I just discovered the ResMed AirFit N30 Mask, using the cushion. I tried 8 different mask and finally this one I can sleep on my side with no leaks or hardware in the way. I have a really small sensitive nose and this cushion in Small fits perfectly. It almost feels like I'm wearing nothing. No more leaks, sore nose or mask marks on my cheeks. Thank you for sharing all about this mask! You're the man!

How often do you change the nose cushion for the N30? How will I know when to swap it out for a new one? Thanks for any help!

    • @DuzeeDesigns
      @DuzeeDesigns 3 місяці тому

@@jennymccrary1840 I have a set of seven nose cushions and change it our every night. I wash my mask, hose, water chamber and nose cushions every Sunday. Living in Florida you have to stay on top of cleaning or can easily get mold from all the humidity in the air. Also with this type of mask I use a Velcro strap with clip on the hose close to the attachment of the mask to clip onto my top shirt, to help hose from pulling downward on the mask, keeping the nose cushion nice and snug and in place.

Hi, I’m new to this sleep apnea thing and I don’t know anything about how the mask works. I should receive my machine in a few days. What do you all think would be the best for me? I’m a back and side sleeper, mostly sleep on the right side and I don’t know if I can tolerate having a big mask on all night! I do have to get up several times in the night to go potty. So I want the best but also the least complicated. Any and all advice is appreciated, thank you 😊

Thank you so much for this video. Last night was my first night using a CPAP machine. When I had my sleep study completed last month, they gave me the N30 to try. When I received my ResMed machine this week, the supplier sent me the P10.
Although I have not tried sleeping with the P10 yet, it does seem that the cushion of the N30 is more comfortable which is why I decided to try it for my first night. I thought the squishy cradle of the N30 was pretty comfortable and I didn't have any leaks around my nose. By the way, my air pressure is about 10.
During my CPAP Zoom training with my Respiratory Therapist this week mentioned, he did not mention the diffuser in the front of the mask to me so last night when I felt air coming out of the front of the N30 where the tubing attaches, I was worried that I had a leak. Glad to know after watching your video that this is normal.
I also wasn't told about the adjustable strap feature of the N30. I have long hair and felt like the strap was sliding a bit in the back or my head during the night, so I will try tightening up the strap tonight.
My husband did tell me that he was pleasantly surprised how quiet the machine and mask were. So he is happy that he will be getting a good night sleep now that I have my machine.
Thank you so much for the video. I found it to be extremely helpful.
    Cheers from Illinois.

The P10 was one of the most uncomfortable nasal pillows I have ever used. It pushes towards your nose and causes me pain. The strap was useless, it slide around, and didn't secure it on my face the way I hoped. I have the new airfit p30i and it is as good as the swift fx which is being discontinued. It's a little bit more of a mask, it's got some bulk but it is comfortable. I was getting discouraged as the swift fx is the only mask I have ever liked. I hope they keep the airfit p30i for some time. don't get me wrong, I still prefer the swift fx, as it is simple, works, and a very small footprint.

Supplier sent me a P10 try out and it came with the same adjustable strap as the N30 mask I have. N30 is a little more comfortable and is technically quiter but it leaks so much when I roll to my side that on the whole its louder in my case. P10 gives me a more stable seal and my AHI is slightly lower. If I slept alone I'd probably give the N30 priority lol.

My main problem with the P10 is that often the de-humidifier gets wonky and stops working properly. Often, the temperature of the air would transition from warm to cold. If I am inhaling cold air for more than 3 hours straight, I feel an internal rupture/bruising of my nose. How does one prevent this without having to buy the N30?

I really like your content! I found you by watching Lanky Lefty.
I just got the P10 a few days ago. It comes with an adjustable strap with a regular flat slide through clip. I can’t feel it on my head bc the clip is thin and soft. I ordered a medium but I don’t know whether I got the wrong size or not (I can’t find the link to your “sizer”) but it bothers my nose and the insides of my nostrils burn from the air! I have the humidity up to a 7 and I have a heated hose, ResMed 10 machine, max pressure 14 min pressure 10. So now I’m off to look for a different mask, ugh 😑

Thanks for your video. I'm sure this will sound like a stupid question, but if one has severe sleep apnea, will a mask like this, only going over your nose but not also your mouth, be enough? I'm thinking more in terms of how other people might experience the night, i.e. if I'm on a bus or airplane, with others very close by. I guess that's the second part of my question, how does this work for that kind of traveling, and minimizing sound that others will hear? MANY THANKS!!

I know this question was asked a year ago, but I'll answer it in case anyone new comes along with the same question...
The cushions/pillows are not interchangeable between frames. A P10 will only fit on a P10 frame. An N30 nasal cushion will only fit an N30 frame.
However, the headgear, the stretchy band, can be used on both. I even asked the sales rep when I was ordering if the headgear was interchangeable between these two and she said no.
Not true! The answer is a definitive yes on the headgear.

I have the P10 mask and the N30i mask. I like aspects of both. I find the P10 pillows hurt my nostrils after only two or three days. The N30i mask doesn’t irritate my nostrils, but is bulkier on my head and seems to slip around a lot on my head when I turn over. Is it possible to swap out the N30 pillows on the P10 frame or do I need to buy the entire N30 set?

Do you need another hose that goes onto the unit

Hi Joanna, yes you will still need the CPAP tube to connect to the mask tube :-)

    Hi Nick
I recently tried to purchase replacement nose pieces (in Adelaide )for the n30 and was told only come in packs of 3 including all the sizes
(SW, S, &M) @ $200…. ridiculous really. Is there anywhere I can just purchase the one size being S ? Surely yes ?

I've used the P10 successfully for about two years. In between I tried a couple of other masks but always came back to the P10. For me, the P10 can whistle some nights and adjusting it when half asleep is annoying to me.
I tried the N30 last year and it was OK but I tried the N30 again recently and I really like it this time around. Four days later I find that it is blowing air into my eyes and I am getting some dry eye problems. Anyone have a problem like this and/or a solution?

The p10 has given me dry eyes. I think it's because the pillows stretch my nostrils out. I switch to the small one and it almost goes entirely inside my nose!

Hi, does the P10 make a lot of noise during normal use? Or only when it leaks/goes out of alignment? I've tried a few different sizes for the P10 and I've readjusted it a lot, but it still makes quite a bit of noise when I inhale/exhale. I'm wondering if that's to be expected.

Nick, I have a full beard and mustache. How does the N30 work with the stache and is there something you would recommend in its place? With the cost of these things, I dont want one that leaks.

Hi Larry, yeah it's probably not a bad option mate but might be better off getting the P30i mask and then perhaps just getting the N30i cushion that also fits into the P30i frame. The P30i should give you a better mask seal. Both are great masks and highly rated by customers but like any mask, probably worth just doing a week trial with one to see how you find it. Otherwise, you can always on-sell it on facebook marketplace / ebay etc if it doesn't suit and get back most of your initial outlay. Cheers

N30 is so much easier to breathe than the p10. Nasal pillow is too flimbsy so it leaks often which is massively annoying. I don't find the N30 to be quieter but it does give you the freedom to breathe which the P10 doesn't.

tks. with no nasal pillows that go up your nose, does the p10 have a seal problem at higher pressures. I can assume it'll leak more
