- After long last, the latest release of the Collection sets is finally upon us!
Season 22, the debut run of adventures for Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, sees the show adopt 45-minute episodes as a standard, with a bunch of new foes to face as well as several classics, including the Cybermen, the Sontarans and even the Daleks! Join me as we delve into this recent release and see what lies within!
The Collection range began in 2018 and since then has gone to please fans who want a concise way to collate the many classic seasons of their favourite show!

S22: bold, brash, confident, very much in your face and fronted by an actor clearly relishing breathing life into a role he'd always wished for. It has its flaws but, overall, it's a great run of stories. It's nice to hear someone being so positive about it!
The "pillar" the TARDIS turns into is an old-fashioned heating stove. We had one like it in Estonia.
Attack of the Cybermen is fantastic, so brutal but so good. My set only arrived today from hmv, which was unusual.
Thank you for your excellent review. This set won't be released in the States until mid October and when we do finally get it....it will have none of the fancy artwork that the Uk releases gets nor will it have that very shelf friendly box....We get a very spartan clear blue box only. My favorite season and favorite doctor so I am very excited to get this release. I will watch all the extras except for the Grade interview. There is nothing he can say 35 years later that will eleaviate the disappointment of not seeing Colin Baker flesh out his incarnation over the many seasons he promised he would have stayed on for. I love this season because it was.....Doctor Who for Adults (or as much as classic Doctor Who can be adult). Hope you enjoy revisiting this amazing series of Who as I know I will (in October, LOL)!

I wish we had more time with The Sixth Doctor and even The Seventh Doctor cos they had a short time on TV.

Have rewatched 2/3 of this season recently so happy to wait for now
I don't think it was the violent content that got the set a 12 rating. When they were released on Video and DVD, most of them got away with just a PG rating (Hell, Attack of the Cybermen even got away with a 'U' somehow).
I would put the 12 rating down to the content of the Extras, so it was probably over some of the profanity that slipped in.
Or maybe was necessitated by the fact a certain creep-burger appears on one of them.
Incidentally, I can still never get used to their new retro-style rating certificate colour scheme.
Savile has been edited out of that particular feature.

Upon revisiting A Fix With Sontarans (I got The Two Doctors DVD in 2007, before Fix got taken off it), it's actually quite an entertaining sketch before that reprobate turns up. So it'd be better off with him edited out.
@@sadako24 It's going to be trickier to remove Noel Clarke and John Barrowman from their episodes.
I got Season 22 on release day have watched attack of the cybermen really enjoyed it and watched the behind the sofa which was Really funny and interesting and watched the Colin Baker interview was funny but very emotional fantastic set very underrated season
Apart from Attack of the Cybermen which I’ve already seen, this will be my first viewing of Season 22. I hope I’ll enjoy it.

It is a great series! That got a bad reputation for some violence which is tame in today's world.

Mine is arriving tomorrow. Big fan of this season, Revelation was my first classic story and Two Doctors is one of my all time favourites. Been wanting this set for ages so I can't wait to finally get my hands on it. Great video!

Mine is on it's way! It's a shame they did not include the twin dilemma as a bonus.
Instead they included Slipback as a bonus, which aired during the 18 month hiatus.

Got mine today. I think the cover of this boxset is probably the most beautiful looking one so far. Except colin’s grumpy mug staring at you haha. Cant wait to dive into the special features, especially behind the sofa!!
