Hi there, did you ever find out what type of needles this machine takes? I just got a 1913 F&R machine and unfortunately the needle is bent!

I have an identical machine and the threading shown to me by my mum is identical to the way you show. She is not with us now to help me adjust the tension so hopefully you can! I remember the method of setting the needle is to turn the handle until the horizontal scored line on the vertical guide is exactly at the top of the black casting, then adjust the needle position in the clamp so that the centre of the eye is level with the chrome plate. But my machine is not reliably picking up the lower thread and it misses lots of stitches. I may well also have a problem with the bobbin tension, the needle tension and the foot pressure as I having been adjusting them to try and jet it to work properly. Do you have a procedure for setting this up please?
Thanks for posting and I hope you can help.

can you help me. I have a F&R sewing machine from about 1890, but I need a long bobbin boat shuttle an a bobbine.
Do you have an idea where I can get that?
    Best wishes
