You asked to comment if anyone saw that show. I didn't but have watched that video many times. I saw their tour 3 years earlier. This video was 1981. In 1978 my mother dropped my brothers and me and our friends off at Madison Square Garden to see Queen. We were sitting in top top way back row - Freddie Mercury was one centimeter tall -from our seats - he blew the roof off roof off the place. I've seen the great performers over they years - Miles Davis , David Bowie, and so forth - but I have never seen a performer own a room like Freddie Mercury. There's only gonna be one of him.
Freddie's enthusiasm was absolutely electric. I played a few of these queen live videos for my grandmother before she died, she had alzheimers and was no longer responsive to talk; but these songs made her groove in the hospital bed... That dude had some goofy ass teeth but I tell you what he was one of the best musicians of all time.
Ok, now after you got the first taste of Queen performing live, you are ready for the big one... Queen at Live Aid 1985 - Full Concert 20 minutes of pure perfection! ;)
THE BEST EVER PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG AND THEY DID IT LIVE!!!!! no auto tune or studio processing.. absolute Pure Raw Talent from every member this is why queen are the greatest rock band in history and freddie the greatest frontman. and yes i am a fan of queen and have been since 76.... i dare you to find any other band in the last 25-30 years who can sound that good Live without autotune...
The best live band ever no question,a reporter once asked Freddie "which instrument do you play?" To which Freddie replied "the crowd darling" FUCKING LEGEND!
This is possibly their single greatest performance of one song in their careers. Their live performances are better than the studios versions for the most part & that is a rarity. No auto tune, no sound manipulation, just pure talent in abundance. Their live music catalogue is a must for any music fan. Best wishes from England 🏴
Some parts of this performance are altered though, like the “all on my own” line that Freddie strained in the original. Still one of the best live performances, but to say Queen productions didn’t pitch alter or overdub lines for their official releases would be a lie
@@theaverage9501 yes, I have the original release of this concert on VHS and it was slightly altered, but not much. I honestly think they should have left it. They did the same thing on BoRhap from their Hammersmith Odeon performance. On the original recording his voice cracked when he sang “I some times wish I’d ever been born at all”. That crack added conviction to the line IMO.
Check out “killer Queen” “Stone cold, crazy“ “keep yourself alive“ “lazing on a Sunday afternoon“ “I’m in love with my car“ which was sung by the drummer “you’re my best friend““seaside rendezvous““love of my life“ in the list goes on there is so much from this band you’ll never want to stop listening to them. If you really want to get a true view of how they were live, listen to their set from live aid, it was a concert thrown to raise money for AIDS foundation. They hadn’t played live in quite a while, because Freddy had issues with his voice, but he did it and nailed it right out of the park. He was told don’t do it or don’t get his voice up so high because of the issues he was dealing with you couldn’t tell he was having issues. The crowd went nuts and sang right along with them. Live aid is the perfect show that will let you see the total control he had of the crowd.
@Doug Nading funny enough I was at knebworth their last concert and I can't remember anything apart from how much energy I felt , it was electric , one memory is looking back whilst radio Gaga sung and seeing hundreds of 1000s of hands clapping in unison , happy days
Now this is the right way to do a reaction...the video should be bigger than the person reacting to it! Queen deserves to always be front and center...never stuck in a corner of the screen! Thank you Joy!!!
I'm in a band with a guitar player who is extremely timid as a person. He is kind, collaborative and brilliant as a musician, but extremely socially awkward. We just did our first show with him and he showed us exactly who he was. I was expecting him to be nervous and hang out in the back with his volume turned down, but he absolutely stole the show in the best of ways. At one point during a solo he walked out into the audience and got everybody dancing like they were one fire. The best musicians are like that. It's like all of their essence as a person was distilled down to that singular purpose of trapping, perfecting and then sharing the essence of pure jubilation. Queen is Queen because they're all exactly like that.
Freddie was the greatest to ever live! There will never be another Freddie Mercury with raw talent like he had. Stage performance like he did for every one of his concerts! To this day he is still EVERYTHING a beautiful man and talent gone way to soon but the fabulous 4 will never be beaten! They were all brilliant in their own way they were Queen no one else could’ve been but those 4 men
I have listened to numerous interviews with bands and their members & the majority of them when asked who inspired them to get in the music the rock ‘n’ roll business QUEEN normally always came up Freddie Mercury with his vocals & Brian, May on guitar was a major influence on bands after them.
This performance blows everybody away. What's really incredible is that this was only the FOURTH song they played that night. They're just getting warmed up. Queen was so good because they played every song like it was the encore.
Four world class musicians making it all look effortless. They were so tight! The incomparable Roger Taylor completely slaying on drums and vocals! Sir Brian May and John Deacon phenomenal on lead guitar and bass. I will never get tired of this performance!!♥️👑🥁🎤🎹🎸
as a live performance this is as good as it ever gets there's no band can out perform Queen and Freddie Mercury the guy was a genius and the most amazing stage presence, R I P Freddie never ever forgotten
I find it ironic that Freddie would pen a song with this title, little knowing how much we would all love him. What a soul galvanizing, beautifully written and performed performance. It truly feeds my soul.
I had the pleasure of seeing Queen in concert twice. Needless to say, their performance was on point! There will NEVER be another band quite like them!
Queen is one of those bands who sound live as good or even better than on the studio version 🤍 something like that doesn’t even exist anymore 🤍 you should listen to the Milton Keynes concert and Live aid and of course Bohemian Rhapsody live !!! Queens live aid performance is considered to be the best live rock performance of all time. Freddie has some solo albums with beautiful songs like Made in Heaven or there must be more to life than this (also called the “golden duet” because this is a song by Freddie and Michael Jackson but they never released it so Freddie put the song on his solo album but just with his vocals but you can listen to both versions so Freddie alone and Freddie with Michael) Somebody To Love is by the way one of Freddie’s absolute favorite songs 🤍 and you definitely hear that every time
I saw them in Birmingham, Alabama in 1977. I'd been to several concerts but I left there thinking, "what the heck did I just see." They were on another level. Always love your reactions.
The ultimate entertainer, the ultimate voice, we will never hear the likes of Freddie again. I always get a tear in my eyes listening to Freddie sing, miss him so very much.
ALL of Queen & Freddie's live performances are every bit as AMAZING as this.... and each one is DIFFERENT (because they always altered the performances, so that if someone came to multiple shows, they could have a new experience each time.)
Yes, I was lucky to see them live. I grew up resenting missing many singers and bands that were 'before my time' - like Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles and more. When Queen and other artists of that era were around, and I was a young man, I never thought there'd be a day when a new generation of fans would discover Queen and ask 'did we see them in concert?' Now it's come full circle. I first saw them when I was 18, in 1980. Then twice in 1982, so either side of this Montreal gig - they were exactly like this, a class act. Two hours of fantastic entertainment. Finally I saw them again in 1984. All four gigs in the UK, two in London. I couldn't get a ticket for Live Aid 1985, and didn't want to join the crush for the huge outdoor gigs of 1986 - thought nah, I'll wait for their next tour. Of course, there never was another tour - sadly - once Freddie knew he was ill. But, I'm thankful I saw the four of them, four times, at the height of their powers.
Being a life long Queen fan I seen them in Toronto Canada in 1978 front row seats we sang and partied the whole concert my ticket cost $8.50 RIP Freddie Mercury ❤️🏳️🌈
This performance is a dose of joy, a huge dose. 😉 You can choose any songs from the Montreal concert, they all are great, maybe check out Save Me or jump back in the time and try the White Queen at Hammersmith 75.
In 1985 there was a huge international concert for charity called “Live Aid”. Queen’s performance at Live Aid is considered (still today) as the greatest live rock set ever! You must see it! You may recognize a couple of songs that you didn’t know were done by them - and Lady Gaga actually chose her name from their song Radio Gaga (which is a tribute to radio in an era where videos were making radio less popular). Please go watch the Live Aid performance. Your jaw will drop. It will change your life. FYI Freddie Mercury performed against doctor’s as he had a severe throat infection.
I went to one Queen concert in Los Angeles. I would have liked to go to more but the tickets sold out fast, no matter how many shows they booked. This performance is so great, it showcases every band member and Freddie absolutely shines. Thank you for your reaction.
One of the greatest live bands of all time. I saw them 6 times at Madison Square Garden and was never disappointed. Check out their Live Aid performance.
I've watched about 30 reactions to this. Everyone is astounded. I've been a Queen fan since this was released (early 80's). Fun to watch younger people finally get it!! Anything live... check!
Look Superman is wearing a Freddie Mercury shirt, lol ❤️ Thank You Joy ❤️ This is my Favorite Song Ever and it was Freddie's favorite song too! I LOVE FREDDIE and miss him So Much! ❤️
A woman who's an opera singer and professor of classical vocal music did a reaction video of this performance. At the end, she said "I can't find anything to criticize! It's perfect!" Allow me to draw your attention to the drummer, Roger Taylor. He sang most of the soprano background harmonies. He did this perfectly, while playing complicated rum parts at the same time. Let that sink in a moment.
A total of 3 Queen reactions as of today. I’ve seen all 3 reactions, seemed you loved them, but none since this one. Most go down a deep Queen rabbit hole once entered. Oh well. Thanks for the 3 reactions.
Yes I and my friends went ( 1) one time..We didn't pay our rent...Ate mac & cheese & hot dogs for a month....TOTALLY worth it..The harmonization off the hook. Remember this is live a concert..One the the top 10 bands of all time
Roger on the drums taking lead at the end with Freddie doing the back vocals is always so beautiful. Brian with the guitar and the back up vocals just wow so much talent and that is queen.
I'm glad you listened to your subcribers who suggested to listen to the live video in Montreal. One of the best live performances of all time. That "my friend" is called talent!
I managed to bug one of my older brothers and his wife to go and see Queen's "The Game Tour" in 1980 at the Wembley Arena. It was a Christmas present to my girlfriend (now wife and owner), it was our second date. I'd seen them on their "Crazy Tour" the year before so I knew what a hell of a show they put on, plus I was trying to lure the Boss to the dark side :)). And like all good couples we have a song, which we danced to at our wedding, "You're My Best Friend", a song written by John Deacon (the bassist, who I met by accident 2007).
I'm new to watching your channel. Loving your reactions to Queen. You should watch their full Live Aid performance. It's freaking awesome and will blow your mind.
Saw Queen back in 81 or 82 can’t remember saw Queen I 81 or 82 not sure which year it was with Billy Squire Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to but Rush by themselves and the concert with The Who, Jethro Tull and John Cougar were2 really good concerts also Love Queen RIP Freddie
Just an excellent band, ofcourse especially Freddie!! He is sensational. Don't forget the amazing Roger Taylor, drums AND vocals!! Ofcours Brian May, lead guitarist & John Deacon 'bass' were also undeniably incredible. What a team!!!!!!!!!
I went to a Queen concert in Phoenix Arizona in 1981 and it was the concert of a lifetime!!! David Bowie was there to sing Under Pressure with Freddie..which was amazing. I have went to some great concerts of my time including The Rolling Stones…they were good but I must say….Queen was the best!!! They are rock icons and Freddie was one in a million!!!!❤❤❤
Rock concerts are the best, they work hard up there night after night when on tour to put a great show on for everyone and I'll add Prince also with them, he always put a great concert on everytime.
The fact there was no background music playing and all the singing and instrumentals was done by them really shows you what a real love performance is and should be.
I love seeing people react to Freddie's voice and how ridiculously good Queen was musically. They were beyond, just beyond belief. I will never forget hearing them for the very first time and my mouth falling open. Just stupified by what I was hearing. Gobsmacked. Freddie's voice was a true gift from God. We'll never it's like again and thank God it was recorded over and over again is all I can say.
Sweety, when I was a young buck I was headed for 5'11" tall. After a lifetime of playing guitar (and a little keyboards), (60 years, honestly), I shrunk down to 5'5"! Yeah, I've been to a mess of concerts here in the USA, a couple in Canada too, and it's always been a soul busting experience for me. 😁 I always used to crack myself up thinking that when killer bands like Queen and Pink Floyd played, God would look down and yell, "Yeah, keep that going!!!" 👼😂🤣😂😁
Awww, my first time visiting your channel and it was a wonderful experience! 😁🥰 I try to make my comments interesting and insightful, and I look forward to more of your smiling face and reactions. 🌹✌️🕊️
You asked to comment if anyone saw that show. I didn't but have watched that video many times. I saw their tour 3 years earlier. This video was 1981. I believe this video exemplifies what a cohesive, immensely talented group Queen was. Watch again, Roger OWNS this one.
Absolutely phenomenal. Nothing to be said. Great reaction, Ty…
Freddie's enthusiasm was absolutely electric. I played a few of these queen live videos for my grandmother before she died, she had alzheimers and was no longer responsive to talk; but these songs made her groove in the hospital bed... No question! Freddie was one of my top dudes.
He refused to fix his teeth because he was afraid his voice would suffer
This just soothes your soul.
61 years old now, and they still blow my mind. I’ll listen to this band right up till the day I die.
Empty world without Freddie 💔
Freddie's charisma is off the charts.
The GOAT. Best Frontman of all time!
The Best Live band in History!
Fun isn't it. :D
Your reaction was just--flawless.....I'm still giggling, coz people just don't KNOW !!! 😁
Watching a band respond to all their cues, little asides, I never get bored of this kind of video.
Freddie is the best, each song I hear and video I see simply wows me!!
I saw them twice with Freddie. The best concerts ever!! Same energy as this. Love your reaction!
Ok, now after you got the first taste of Queen performing live, you are ready for the big one...
Queen at Live Aid 1985 - Full Concert

I saw Queen in 1978 NYC it is part of my soul.

Yip, best live band ever, i was honoured 2 have seen them yet n 1985 here, NZ...
I saw them twice, once in 1978 at the Forum in Los Angeles and then again in 1982 in Frankfurt, Germany 🇩🇪

Love the drummer's performance.. Freddy was great and deserved praise.. but he had great performers in the group that could keep up with him.

THIS WAS EPIC, NOBODY CAN COMPARE TO THEM. THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD. THE DRUMS ARE SO INCREDIBLE...
Live Queen is the best. The studio version has a lot of beautiful voice layering which is epic. Queen is considered the Greatest live band. reaction.
Freddie Mercury had total control of that stage and the crowd. He’s the one and only true front man.
I had the pleasure of seeing Queen in concert twice. Needless to say, their performance was on point! There will NEVER be another band quite like them!
So jealous! I always intended to. What a dream!
Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole…..you’re in now!! Love it!!
Freddie’s vibrato is absolutely THE BEST.

Freddie was a big Aretha Franklin fan, this was his tribute to her gospel style.
He wrote this song as a homage to Aretha Franklin whom he loved. This is why it has aspects of a gospel song.

Try White Queen live at the odeon hammersmith 75. Great reaction.
I saw this concert tour when it came to Toronto in '81. It was fan-bloody-tastic. AND this was the opening song. It got even better.

Oh yeah, White Queen live at The Odeon 1975!!!!
Freddie took us church and mopped the floor with us. A religious experience. Truly.

White Queen Odeon Hammersmith 1975 is really something.
No auto tune, not ear wiggles, no auto cue just Queen live at their best. As Freddy used to say Talent will out.

We'll never it's like again and thank God it was recorded over and over again is all I can say.
True Legends!
so glad you checked this out a fantastic live performance so many more queen songs out there
This young lady is so cool and quite attractive as well, looks and brains someone will be very happy in life
On his days off, Superman wears a Freddie Mercury t-shirt.
I watched them live multiple times. It was like being in the presence of gods.
This is one of my favorite reaction videos EVER. Loved your whole response to the performance!
Loved how into this you got. Great reaction to an amazing performance 👏🏾👍🏾👏🏾
I saw this tour when I was 13. Sept 28, 1980 MSG NYC
best drummer of all time, also, i love your channel girl, new sub here!
“Loved” your comment
Some people were born to perform. That's Freddie.
I've said before, if I could jump in a time machine and go back to any concert in history, this would be it.
Awww, my first time visiting your channel and it was a wonderful experience! 😁🥰 I try to make my comments interesting and insightful, and I look forward to more of your smiling face and reactions. 🌹✌️🕊️
