle with clocks and shadow items being more effective, makes me have to get better at kiting or timing. least favorite however has to be the near reliance on the ruins, it makes sense but i do not like rushing the ruins.
As a Wormwood main, I’m used to most of his downsides as I’ve played him for a long time. One thing I want to add about the bees is that when there’s other players near you, the bees will attack them. I’ve had to deal with bees coming to my base and attacking my friends while I’m inside, and I had to kill the bees just so other players don’t die.
Favourite and least favourite, hmm. Hard to say since I'm mostly familiar with Don't Starve solo but... Wilson: I greatly enjoy Wilsons design and quotes, he has a lot of personality, but he fails to stand out in a meaningful way especially in DST where everyone has a special Niche and wilson just doesn't, maybe if players had to start with wilson and unlock the rest he could return to being the introductory character as he is in solo but i digress. Willow: I honestly can't think of much honestly, her perks are alright but I just never vibed with a fire starter in a game where fires are so catastrophic. I'll mostly refrain from bashing on skill trees here but, yeah I just wasn't a fan of hearing how she's basically a wizard now. Wolfgang: Boy this a tough one. Playing a character who trivializes combat encounters is great but the DST mightiness mechanic is just really a drag and removes the strategy involved with managing your hunger with the solo version. Wendy: I enjoy her dialogue and Abigail is very helpful and fun mechanic. I don't think the Pipspooks or potions are a terribly interesting mechanic though. Would greatly prefer the abigail changes at bare minimum be brought to solo. Wickerbottom: I got nothing, I've never cared much for her, last time I played her in general her whole gimmick was just being a walking science machine. Woodie: Beaver. Everything else. Wes: Funny mime. Sad Mime. WX: I have been a fan of WX from the start just as a concept, and I have been BEGGING for him to be modular since the days of Don't Starve's initial beta. Now he is modular and i think its great, but it could be better, he could do with more niche circuts and maybe even "chassis" upgrades that don't require internal power like armor plating giving him a small bit of natural armor similar to Wigfrid or a waterproofing kit which simply raises the amount of wetness he can have before he starts short circuiting. Waxmell: I've always loved how strong his sanity is, allowing him to use dark swords or night armor with no penalty at least individually, and a very small sanity cost if used together. I'm significantly less of a fan of his shadow minions, they are handy and I suppose its what he's known for now but it doesn't entirely feel congruous with the lore that he couldn't really control the shadows in the first place, leading to him being the first victim of the constant. Webber: I enjoy his naieve dialogue. I can't think of anything I really dislike about him though, i've always kind of seen him as opposite day wilson. As for your note on switcherdoodles giving webber bonuses, neat idea but given that the skins system exists it might not happen since ideally it would require webber to take on the appearance of said spider which would conflict with custom skins mechanically and conceptually, to be clear I would much rather have webber morphing to suit his needs than a mtx cosmetic system. Wigfrid: I enjoy how readily she can jump into combat from the start of the game and it fits well with her diet. Her diet never felt like a significant downside given she's always fighting which outheals even starving damage if you do it right and you can just dog pile a thousand spiders and eat their raw meat and come out ontop. (she's probably the only genuinely broken character of the main cast) Warly: I have no real opinion aside from never having liked much of shipwrecked or its characters beyond their designs. Not eating anything besides a crockpot dish sounds painful but I've never played DST Warly and I'm generally not a crockpot scientist so everything usually comes up as meatballs, meaty stew or ratatouille. There's also his unique dishes which have a bad habit of making other items redundant, volt goat jelly specifically making the morning star a waste of horns. Winona: Winwho? I have not played her and everytime i read about her her only selling point is her machines and they don't even seem that interesting or valuable outside of swapping to her to setup automated farms and swapping back. Without her machines she's just beardless Wilson who can craft the tiniest bit faster, and for an engineer character its really a shame they didn't go wild with giving her a whole factory of different buildings she could make, or provide benefits to existing machinery like fling-o-matics. Walter: Uh, i got nothing, he's entirely new to me like wanda. MTX: I dislike all the purchasable characters in DST because they are purchasable and not part of the core experience, and I also dislike them all because they all generally are 10x more powerful than the rest of the cast trivializing or ignoring a big chunk of the games mechanics. Wurt for example has the health of wolfgang the stomach size of warly without the hunger drain AND with bonus hunger from vegetables, and the sanity of Maxwell when she deploys a merm king, even before that she still has incredibly above par stats in all areas in addition to her other major bonuses and the only drawbacks being a vegetarian (which is less a penalty due to Reap what you sow existing and her bonus from veggies) and pigmen hate her. The others have just as many issues with little to no downsides.
my least favorite thing about willow is that if you farm spiders for embers you keep getting cooked monster meat which has less uses than normal monster meat and can't be shoved in the salt box for later
Fun thing about Wurt in winter. While your merms don't leave their house, normal shack merms will. You recruit them and walk them over to your base to become king.
As a Wurt and wormwood main who playeda lot of maxwell recently, my problem with him is that he encourages a playstyle where you just... Don't play. Get on a beefalo and let your shadows do whatever, he is easily S tier in every tier list because he is good at everything without even trying, and that would make most players just get too cozy with that.
i think what they need to do for wilsons torch insight tree is make it apply to all holdable and wearable lightsources. the throwable torches could be made into either a throwable stackable item like glow sticks or a flare, or make it so any light source can be thrown. i think i prefer the latter though personally as you could instead do something like make light plants fruit throwable too.
I used to be a Wanda main, and I hated that clocks would clog up my inventory like you said so I always had to pray that I got lucky with a krampus sack drop. I just wish she had a container like the battle canister but for clocks.
That turned out to be longer than expected, but it was fun writing it What I kind of found odd is that for some characters, like Webber, the best thing about them was their resource collection capabilities. Which is usually easily outdone by setting up an early farm for for example the spiders or early pig farm/merm houses for the other resources. So those perks were rather strange. For woodie I think the goose's ability to walk on water is much more beneficial as you can explore the ocian earlier, faster and at a lower cost. For maxwell, I would use the books as the upside. I don't see it as somehting that kills off Wickerbottom ( she is needed for the books to exist, although with the bookshelf regeneration added, her significance did decrease). But still this is a very nice mechanic and combo that uses 2 characters with not overpowered linear stats as the old WX/Wolfgang combo. But for maxewll, the best one would be the ability to access his chest from anywhere in the world, as this provided at least 9 additional slots. With Bee Queen blueprin you can have 9 Bundle wraps -> 36 slots in which you have any kind of items. Also I am not sure if when other people add things to the chest, maxwell can pull it out. It thats the case, then multiplayer becomes even more worthy. Imagine doing a ruins rush 2/3 players. Then you create all the loot and the 3rd player simply picks out those items from the base with no risk. You then drop off all the other essential items and if you die, you can be easily revived. For Webber, he really doesn't seem very usefull. After some farms are set-up his contribution is very low. Spiders are weak allies, only spider queen+ healing spider combo can be advantageous. Aside from that, not much to think of. Well thats some of my thoughts.
I think a really cool idea for wes is have his trees make him slowly become better then by the end hes slightly better thsn most characters so he feels like a slow start for a big pay off except mske his tree reset everytime you start a new world so you cant have him at max
honestly, i think walter is fine as it is. once you get a big enough marble forest set up you don't gotta worry about a thing. what i actually think is pretty annoying about him is how woby behaves. once i get into combat and forget to get something from woby the dawg makes it impossible to get it. also bucks you off when ya get hit which means ya only gonna ride woby when you're exploring. one more thing - why does he have to be alergic to bees😭 bee queen was a war of bunnymen. but yea, i play walter pretty much exlusively, and his ammo never really bothered me. then again i also mostly play to just survive, no rush or anything. main world has 900 days and i still haven't properly been to the ruins. i guess it' subjective.
As a Wendy main I can say my favorite part of her is specifically Abigail's AOE damage, I always am tasked with killing spiders or bees since Abby can take them down very quickly. Honestly the difficulty with potions was never an issue because of this, Wendy is good as a support character so Abby wouldn't be able to take down a boss by herself anyways. The potions are good but not needed.
Favorite thing about wanda is just how differently combat is done with her. With most bosses if you have enough healing and armor, you can just brute force them. But wanda really requires you to learn the bosses well which i found really helpful while learning how to rush the ruins. The whip is honestly one of my favorite weapons to use and is really broken at an old age but I find that balance enjoyable. One thing that I still underutilize is the backstep watch as it gives a dodge that makes dragonfly a total breeze. My least favorite part is the same as yours, the amount of inventory needed for watches is ridiculous. Doing solo ruins rushes are often a battle more with the inventory. It would be cool to see like a clock pouch that lets her store watches. I would also like to see wanda getting more 'chase items' like upgrades for said pouch with the lunar and nightmare rifts because often, I don't bother because the better weapons still aren't too useful for wanda and the armor puts her really vulnerable. When she gets her insight, it could be cool if there were permeant portals or stations to unwind watches faster.
My favorite thing about playing any character is their perks and different play styles. My least favorite thing is forgetting which character I am and trying to tank as an early game Maxwell or something
8:44 To be fair, it's not just a "basic damage increase to an alignment," it gives her a SONG that increases the damage for ALL of your allies (and also gives them some defense against the opposite alignment too!) For Wurt, my favorite character, I agree with you completely. Kelp in particular is the most painful to get (and it's the one you have to get the most of for some reason). It's really frustrating there's no way to get Bull Kelp unless you get to Lunar Island/Pearl's Island or somehow stumble across Moon Quay island. I'm not counting the Strident Trident because that requires you to kill Crab King, lol. Though also to be fair, you can get those structures built before getting a merm king. Your merms just aren't going to be as strong until you do.
@@BiddoBamss when you roll back or disconnect to serwer during day time all frendly spiders dissapear, to avoid this glitch you need to save when holding frendly spider in inventory this spider will be immortal to this glitch (also works if you change or destroy spider den that this spider come from) this happend because game after rollback set those spider to thier dens again and they forgot abaut you This is so annoying and happen very often to me but no one talk abaut that
8:00 I actually really love this idea!! In fact, I loved it so much that I believe it would be a great addition to the game! One that klei might even add someday if we ask for it! Maybe in a future webber skill tree or something. It would just be a bit hard to balance, since some spiders don't really have a lot of interesting abilities to give webber. Like, if he ate the water spider cookie, what he'd do? Walk on water? I think that'd be a bit too much... No? Specially since woodie already does that in a much more balanced way. Other than that, there's the white crawlers from the caves, what would their cookies do? They're pretty much just cave warriors... Maybe it could reduce his sanity drain from the dark? Since webber struggles with sanity and the most infamous thing about the caves is sanity loss. I could keep yapping about it for an hour, but I think you already get the idea. TLDR; love the idea, would love to see it in the game, it would just be a bit hard to balance.
I love how Wickerborttom has a lot of potential in character combos implicit between lines (pun intended). There are a lot of things she can farm with help of others and how she helps others too. You can control rain, full moon, grow plants, give light, farm fishes, get tons of gloomer goop for eyebrellas, mushroom planters, and the list goes on and on. The hardest part is her sanity managing as she doesn't have any advantage to counter it or fight the shadows, or sleeping, so you have to bring up each and every card you got access to in order to keep reading. But I wouldn't hate it as it brings you up new challeneges. Perhaps the thing I dislike are other players able to grief stealing my books. And wormwoods getting nad their crops aren't gigant.
So what about the characters from the DLC? I'll tell you about the ones I've been playing for the most lately: My favorite thing about Woodlegs is its treasures, you get a huge amount of different resources that you often don't usually use because of their rarity. My least favorite thing is his unique boat, it is absolutely not needed, either for bosses or for traveling, I usually use it only to quickly kill whales if they appear near the base. My favorite thing about Wilba is the simplicity of resource extraction in the beginning, you just turn into a werewolf and extract them for several seasons ahead, it also helps a lot to be able to take pig resources without any problems. My least favorite thing is her fear of the dark, during the first seasons it's still tolerable, but during flowering you just can't raise your mind properly and walk around a lot of time with nightmares, it's very annoying.
My least favorite thing about Webber is the spider sounds, you dont realise how loud they are until a random Webber marches into your base with 50 spiders that scream at you every 2 seconds
I hope Wes’s skill tree makes him the hard but very rewarding character, would especially find it funny if one upgrade just made all his stats 100 instead 75 so he is not too similar to Maxwell when it comes to health management.
As a webber main i agree with this as it takes alot of resources to make and these resources are hardly renewable as the only Switcherdoodles that sre easy in resources are cave spiders, spitters and nurses since each one isnt hard to get and is bountiful, also i said the exact same thing when webber eating these doodles
My favorite thing about winona: hotlights and telepad My least favorite thing about winona: after playing with hot lights and telepads I never want to even touch other characters because it means I have no hotlights and telepads.
For Wendy my least favorite thing is that Abigail can't attack the shadow monsters but she still has her damage penalty. Favorite thing is spider farming with Abby
Tbh my favorite character is Wendy and she can actually do insane damage if your invest in a ornery war saddle beefalo more damage than a dark sword. Fun fact when Wendy attacks the same enemy as Abigail, Wendy gets a damage buff this also applies to other survivors though it's less. My only complaint about Wendy is how when you start getting late game you feel more and more useless as Abigail gets outclassed and replaced by other characters. Wendy is a almost perfect character except for the fact she feels so not needed late game.
@@YourLocalGamer_YLG Yeah I agree. With the update, they made Bernie a better Abigail and made Willow a wizard. Hope her skill tree makes her more useful
Ill talk about my mains bcs yeah!? My favorite thing about miss willow is how much of a MANIAC in solo i can be; its so fun to just go CRAZY early game as soon as i got enough ambers, ill go kill everything on sight, and even before that, fighting with the lighther is SO FUUUN. Least favorite thing is how awful shes on coop, i need to be extra careful, and my favorite thing about her (putting fire on everything and going BAZONKERS) is toned the fuck down, so i usually just dont play as her in coop, wich is just sad bcs i love her so muchh. About wendy, My favorite thing about her is the same as yours, abby and how her gameplay is sorrounded around her doing the damage rather then Wendy, and Wendy being the support. My least favorite thing about her is also, the pepespooks quests, how tiering they are, how far spread they are in the map, andd how i wish she had way more things related to ocultism other then just abigail's potions, hope she gets smth more on it in her skill tree :]
Hey, I just wanted to comment my appreciation that you used WX-78’s correct pronouns! I know they are “just a video game character” but it still is annoying to see so many creators blatantly misgendering them. Also I think a video where you talk about your favorite and least favorite skins would be cool!
I'm still relatively new to the game, but I have solidly selected WX-78 as my main The thing I love most is how incredibly powerful and even unstoppable you can become very quickly with the right circuits, especially the speed circuits. They're the best in my opinion My least favourite thing is that they are very luck dependent. If you get an amazing spawn with rabbits and rooks all nearby, that's amazing! But if you get stuck in a place with nothing to scan for miles, it is so frustrating and miserable. I hope his skilltree will in someway remedy this, maybe giving more ways to access circuits or scans in general (bio data can become scarce at times) would be appreciated!
my favorite thing about Wormwood is the fact I don't need a hoe to plant crops which leads to massive harvests, least favorite thing is that I have short memory and need to keep a plant per season guide on hand.
for maxwell's book reading skills, i would agree but he has a far greater sanity penalty than wickerbottom when reading them so he does have a downside for dabbling in her library so she isn't completely out of the picture
and for wigfrid's beefalo tree, i don't think it's ALL bad... it does incentivize you to actually ride a beefalo because as you said she's one of the few characters that don't need to tame a beefalo other than for story progression (plus it's like old valkyries riding horses or something)
Sanity for Maxwell's basically a joke though, Wickerbottom has a much harder time managing her own sanity from her book use than Maxwell does. And the 'tradeoff' for that sanity penalty increase is getting to use the books as one of the strongest characters in nearly every activity, as opposed to needing to be Wickerbottom who's almost entirely downsides outside the books. They should've gone the Wurt route with Maxwell, giving him some use for the books without actually getting the spells directly, that way Wickerbottom has a real niche to fill outside being able to actually craft the items.
@@KaleidosXXI eeeh... i still feel like the sanity penalty for maxwell is fair enough considering it's more than double the penalties from wicker. maxwell also loses all his sanity within 2-3 uses of one book while wicker has the opportunity of using them all at once without losing her whole mind. even though wicker can't sleep she still has access to cactus so it's really not THAT hard to regain sanity as her, at least when i've played her it doesn't seem as hard, maybe i haven't played her enough.
maybe they could just make the spells weaker when used by maxwell because he hasn't consumed the knowledge beforehand but not outright remove his ability to do so, and to make wicker not just a switch character so you can turn over to a more fun character
i love listening to these videos while doing other stuff like playing dst (im doing wurt stuff right now actually!) please continue making these yapping videos lmao
My favorite thing about Wanda is going Grandma mode. Just deciding to risk everything to melt a boss is extremely satisfying (when I don't die immediately)(also anything related to the alarming clock is my favorite so). My least favorite thing is probably that you need to get to the ruins to actually use any of her other clocks besides healing watches because one is only enough to sustain life not heal it. Also whenever she fights she says "You ruffian! I'll clean your clock!" and I can't stop my juvenile sense of humor from changing it to "clean your cock" :)
Walter cooks fast like Warly, not the other way around. Warly is fine to play solo, no swap needed. I think Walter is misunderstood and people put too much stock in the slingshot. It's a starter item. Really good at getting aggro and hunting birds. Hunting birds helps you with better ranged options in blow darts. And who doesn't like food that just falls out of the sky. Make that into jerky and all stats get some love.
Fav Thing about Wicker: how much Utility she has with her books, and being able to deal with the most BS Boss in the Game(Bee Queen), least favorite is the fact that some books aren't very useful and that there isn't an Ice Pen or more Pens Fav Thing About Wurt: Also Alot of Utility like the Sunfish and Icebream, the 33% From Non-Meat Foods, Merms and so on, what i dislike about her is more of a gripe with the bosses having no limit on how much targets they can AOE on BONUS Beefalo: High Reward, and can cover other characters weakness like Wendy(If you know you know), least favorite is that we need more unique saddles that are actually good and not a joke like the Battle Saddle we got from Wig Skill Tree, maybe add Shadow and Lunar Saddle for Planar Damage and Resistance, also Klei need to make Beefalo get knockbacked from the new Bosses instead of only dismouting you.
My favorite charecter is Wilson, as he is the first charecter i ever used and learned the game with him. I know other charecters have cool advanteges, but playing wilson just seems more chill and "base game" to me.
In all honesty since I main Woodie, I wouldn't dislike Klei changing his skill tree to make his Lunar affinity cost 2 or even 3 insight points instead of both his Lunar and Shadow costing 1. Like I can forgo the walking stick, hard hat, and -1 log refinement if it means not being able to randomly transform on a full moon, especially on a server with Moon Storms active where it's a full moon every night. Keep his shadow perk 1 affinity since it's honestly not that good unless you plan to stay in wereform while insane SPECIFICALLY, but also change his Lunar affinity to cost 1 skill point to unlock the path, a second to advance down the tree, and then the third for the actual ability, instead of having him kill the Lunar Champion to unlock the skill at its base level. The first unlock, like the affinity itself, would the lock out his shadow affinity tree entirely like normal, meaning it's all or nothing for his lunar affinity. This would mean that if you want more skills, like a mob specialty or his wood carving skills, you'd have to sacrifice one or the other, or just stick with his shadow alignment. The Lunar skills is OP and it's the one I main all the time with no difference between my playthroughs as shadows are manageable at worst and my insanity doesn't tend to drop into the realm of insanity anyway unless I intend on it. I also tend to always spec into Beaver points since I don't do a lot of solo combat, so my harvesting ability is always usually better in the large server than my combat skills, as, with an achievement mod and half a dozen players, there's no need to spec into combat as that's what most people go for to begin with. Plus the harvesting speed of tail slap is just all around good to have, even when you're solo, combined with the fact he doesn't spawn tree guards while in beaver form, you can demolish entire forests with no issue or penalty, including petrified ones without needing Bearger.
There should 100% be an option in the settings menu to disable WX's annoying ass music box sound besides just muting in-game audio altogether. We have one for ambience, why not "music box"?
My favorite thing about wortox is just his character i really like his design. My least favorite thing about him is that souls aren't that useful, in most of my worlds i usually just always have a near full stack of souls since they aren't useful for anything past some healing and the occasional cross map teleport. I really hope he gets a skill tree soon that adds more variety to what souls can be used for.
Wortox's character is one of the most unique and stand-out ones in the entire game! Sometimes I play as him just because I wanna play as Wortox :) No matter what he can do
The inventory is the really the only downside for Wanda. Klei do NOT need to change anything else. Keep the damage, the cons and the pros. But if she gets a skill tree, I would love a "clock inventory" feature. That's the only thing she needs.
The only things I strongly disagree on are with Wanda and Walter. Wanda's worst thing is either that backtrek watches use walrus tusks (rip Wandas playing with friends) or that the alarming clock doesn't do planar damage, so she basically stops being a combat character post rifts. As for Walter, Woby is just a beefalo but worse in every single way. It bothers me to an irrational level.
10:55 sorgy but her pirate skin is peak, i dont even play winona and i want that skin i really like it (maybe thsrs just bcs the art is really good and im a lesbian who likes pirate woman but whateverssss)
You know make me wonder what Wes and Wilson could have been if they changed for their own gimmicks. I specially love these two characters (I love Wes because he is a nice person in a fucked up world) and some their skins, but is kinda sad that you can't play in a really cool way with them or just get downsides. Maybe Wes could be more about sanity or more perks that can give a little help more than expected, idk.
honestly my favorite part about willow is her dialogue, i find her very funny and charming :) i dont find myself interacting with things much as other characters, but i always want to know what willow has to say.
Since Woodie was releasen in Dont Starve, i have NEVER touched any other character. My brains just doesn't register there's other options. The thought of playing without a talking axe whining from your backpack is unthinkable to me. Also, Woodies down side can be seen as an upside in certain contexts. If you play like me and are contantly bordering starvation, eating an idol can give you food when you transform back if you had the perk for it to give you food after turning back, that plust the time that you didn't lose hungere because it transformed i to a weremeter. I once did a challange of how long i could survive by only eati g idols and the answer is indefenetly. If you are on caves and kill enought spiders and collect enough grass, you can perma transform into the moose, and with the passive nightmares skill, your sanity is irrelevant...
I suppose I’ll also give my “Favorite and Least Favorite” list but I’ll just do it for characters I actually play Wilson is nice mostly just because he’s the default. He’s easy to pick up due to his lack of weird gimmicks. However that’s also what I don’t like. He’s boring, the lack of quirky bits makes him less fun for me. Wickerbottom, I love wicker’s books and the sheer utility they offer for pretty much everything in the game. However I hate how completely broken she is compared to other survivors, able to amass tons of resources in seconds for very little effort in return. (Yes, even after the ‘nerf’. Oh no it takes you 5 extra seconds of work and slightly more resources for the exact same effect! You poor, poor people!) WX-78, I ADORE how customizable he is as it makes you feel like you’re building your own character. I however strongly dislike how pitifully easy it is to get a night vision upgrade and completely nullify a main game mechanic by day 2. Wortox, I love his soul gimmick with the healing and the teleportation, however I don’t much care for how much he’s basically just Wilson but flavored differently with how inconsequential his downsides are.
I just wanna say how much its apreciated that you use Wx's correct pronouns. most other DST youtubers dont, and it really sucks as a nonbinary person. so thank you for using they them for wx!
also, woodie is D tier because literally anyone (exept webby boi, Hyuyu man (wortox) and wurt) can just ensla- i mean hire pigmen to do the work for you
Woodie's only worse at working than a school of Merms or Maxwell's interns. He vastly outspeeds everyone else's work output, and requires less management/resources than pigs do (and works through the night). He's also able to solo every non-planar boss right out of spawn due to Weremoose (on top of being the fastest mob farmer and trivializing all non-boss enemies), and is overwhelmingly the fastest mapper with Weregoose (and can secure rock fruits/kelp by day 2 which ensures food forever right at the start of the game). He even secures living logs on-demand with a tiny bit of effort, which is a niche only Wormwood competes with (and the treeguard have a multitude of other uses if you're creative enough). Woodie's great and heavily versatile.
personally my least favorite thing about Wolfgang is that he is blatantly op, but in a boring way. unlike any other character high level wolfgang play is just holding f and the boss dies before they even get to attack once. there is no cool tech or high skill ceiling for Wolfgang, he is just Wilson with giga boosted stats.
Wurt main detected. Opinion rejected.
@@BiddoBamssskill tree?
How do Merms work in the cave? I haven't unlocked Wurt yet.
My least favourite thing is tick dmg like fire or cold being so damming for her health system
My least favourite thing about him, is actually the beard too
His beard actually becomes such a hassle during summer and hot places such as dragonfly biome, and since it grows pretty quickly you have to keep on shaving or else you'l have to endure it, it doesn't help that his two beard related skill tree perks only make this problem worse.
Tbh I’ve never played Wilson, but I never bothered to use anything besides thermal stone for winter early on. After I get tam o shanter I sometimes use it, but mostly my tactic is the same:
One thermal stone, one torch. Just fire up a tree and fully charge yourself with warm.
my least favourite thing about wanda is honestly her dialogue, its just time puns and time related, i really wish we got more of an actual personality
Inspect the captains tricorn as her
Ok about willow, as a Willow main, i know her downside can be neglected BUT, EXACTLY BCS oF THAT ITS DANGEROUS.
Jesus christ i wrote a lot. Sorgy, i just wanted to talk about my beloved main i love her
I know this is far from the point, but Willow needing to pack things to burn is delightfully in character
Walter def needs his skilltree the most, I adore him but I always feel useless trying to fight monsters unless I was able to gather a bunch of marble beforehand(which is unfortunately based on terrain generation,,,) or having big woby where you can easily run away if they get too close :)
I agree on the sleeping tent, great source of healing and sanity buff when I bite off more than I can chew on something, but big woby is my favorite. It's basically a free early game beefalo, and I always make it a priority to gather enough monster meat to explore the map!! Woby my beloved
Drains the life energy from Woby
@@BiddoBamss making woby chug a monster meat smoothie down her gullet so she becomes my new car ride
I really like Wickerbottom's personality. She's kind of a cranky old lady, very scientifically-minded but sometimes she shares her opinion on stuff like food, and her quotes indicate she has a love for a lot of animals.
Cranky, but still gets along with everyone :)
Thanks Daan
I just wanna say as a Willow main that freezing does come up more often that you’d think, it’s there to punish you for any slip up in winter/spring

Marble Bean: Am I a joke to you?
Oh no, I mean _harvesting_ marble :) He can get lots of it with beans, he just has to sluggishly mine it. Whereas Wolfgang can mine them instantly, Wurt can chop them with merms, Woodie can chomp them and so on! I just wish he could get marble faster in a sense like that :D
@@BiddoBamssexplosive round would be nice
Winona MAIN here. OMG SHE HAS NO GOOD SKINS. The ONE skin I like is swashbuckler and thats because im a lesbian
My personal favorite thing about walter is his sanity drain when getting damaged lol :)
Most realisitic feature of the entire game right there...
How to buff Walter: give him a 12 gauge shotgun
@@BiddoBamss OOOOH there should be a reload time rather than a downtime after his shots too!
Least favorite thing for Wurt is gotta be that he cant bring merms in the caves unless he builds houses in the caves
OH THAT TOO YEP Totally forgot about that. I guess it's so you can't just steamroll cave content with your surface army but man,,,,
*she
Don’t worry, that’s what rock lobsters are for
As a Warley main, I will not accept this slander! 😂
Few reasons why I like him:
To be fair, I used to avoid playing him. But when I saw how Jazzy used him, I can't stop playing him ever since 😂
Oh no I absolutely agree with you!
10:48 WINONA'S GORGE SKIN LITERALLY GOES HARD????????
Based and rookpilled.
Also, I believe that a maxed-out torch is about as good as a lantern because you can also light trees to save durability and warm up but hey that's just my opinion
my favorite part about maxwell is definitely his ability to read her books, i love playing wicker then switching to maxwell
Next video we get a favourite / least favourite skin 😂

MY favourite thing about Wigfrid is that she gains HP and sanity when wacking stuff (poor chester)
VIOLENCE
I never thought of it that way :)
Oooh gosh I forgot all about the whole spiders not working cross shard (unless you grab them all). Merms suffer from the same issues!
The problem with merms is that you can't even grab them! you have to take the entire house with you!
And the king doesn't work cross shard too...
Wurt cave base only challenge?
@@vorobeyinthebox The King's properly global now with the update later this week, so there's that at least.
My favorite for woodie is definitely the moose form and how it trivializes a lot of boss fights, not to mention that you can cheese a lot of bosses with enough treeguards
Absolutely. A _nearly_ free (monster meat and grass) combat kit you can slam out whenever a risk arises is beyond useful!
personal favorite thing about wanda has to be the risk-reward playstyle with clocks and shadow items being more effective, makes me have to get better at kiting or timing. least favorite however has to be the near reliance on the ruins, it makes sense but i do not like rushing the ruins.
4:14 my favorite thing aboot woodie is collecting wood too
mmm.. wood...
Wilson mains are actually good in Don’t starve together
Absolutely. Please, I require flint...
Where base. Can I have flint and thermal stone plz also where gloomer why he not at base
(she's probably the only genuinely broken character of the main cast)
Warly: I have no real opinion aside from never having liked much of shipwrecked or its characters beyond their designs.
I appreciate the transition from ragtime to Max's segment!
Hehe, thank you :)
my least favorite thing about willow is that if you farm spiders for embers you keep getting cooked monster meat which has less uses than normal monster meat and can't be shoved in the salt box for later
Feed it to your local Wanda main xd
That turned out to be longer than expected, but it was fun writing it
What I kind of found odd is that for some characters, like Webber, the best thing about them was their resource collection capabilities.
I think a really cool idea for wes is have his trees make him slowly become better then by the end hes slightly better thsn most characters so he feels like a slow start for a big pay off except mske his tree reset everytime you start a new world so you cant have him at max
winona industrial facemask skin is S tier
honestly, i think walter is fine as it is. once you get a big enough marble forest set up you don't gotta worry about a thing. what i actually think is pretty annoying about him is how woby behaves. once i get into combat and forget to get something from woby the dawg makes it impossible to get it. also bucks you off when ya get hit which means ya only gonna ride woby when you're exploring.
one more thing - why does he have to be alergic to bees😭 bee queen was a war of bunnymen.
but yea, i play walter pretty much exlusively, and his ammo never really bothered me. then again i also mostly play to just survive, no rush or anything. main world has 900 days and i still haven't properly been to the ruins. i guess it' subjective.
I hope Wes gets a taunt ability if he gets a skill tree, like being able to pull aggro from mobs seems fitting for his character
8:44 To be fair, it's not just a "basic damage increase to an alignment," it gives her a SONG that increases the damage for ALL of your allies (and also gives them some defense against the opposite alignment too!)
For Wurt, my favorite character, I agree with you completely.
I consider the Winona Victorian skin one of the best skins in the entire game right next to snow webber and triumphant wes
My lest favorite thing abaut webber is his dissapearing spiders glitch
I've never heard of that glitch o.O what's that all about?
@@BiddoBamss when you roll back or disconnect to serwer during day time all frendly spiders dissapear, to avoid this glitch you need to save when holding frendly spider in inventory this spider will be immortal to this glitch (also works if you change or destroy spider den that this spider come from) this happend because game after rollback set those spider to thier dens again and they forgot abaut you
This is so annoying and happen very often to me but no one talk abaut that
I haven't played the game in a while and your videos got me hooked on the game again!, so thanks :)

I actually really love this idea!!
I'll tell you about the ones I've been playing for the most lately:
My favorite thing about Woodlegs is its treasures, you get a huge amount of different resources that you often don't usually use because of their rarity.
You should have changed the title to "My *Favorite* And Least *Favourite* Things About Every Survivor! [Don't Starve Together]"
Delightfully devilish....
Yay! A fully up-to-date character breakdown!
Yippie!
Just going to say it because nobody else seems to say it. YOUR VIDEOS ARE PEAK!
Thank you SO MUCH RUHGHGHH
@@BiddoBamss I’m really happy with how the Wurt and Winona skill trees came out. I’ll be HYPED when Wortox gets his!
My favorite thing about winona: hotlights and telepad
My least favorite thing about winona: after playing with hot lights and telepads I never want to even touch other characters because it means I have no hotlights and telepads.
Wilson being able to make an iridescent gem allows me to skip the moon stone
Oh also why use Wendy when Willow is just Wendy but 1000 times better??? I hope when Wendy gets her skill tree she gets more late game potential
@@YourLocalGamer_YLG
Yeah I agree.
Love your vids. There's not enough good DST lore speculation out there.
I know this one isn't really lore but I still enjoyed it.
Hey, I just wanted to comment my appreciation that you used WX-78’s correct pronouns! I know they are “just a video game character” but it still is annoying to see so many creators blatantly misgendering them. Also I think a video where you talk about your favorite and least favorite skins would be cool!
Of course! It costs nothing and is worth a lot to use correct pronouns :) And I'd love to do a video like this for skins! :D
I'm still relatively new to the game, but I have solidly selected WX-78 as my main
The thing I love most is how incredibly powerful and even unstoppable you can become very quickly with the right circuits, especially the speed circuits. They're the best in my opinion
My least favourite thing is that they are very luck dependent.
My favorite thing about wormwood would be that he can plant seeds anywhere
I always forget about that :)
for warly, wait for his skilltree, he will become goated
my favorite thing about Wormwood is the fact I don't need a hoe to plant crops which leads to massive harvests, least favorite thing is that I have short memory and need to keep a plant per season guide on hand.
As a Wanda player I can agree that my inventory is filled with clocks
Don't have time for all this... time,,,
for maxwell's book reading skills, i would agree but he has a far greater sanity penalty than wickerbottom when reading them so he does have a downside for dabbling in her library so she isn't completely out of the picture
Yeah I suppose :) Getting your sanity back up with Maxwell is way easier than Wickerbottom, so it kinda balances out in way!
and for wigfrid's beefalo tree, i don't think it's ALL bad... it does incentivize you to actually ride a beefalo because as you said she's one of the few characters that don't need to tame a beefalo other than for story progression (plus it's like old valkyries riding horses or something)
Yapping license: instated. Thanks boss!!
@@BiddoBamss /joy
Fav Thing about Wicker: how much Utility she has with her books, and being able to deal with the most BS Boss in the Game(Bee Queen), least favorite is the fact that some books aren't very useful and that there isn't an Ice Pen or more Pens
Fav Thing About Wurt: Also Alot of Utility like the Sunfish and Icebream, the 33% From Non-Meat Foods, Merms and so on, what i dislike about her is more of a gripe with the bosses having no limit on how much targets they can AOE on
BONUS
Beefalo: High Reward, and can cover other characters weakness like Wendy(If you know you know), least favorite is that we need more unique saddles that are actually good and not a joke like the Battle Saddle we got from Wig Skill Tree, maybe add Shadow and Lunar Saddle for Planar Damage and Resistance, also Klei need to make Beefalo get knockbacked from the new Bosses instead of only dismouting you.
I love this new biddobams video format
Thank you!! It's so fun to work on :)
My Favourite : Wigfrid (Survival at finest) ,WX 78 (Ruins Rush Enjoyer) , Wendy : (Mob Killer Enjoyer)
Sometimes I play as him just because I wanna play as Wortox :) No matter what he can do
As a wilson main, beefalo.

What would some of the Survivors do, if they aver escaped the Constant? 🤔
A long, cold shower. But that would be a cool thing to explore in a theory video :o
honestly my favorite part about willow is her dialogue, i find her very funny and charming :) i dont find myself interacting with things much as other characters, but i always want to know what willow has to say.
i was right, this IS a good video. also makes me want to play WX again.
I suppose I’ll also give my “Favorite and Least Favorite” list but I’ll just do it for characters I actually play
Wilson is nice mostly just because he’s the default.
You poor, poor people!)
WX-78, I ADORE how customizable he is as it makes you feel like you’re building your own character.
Excellent points :)
My favorite thing about Willow is Bernie. He is my tanky Abigail
SAME! I love how you can spec into Bernie too, and have this ruins-destorying behemoth on your side :) Works really well against bosses, too!
I just wanna say how much its apreciated that you use Wx's correct pronouns. most other DST youtubers dont, and it really sucks as a nonbinary person. so thank you for using they them for wx!
also, woodie is D tier because literally anyone (exept webby boi, Hyuyu man (wortox) and wurt) can just ensla- i mean hire pigmen to do the work for you
Counterpoint: Pigmen are terrible workers. Scared of the dark, require meat, -and ugly, smelly, and inferior to merms in every single way GRRRR-
Woodie's only worse at working than a school of Merms or Maxwell's interns. Woodie's great and heavily versatile.
personally my least favorite thing about Wolfgang is that he is blatantly op, but in a boring way. unlike any other character high level wolfgang play is just holding f and the boss dies before they even get to attack once. there is no cool tech or high skill ceiling for Wolfgang, he is just Wilson with giga boosted stats.
wigfrid insight tree is great
at last maxwell loses more sanitary
Wormwoods downside is them being attractive to the buzzy bois
he can't help themselves...
