In this video I’m showing the process of working on a portrait that's 11 x 14 inches, oil on wood.
I usually tone the panel (or canvas) grey but this time I decided to leave it plain white, to see how it impacts the process and/or the final result.

I took a break from social media to focus on some life stuff. But I'm glad to be back here. Hey everyone!!! ✨
Also, I put the full real-time painting video of this portrait on my Patreon page! (link in description)
❤️
It's fun to see another painter that has a similar technique for portraits! Thanks I enjoy watching your videos :D
You are super genius!
Its has been a long time to see your art...Good to know you're back.
So glad to see your incredible paintings again...i admire your work and follow it...
I love seeing when the paint goes on it looks too dark and just wrong and then transforms . So beautiful, you are so talented !
You are truly one of my biggest inspirations for oil painting, you work is mesmerizing
Aw that’s so nice of you to say, thank you ♡
its really amazing how dark the values around the eyes looked at first compared to at the end of the painting :0 color mixing is such an interesting process
Yes, so true! The values look especially dark in the beginning also because I didn’t tone my panel this time and we look the colors in contrast to the plain white surface which makes them seem even darker. So yeah, it’s interesting how this works :)
I love how Daria work now has more texture and depth bringing more life to her paintings. She has phenomenal and inspiring talent!
I was waiting patiently for this.
Amazing work!!!

You are my favorite modern painter.
Finally!! Missed you! Been sending good vibes 🎉🎉
Thank you! 😊
Wow as always. Love your work. Always learn so much from even the 3 min demos. Encouraging tonight as I’m finally finishing a portrait I’ve struggled with. Feel like giving up but I watch this and think no, I want to keep at it to paint ( hopefully one day)like that. 😊
Thank you, Betty 💛 Yes, keep at it!
Welcome back! I missed your art.

What a talent, wonderful congratulations!🤔😉
Thank you!
Sei di una bravura e di un talento strepitosi
C'est extraordinaire....
Magnificent... 🤍🎨🙏🏽
its like a gift
You have the most chaotic approach to painting that I ever saw. I can't figure out how you make the paint blend when you are jumping all over the canvas. Your mastery of color must be extraordinary.
I don't really paint that alot... But now after looking at you i am hella motivated to try it! The painting was soo pretty!!
That’s awesome! :)
Nice❤❤
❤️❤️
Very nice 👌
Your videos are often super sped up. But I’d be willing to watch an hour-long full process of it complete with the part where you mix your colors in the beginning (my favorite part).
Complimenti sei bravissima.
I'm so happy you're back. Do you have any tips on reference photos (how do you take them and edit them?) I've been wanting to take my art career to the next level but the lack of references has made it really difficult because it limits the type of art I can create.
Oh, I actually just made a post about it on my Patreon yesterday.
I do recommend taking your own reference photos, that’s what I do for many of my bigger paintings. When I look for photos online I always make sure they are of good quality, clear, taken in good lighting, preferably don’t have any filters applied or photoshoped colors (I want natural-looking colors). And lastly I want it to be interesting so I could develop some idea or a meaning behind it..
But in my opinion, nothing is as good as taking your own references. I usually use my DSLR camera (but most phones can shoot in high quality now so I use my iPhone sometimes too)
Lighting is very important! The photo should be shot in good lighting (or you can even create some interesting effects using light, it can be more dramatic, with distinct shadows, or more soft..) I often use soft-boxes to add lighting, but there is nothing like natural daylight for this purpose.
Once I have the photo I’d like to work with, I do some editing on my laptop. Sometimes I think of the idea behind it, or the colors I want to use, the size of the painting, how I want to crop it, etc.
Hope this helps!

Welcome back, I have started painting after watching yours and Scott videos your work is amazing. Thank you for sharing your work.
Do you use medium?
That’s awesome! Scott Waddell is great!
Yes, I use linseed oil as medium.
superbe.
♥
Amazing! how do you often clean your brushes in-between the art process?
Thanks! Generally I don't wash my brushes while working on a portrait; I wipe some paint off with a paper towel, dip them in linseed oil and leave this way (wet) until the next painting session. I do wash them when I plan to take a longer break or after finishing a painting, of course. I clean them gently with soap and warm water, I don’t use any solvents.
Hope this answers your question ♡

I can't believe
Genial
Супер👍👍👍
Oh I know! it's from a scene in the movie "The Place Beyond the Pines" no wonder it looked so familiar, I watched that movie a few weeks ago😅
好久不见~
he looks just like my brother bro 😀😀 l8ke fr
Is that Dane Dehaan? it resembles him a lot
May I ask How long it takes you to finish?
Pls skin tone tutorial 🥺🙏
Наивысшая точка
I want to draw like you. Your drawings are awesome.
I have UA-cam channel like you
The difficult part of visualized 3D characters is often the eyes. 3D character creators should learn from you how to paint an eye.
Thank you! This is flattering
He looks like Dane deehan...from the amazing spider man (goblin).
I wish I could paint like this but unfortunately I am anime artist from childhood :(
To many time-lapse Videos how does one learn from these? I prefer a explanation like Sergey or Yupari there you learn and can support on Patreon
I honestly think you should just stop at the face and leave it as a rough cut, there’s something about it when I see it transform into the full image it loses all its value for me it’s almost like seeing the transformation is so magical that I like seeing it come out of the background but then when finished it looks like a somewhat blurry picture and I question the meaning of it being made
Hi Niko, I know what you mean, I thought of it too
такое впечатление, что художник применяет один и тот же фильтр фотошопа. Все портреты одинакового цвета. у каждого человека свой цвет лица, а так не бывает.
