      It’s very simple. Be sure to watch my “flush” video. Don’t replace core with a dirty system.

    You explained it and showed everything I needed to see. I'm not a mechanic at all. I always end up with extra parts somehow. My heat works with no steam. Now I have to zip tie those plug in things so they don't rattle and I'm good to go. Thank you.

    Change the heater core on my 1990 Ford f250 pickup truck twice actually three times because one of them was defective from AutoZone issues now I have a 1993 Ford f250 with a 7.5 engine and right here for was leaking a little steaming up the windshield just change the heater core did not hook my hoses back up cuz I have to pull the intake to change my hydraulic lifters what fun I am on a little slow , changing the heater core took me two and a half hours

    Replace my heater core on my 1993 ford bronco followed all the steps but now does not blow hot or even warm air on high heat setting ??? bronco is fully warmed up and live in phoenix AZ so not very cold.

      Odd. Did you happen to cross the hoses? Check the volume of coolant? Make sure there is no air in system. Also, did u do anything with thermostat?

    Having a hard time. I’ve had my heater core replaced and I still keep hearing a running water noise in the firewall. I’ve taken it back to the place and they installed a 90 elbow on where the condensation runs out. I’m not getting any leaking inside the truck, but it’s definitely annoying. Any advice?

  • @slonison
    @slonison Місяць тому +1

    Hey, so i think im getting water leaking in between the firewall and the black box that the heater core hoses float above. I don't think its an issue of the heater core itself but the water is coming in right between.
    Do you have any advice on sealing that black box? It sounds like the heater core has a gasket, does that big black box or is it just seam sealer on the top?

    • @BroncosandPartsGarage
      @BroncosandPartsGarage  Місяць тому

      That’s very rare- are you sure windshield isn’t leaking?

    • @slonison
      @slonison Місяць тому

      @@BroncosandPartsGarage
      So I actually found it. Under the hood on the passengers side. The box (I think it is what the blower mounts to. There is (was) factory sealer on the top of the box where it meets the firewall. It was all chewed and dried up. Especially right under where the two hoses seal to the heater core. I used a flat head screw driver to peel off the old sealer and man it definitely crumbled off like townhouse crackers. Tomorrow I'm going to remove the two heater core hoses to get solid clearance and then I will be using 3M seam sealer to truly seal the gap between. But it's definitely coming in there because it was right between. The firewall and the box where the vacuum lines go through the rubber grommet.

    When pulling the old one out, you can plug the inlet and outlet with something to help keep from spilling nasty coolant on your carpet. Stick something inside the tube itself.
