Tyson was a legend plain and simple. Lets remember him for what he gave us. His vocals at the start of sksk weren't phenominal but by 2008-2010 he was in his prime live. The use of heroin after that lead to a steady decline. I cannot blame him. If I was in a band that big and ran with some rock stars, heroin and whatever else, was probably around every corner. A artists soul rarely feels fulfilled despite making perfection such as SKSK's albums. I have came back to this video for years and I still miss him. I feel sorry for the people who surrounded him and let him fall. RIP Tyson, we love you. We know you are still doing big things up there.

Personally, I think the heroin use fucked up his vocals, but I love his music too much to not appreciate it still. RIP Tyson

Actually saw him them twice live. He didn't sound so great each time, and both were greatly separated by time. The first time near the beginning of their career an the last time during their final and last tour. Still loved and supported them, though. People have to remember that it's not always about the singer, and even then, their voice boxes do better in different situations. It's a shame, though. Their break up half a decade ago, and the lead man's passing away about a year or two ago. :\

I think he can sing but honestly most early 00's bands never had training nor try to approach the song in a different style.

The guy can sing, you can tell there's moments in the songs were his vocals match the tune. I think he's out of his vocal range and should lower one step to help him.

He was a great singer. I would say he was somewhere between a mid and low tenor leading towards a mid tenor. Tyson was an underrated screamer as well.

He def. was. I've tried to sing some SKSK songs and they are not easy. There are notes I can't hit on my best days let alone live. If they were down tuned even half a step it would have helped a lot. I just don't know if that would have complicated things with the keyboard parts and everything though.

People saying he just wasn’t good live... I mean I absolutely love these guys, but the use of melodyne on their last album told a bigger story. Melodyne is an intensive vocal correcting program, and it works really well, but causes the vocals to sound like they’re singing through a fan. Moderate use can be covered up, but it’s clean the leaned so hard on it. Maybe his voice was damaged by the drugs, maybe he was trying to expand his range, I’m not sure. Just very tragic in the end.

He needed to play in his range. It would had helped if the guitarists would detune their guitars.

For the people bitching, he was in Australian climate, which definitely affects the voice of a singer. Tyson was great live, his voice just wasnt atoned to the Australian climate.

Is that why they loaded up the melodyne on their last album? Face it, something down the line shredded his voice. It sucks but it happens.
