Thanks man! That encourages me to do more. I’m glad you took some benefit from it. Good luck on the cephalopods. I have some other jig colour tests two jigs side by side watching the reactions. Check them out
Thanks mate. Yes I have, my bro has one and it’s bloody awesome. I use a storm gomoku egi and it’s pretty good, but not as good as the yamashita for feel
Not if it is super low, but last time I was there I was touching sand at some places and turned around and had a 5.5m barcrusher behind me following the same trail who got stuck once and pushed it. It was a pretty low tide that day
Thank you 🙌 For braid I use 10lb normally, al little more forgiving on the snags and with squid jig weight casting distance isn’t an issue. Normally I use 1m-1.5 of 10lb fluorocarbon leader
Thanks man, good to hear. Will be making more instructional content in the future. In this video I am using an EGI rod by storm gomoku. It’s rated upto a 3.5 egi I believe. 8 foot and has an un real action. Yamashita also make some good egi rods. But the thing to remember these are specialist rods for squid. They don’t really cross over to fishing plastics or hard bodies, it just feels weird when you try
Hey mate, it’s a stessco catcher 450 cc Good little boat. I have it up creeks, in lakes, on sand flats, and 10-15km out on the good days chasing kingfish and tuna. Pretty versatile
Firstly, so glad ive come across your channel. Love the vids and how informative you are! Secondly, what line are you using for squiding? Im just getting into it and ive got a Abu Garcia Veritas 4.0 Spinning Rod 7ft 8in with a Daiwa Laguna LAG2500-5Bi. What would you recommend for this rod and reel combo for squiding?
Thanks man, love the comment. Glad your getting into it, they are a great species to target. Personally I use 10lb braid, I se no advantage going lighter, you’ll snap cast off jigs and loose them to reef more if you go lighter and the distance lost on 6-10lb is negligible on a jig weight. Get a braid that is visible to your eyes. For me that’s yellow or green. Being colour blind the multi colour ones or red and blue disappear on the water and you can’t watch your line as well. Good luck
@@AdriftFishing thx for the reply. I'm colour blind too! So I shall opt for the same braid option. Do you use a leader or do you tie the jig straight to the braid? Asking because I thought squid got spooked with those highly visible lines.
@@bigcajones92 haha it’s a pain sometimes aye haha! So I would always use fluorocarbon leader with braid. I was fishing with a mate last week side by side using the identical jig for other fish in my boat. He caught 2 kings. I caught 1 king 5 trevs and 8 snapper (released) he was braid to the lure. For bream whiting go 6lb, 10lb for squid and general, 15 for salmon flathead etc

brilliant as usual, much appreciated mate
