Whoa...this was pretty damn good. A story of redemption and self-acceptance, letting go of grief, learning from experience, and realizing that the Force is about balance, not one side dominating the other. It was all done with a pretty minimalist approach, and I appreciate that. The dialogue felt natural, not forced or cheesy, and the effects were pretty solid.
The Grey Jedis are truly the true user of the force because the Force was supposed to be balance. There are no such things as Dark or Light while using the force. In other words, the true users of the Force walks forever between the fine edges of darkness and light. That is what the force is. Balance.
I used to be a sith until I realized everyone was wrong balance is needed we need the dark and the light for without one the other doesn't exist so i strike down whoever doesn't seek true balance ill shall teach them or end them
Then you think all force users should take no action and simply let the Force will itself? Otherwise, your pinnacle of the Force user is just a bipolar hypocrite with no logic lol.
Grey Jedi is cool but it's not the way Force works in canon. The dark side corrupts whoever touches it. You are either a light sider, a dark sider, or a light sider being corrupt.
I've always been mesmerized by the Grey Jedi, which most every day fans don't seem to know about. Thanks for putting this together for me to spread the Grey Love & Power. :)
Then you think all force users should take no action and simply let the Force will itself? Otherwise, your mesmerized by a Force user who's just a bipolar hypocrite with no logic lol.
I think they should just be called The Grey. To add Jedi to The Grey, makes it seem like it as an off shoot or branch of the Jedi Order. The Grey should stand apart in my opinion and would be accepting of both former Jedi or former Sith that come to the revelation that The Force is balance and to find harmony in one's self is to find the balance of The Force.
the term jedi was often used outside of the jedi order used to describe people who were force sensitive but adept with their abilities. just like the term dark jedi. they aren't jedi but we call them dark jedi. hopefully that clears that up.
Grey Jedi arent technically a real thing, but I've seen offshoots of grey Sith too. Basically grey jedi use both but are predominantly "good", while grey Sith use both but are predominantly "evil"
I massively admire the work, effort and skill that goes into making these things- who would have thought back in the 70's and 80's that fans would be making stuff like this 40 years later? I'm a low tech guy with no idea how to make films and do all this fancy computer stuff so my respect is total. Only thing I would say about this one is that the opening crawl is far too wordy, However, thank you, and thanks to all of you fans who make these great videos.
This is a masterpiece my good sir... it left shivers down my spine it was that intense and suspenseful and like many other people had said in the comments, people like you should be given a chance to work on something like this for a real movie because by the looks of this, you know what you are doing and it makes me mad that you don’t get any chance on something like this
If I'm beung honest, a true Grey Jed'iah would use only a white lightsaber. (As white represents the purest form of the Force.) On a side note; if this guy was a temple guard who left his post to pursue the sith, he would either have left behind the helmet/mask as he was no longer a guard. Or he would be using a yellow saber staff, as that was the default weapon of the guards. Other than these points this was an excellent film. Really loved the dialogue and the action sequences were really good (if a little hard to see what was happening in the dark).
Happy 2020 from The Mr. Pete Channel! The ones who walks between light and dark is really xistend I have some skills you’re mind blow out! Mr Grey isn’t a fictive figure be open minded for the day the lines getting crossed
I thought the same thing. Disney seems to hate Jedis. What's the point without it?? It's just generic space junk. People were saying George Lucas ruined Star Wars, well they got worse because Disney Truly ruined Star Wars.
I agree with him, on all of his points. And also, the story and dialogue are well written. However, one tiny critique: the lightsaber battle could have had more work done on the blade effects, they look a bit like only the ForceFX saber blades. But that's the only critique (I actually don't like critiquing), besides that it's Really well done. I would say, Forcensational!!
Me too, I just love the idea the Grey Jedi represent. I respect the Grey Jedi more than I do Jedi and Sith alike and they haven't even been introduced into the movie franchise.
MEGAdudes36 yeah I know but Daivos lost his temple guard lightsaber when he leaves the Temple to join the republic during the war, then he makes an other lightsaber with blue crystal, like the jedi guardians :)
MEGAdudes36 because when a Jedi leaves the temple facing the council he has to leave his temple lightsaber (the gold). The crystal that you choose is reflecting what you are, he is a guardian for his sister, for what he became, so blue is the right colour for him now.
This makes me think how full of potential the sequels could have been. I mean, the sith order was in tatters, and the jedi order was as good as gone. It could have told the stoy of force sensitives somehow finding each other and forming groups of their own, seperate from past ideologies. Some may try to imitate the legends of old, the jedi order. Others may find a balance, and others may be seduced to the dark side. This could have been the pillar of the movies/story while being paralleled by the fractuous state of the galaxy right? The first order (empire remnants), The new Republic in its infancy, other systems and poltical entities going sovereign. SOOO MUCH POTENTIAL. But instead, they just go for exactly the same!!!! This video gives me a breath of what, if disney have gone this route, could have been. Thank you for making it! :)
This raised hairs on me, why can't Disney hire ppl like this, hiring big names and rookies who can even handle dialogue just angers me, makes me wonder...
I really enjoyed this and I like the philosophy of the grey jedi, but still find the highest truth in the way of the Jedi. To nurture the currents of life, to see it flourish, to seek the highest wisdom in serenity. One who can be provoked is one who can be controlled. Self control is the only true control we can possess.
This is why my main Star Wars character I have is a Grey Jedi…they understand the differences between cults that either kidnap children in the pursuit of “the light”, and an order that puts anyone and everyone down in the pursuit of power. They understand that darkness must be used to bring light and order, but also understand that the light must be kept to a minimum for the balance to work.
Fantastic work! The fight scenes were fluid, the shots were dynamic, and you really felt for the character! Would love to see more of Daivos Koran-gär!
justin Forgione Thank you again for your support ! I want to do an other episode, better and longer, but for that I need a real production budget ! I think I will do a crowdfunding as soon as possible !
AMAZING film!!! Beautiful film locations!! Killer use of light, darkness and shadows. Showed depth visually and with emotion!! I just really enjoyed watching the story!! Thank you!!!
Flowing through all, there is balance There is no peace without a passion to createThere is no passion without peace to guideKnowledge fades without the strength to actPower blinds without the serenity to see There is freedom in lifeThere is purpose in death The Force is all things and I am the Force
That was very touching and it have you thinking when he said there is no light without the dark wow such a simple phrase but so much meaning and feeling ✌🏾 loved it
Canon or not, I rather like the concept. Humans at least, are creatures of internal conflict. Forever fighting our base instincts of anger and violence in favour of higher concepts like peace and compassion. Rather than fighting ourselves a grey Jedi learns peace within, understanding their emotions through acceptance rather than repression (light side), or embracement (dark side). Jedi are blinded to the dark side in the same way they're blinded to their own emotions. And Sith will always lead to conflict and implosion as unrestrained emotions tend to do. Grey Jedi find balance within themselves and the world around them. Never seeing emotions as wrong nor embracing them with wanton abandon. Repression will always lead to rebellion (light to dark), and anarchy will always lead to destruction and the desire for control (dark to light). Thus the Jedi and Sith will remain in conflict so long as both exist.
These great fan films keep surprising me. When you think you have seen it all then this one pops up you go holy shit now I have seen everything. Great film this is really is amazing.
This was very well done and the best fan film i have seen. Though the story was not very clear it was still brilliant and gave me shivers. Very well done you should be very proud
I loved it, in my opinion the Gray Jedi seem to be the most powerful being able to use the Light side as well as the Dark side of the Force at the same time
So...not bad! Definitely not bad. The story didn’t really have a climax though. I see that he had his own struggles through (I’m assuming) the loss of his daughter, and him rejecting the Jedi Order, but it didn’t really get to a high enough peak. Also for a story that didn’t have a high build nor have enough plot points, the opening crawl was very excessive. I read it but I feel like it was too long for a story that was too short. But besides that, I really admired the quality and effort that was put forth. Good job.
Praxis Visuals Thank you for your feedback ! Yes we know about this aspect, the film is short, to short regarding the prologue to develop a real build. So we wanted to show some of the “warrior way”, the grey Jedi is a perfect metaphor of the Human, nor all black nor all white, just fighting to save what is really important for him. With no money we can’t make it longer, so that’s why we wanted to show you a “long introduction”. We hope some of the viewers will help us to fund an other episode longer and better in term of story build ! :) I hope you enjoyed the quality of the music, sound, pictures & vfx !
Praxis Visuals Couldnt it be a question of personality? The Skywalkers are a ridiculously stubborn tribe, so it makes sense they resist balance to some degree. He lost his job, religion, family--this is the stuff philosophy is made of. Just ask the stoics!
If you paid attention to the scroll down your would know the little girl was his little sister. Jedi are not allowed to have attachments. No spouse, no children.
Technically speaking the only Grey Jedi in existence was Revan, both an insanely powerful sith lord and jedi, he turned his back on the sith after having an injury causing him memory loss, when he was given the opportunity to rejoin he refused and fell in love with Bastila.
Really good work! I've always played with the idéa of a grey Jedi! but more in a bounty hunter style of a character. That serves both sides depending on the money. Wielding a white coloured lightsaber with a touch of grey. Loved this Though!
Just wanna throw this out there: I have a theory that at the end of the next Star Wars movie, Rey and Kilo Ren/Ben Solo are gonna become Grey Jedi. Just a thought, 'cuz Luke Skywalker was "The Last Jedi" meaning Rey never became one and Kilo wasn't a full fledged Sith. So to me it only makes sense that they both go Grey.
Elizabeth Argo They are already grey, they have to be more closer of humanity, and for the children they have to know that there is a good and evil side in each personne, it’s only choices during life. The time of bad evil character facing the light perfect super hero is over in Star Wars.
WrathandFlame 14 thank you for your feedback ! We are thinking about this yeah but we need some money to make an other longer episode ! I hope some of the viewers and fans will help us to make it true !
beautiful work I must say, I liked the sound of the voice, the light, the decor and the costumes, I liked the ease of the unfolding of the images less ... but what is good and which balances everything , it's the right choice of music ..... good luck to the whole team and happy new year 2020!
We just made a Star wars fan film in the Canary Islands! With a tiny crew and little experience: DESERTION OF THE JEDI. Original is in spanish so thats why the audio in english is weird and doesnt match lips

There is no center line you get to stand on, your resistance is futile! Join the dark side and feel the power!!!
In my opinion, a grey jedi is the pinnacle of what a force user should be, great video and awesome use of the grey jedi code there, well done

One of these days I want to see a grey Jedi use both a red and blue light saber to fully express the balance between the two sides.
Or maybe a purple one, since mixing red and blue gives you purple. Like it could be a backup or staff Sabre
Or use white and darksaber.

I love the video and even more the soundtrack music!! Wish there was a CD of it!!
That is amazing!
justin Forgione Thank you !!
Absolutely gorgeous. Well done!
Christopher Ouellette Thank you !
That was truly amazing I hope you are planning to make a continuation of this. Either way keep up the good work and may the force be with you;)
WrathandFlame 14 thank you for your feedback !
Wow.. just, just wow. Why can’t Disney be like this!? This is by far better than the prequels, especially “the last Jedi”. Like if you agree

I am thoroughly impressed!
We just made a Star wars fan film in the Canary Islands! With a tiny crew and little experience: DESERTION OF THE JEDI. Original is in spanish so thats why the audio in english is weird and doesnt match lips
Aydan Zeb Woodward I will see your film !
