    Thank you for showing this video. Now I just need to find a bobbin and shuttle like that so I can sew with my machine.

      There are small differences in the bobbin shuttle with each model machine. If you try to use the wrong one it won't work. So make sure you do your search with the correct make, model and year of your machine! Good luck!

      I find many of my parts on Ebay, or by doing a search on Google. There are small differences in the bobbin shuttle with each model machine. If you try to use the wrong one it won't work. You can find the correct make/model/yr of your machine by looking at the serial number chart on ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html Good luck!

    I have always wondered how to remove the shuttle on this style of machine. I sew with Singers 28k and 127. Thank you for posting this video.

    Thank you so much for this. I took my singer 127 to a repair shop in my home town and he said he wouldn't work on it because of the shuttle bobbin he had no experience using. I'll take it somewhere in the bigger town over to see if they will service it

      Your Singer 127 is very much like the Singer VS2. The shuttle bobbin is a bit different than the one in the Frister & Rossman video. Check out my VS2 video for some useful information that you can use on your machine. Good luck! ua-cam.com/video/sug69sYIIp8/v-deo.html and this one as well! ua-cam.com/video/EGRlXhc7Erk/v-deo.html

    Could you tell me what needle I need for my 1894 Frister and Rossman transverse? Is it a #9 and what is that in today's needles. Thanks Sean🧵

    My husband is refurbishing a 1928 Singer model 127 machine for me and we cannot find the replacement tire or wheel for bobbin winding. We're finding lot's of replacement tires for like every model...for most every model except the 127. Do you have any suggestions that may help? Website? Interchangeable models? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

      The Singer model 127 would have interchangeable bobbin winding parts with the 27 and 28 and 128 and VS2. I find a lot of my parts on Ebay, or I have also had a lot of luck with Sewing Machines Plus.com - as a matter of fact, it looks like they have exactly what you are looking for at this time. Another excellent video on a great sewing machine. Someone gave me this same model, it was all rusted out but I managed to get it all cleaned up and running except (it came with no boat shuttle) bummer, any way I have searched long and hard, even overseas there is one website in United kingdom but they don't appear to answer my call.
    Yes, I know you can find them here in the USA but sometimes the photos are not clear to see if they fit my machine, but also they want as much as the machine is worth. Do you by chance have leads as to where one can get one?
    Thanks for your time on this video

      You could try Mike Anderson at Wolfgang collectibles. He has a facebook page and is located in Brookfield NH. USA Make sure to mention that you need the shuttle for a Singer VS2 machine. ;) Here is his fb link: facebook.com/wolfegangscollectibles

    You can sew and have a bobbin winding at the same time?! How does one accomplish this?

    • @TheMasquerade
      @TheMasquerade  4 роки тому +1

      This machine has 2 spool pins on the top of the machine and separate tension discs - one for sewing and one for winding a bobbin. If you put a spool of thread on each pin, then you can use one to thread through the sewing tension disc and the needle on the machine to sew with and then you can thread the other through the bobbin winding tension disc and over to the bobbin winder. When you click the bobbin winder into place to engage the mechanism against the wheel, it will spin and wind the bobbin while the wheel is turning when you are sewing! Not all machines have 2 spool pins or separate tension discs to do this. I love this machine!

      that's fabulous! I have two very similar Wertheim machines, with two spool pins and what looks like another little thread loop/tension thing... So possibly I could do the same. I love discovering new things like this about these machines. Thank you for explaining it!

    It`s possible that it was that model which used for made three hot air balloon for escape from DDR. "The sewing machine used by the Strelzyk family to sew Europe's largest hot air balloon" search give a link. It must be very reliable machine.

      Sorry you are missing the bobbin shuttle and bobbin! My machine came with only 2 bobbins and the 1 shuttle. I use both bobbins - as I am threading one while using the other - so no extras here. You can try searching for parts on Ebay. That's where I find alot of parts for my antique machines. Search by using the name, model and year of the machine. Good luck!
